The Leafs really made this as heartbreaking as possible for their fans, and I truly appreciate that rotflol

I think someone a couple pages back even said forcing game 7 and losing in OT would be the best way to watch this series end. Only thing that woulda made it better was if Marchand scored it. Was an entertaining game even with the lack of scoring.
Boston is going to need to button some things up this next round.

So do the Leafs deal Marner? Salt Lake City would love to make a splash and they have the picks, prospects & capspace to easily get it done…. Logan Cooley would probably be the main piece going to the Leafs…

This year is Carolina’s last good chance at a cup… They have a long list of players who will all command big contracts including 4 of their top 6 forwards (Guentzel, Jarvis, Necas, Turrevainen

It will be interesting to see if Seth Jarvis takes the small 2 year bridge deal they got others to take…

If I was Salt Lake I don’t know if I would make that trade.
Cooley looks like he has a future and Marner has proven to dissappear in the playoffs.
Granted they need to make the playoffs first.

Biz’s coy comments referring to the hot blonde behind the Dallas bench whenever they show Pete DeBeur are hilarious!!

Liam – “Looks like the glass banger got an assist on that goal”

Biz – “which one are we talking about?”

Well I lucked out with Dallas and Boston advancing. My bracket is perfect heading into round 2.

Need a couple upsets in this round tho. I have the Canes and Oilers pulling an “upset” this round.

I think that’s just a product of the pressure cooker to play in Toronto is vs anything with Marner’s game… Something has to change in Toronto, the “Big 4” idea hasn’t worked…I think the SLC trade idea is good for both franchises…

IDK if the Canes winning would really be an upset. They are a dang load and after adding Guentzel they will go far IMO.

I hear ya. Technically if you go by the seedings it is. Same with the Oilers over the Canucks.

I know what you mean, but I am just saying that adding Guentzel makes a huge difference.

Deano coaching the Jets would pump the tires a bit in that rivalry! Although I think they want Berube..

Chicago better not snag number 1 again. The thought of Celebrini and Bedard on the same roster makes me vomit.

Any team can move up a maximum 10 spots, that’s why it’s so important to get in the bottom 11 teams, so you have a small chance of getting pick #1…The Wild have like a 3-4% chance of moving upto pick #3. The only way they move back from pick #13 is if one of the other teams behind them break even greater odds and move up (like 1%)

Hawks have better odds to get Celebrini than they did Bedard whistling

it would fit the Bettman narrative that Salt Lake City wins the lottery tonight…reward the owner for stepping up and buying the basket case franchise….also stick it to the previous crazy owner who made him sit through that uncomfortable press conference…

Auston Matthews scoring 69 goals and being a Selke finalist, but not being a Hart finalist is hilarious. The PHWA showing how dumb they really are.

Lol I bet Kaprizov gets more Hart votes this year than last year when “he deserved 1st place votes”

FR though how do the writers vote the guy who scored 69 goals [the most goals in a season since prime Mario] a top 3 defensive forward, but not top 3 overall?

You’re going to argue against MacKinnon, Kuch and McJesus as the top 3?? lol…he’s in the biggest hockey market and outside of already winning the Rocket Richard trophy they voted him in as many award finals as possible…his stats backup his Selke nomination…

Nope, just pointing out a massive contradiction from the voters. If the guy lapping the field in goal scoring is voted top 3 defensively… how the hell is he not voted top 3 overall?

It’s like when college goalies are in the Hobey Hat trick but then don’t win the Richter

his stats backup his Selke nomination…

Is this where I ask you to site your dark web back corner of the internet stat sites jester

I too was surprised with his nomination, my guess is he was the 3rd choice and won the final spot due to a popularity contest and not getting into the Hart top3, but his Blocked Shots, Defensive Takeaways, Faceoff %, +/-, PK minutes played, etc are all pretty good….

Mitch Marner was in the final 3 last year so there’s that…

Did John Buccigross just accidentally leak the NHL Draft Lottery final order in a tweet of the studio with the Draft order shown in the background?
    It shows:
    1) San Jose
    2) Utah
    3) Chicago
    4) Anahiem
    5) Columbus
    6) Montreal
    7) Ottawa
    8) Seattle
    9) Calgary
    10) New Jersey
    11) Buffalo
    12) Philly
    13) Wild
    14) Pittsburgh
    15) Detroit
    16) St Louis

We will find out soon enough but isnt that the order they are currently sitting in? Seems like it would be very dang close.

Utah would be moving up if that is the order

Here’s the deleted tweet. No way Bucci was that dumb to accidentally expose a rigged draft order, but the draft conspiracy theorists are loving it
