    Dumba + 7th traded to Tampa for a 5th round pick…

More than BG ever could get.

I mean, its essentially a 6th round pick when he’s a pending UFA, if GMBG would have ever accepted a 6th rounder for him, Wild fans would have pulled out pitchforks..

Hertl to Vegas? Sheesh. This is a wild trade deadline. Id like to keep Dewar around. Great on PK

wtf, Vegas trading for Thomas Hertl? who has a $8.1 x 7 deal?

Wild says 1C’s can’t be found other than drafting or overpaying via UFA, we’ve been looking for 23+ seasons…Vegas says “Hold my Beer”

I have to guess they are going to have to trade him after this season. No way they can afford that, but who knows. Stone on LTIR all next season and beyond?

    Details of Hertl to Vegas:
    San Jose gets:
    1st ‘2025
    David Edstrom (Vegas’s drafted #31 in 2023)
    Vegas Gets:
    Hertl at $6.75 (17% retained)
    3rd in 2025
    3rd in 2027

This is the type of trade where the fanbase for team’s starving for a 1C looks at their GM and says wtf didn’t you do something like that! It’s going to cost them not re-signing Marchessault and Stevenson, but I think most would be fine with that (actually, what it will cost Vegas is any bodies guess…)

I know but I didnt want him to be!

Opens another roster spot for Marat, Ohgren, Beckman, Shaw, Letteiri to fight over next year…We gotta keep our 4th line comprised of ELC/league minimum contracts moving forward to make better use of capspace…

I agree, but Dewey2 is a known quantity we have no idea how these others will perform. I didnt see much out of Beckman last night but I didnt watch the whole game either.

2026 4th round pick. I think that is a decent enough return I guess.

Dewar Duhaime are AHL Iowa success stories for both them and the team. Mid-round pick that turns into a valuable depth player on a cheap contract and then gets dealt to another team when they’re due to come off that cheap contract. Good for them, good for the Wild.

is that worth $2+ aav for a 4th liner? My guess is GMBG thinks Marat can provide what he did and more…(don’t bring up Freddy’s 5x $2.1)

I feel like it’s missed that Vegas is sitting in the #2 wild card spot… Them missing playoffs this year would be the funniest thing ever.

kinda crazy how the trade deadline has turned into mostly trading draft picks 2-3 years into the future…seems like that’s a recent trend…

^^ Epic rant! It’s up to the league to fix this if they want. I’m surprised Vegas is the only team with big enough balls to play the loop holes the way they do.

Anyone else pick up on ben Meyers being sent to Anaheim? Obviously some people were losing their minds when they didn’t sign him thinking he was a future 1-2C. I do think it could be different in Anaheim if he is given more playing time on a non-playoff team. but he also has played 9 NHL games this year and isn’t exactly super-young anymore at 25

NOBODY thought he would be a 1C or 2C… at the time we were looking for a cheaper Nico Sturm replacement…

Love the moves by Billy G today. As a fan people are losing their mind but they werent coming back next year and werent producing anyway. Hockey wise getting something for either of them is a win. Just my opinion. Cant wait until BG is free of the suter and parise deals. Hopefully the “fans” dont run him out of town before than. As always, just my opinions.

If I was a Vegas player who liked being in Vegas I would be worried next year about being traded.
Vegas has shown there is no loyalty to players. You’re gone if they find a newer shinier toy.

I said this earlier. But damn if it hasn’t worked for them. I get the whole “team in a box” thing but they have made some bold moves and played the loop holes to the extreme since then. I gotta admire them they got Cup cred and did it in six years. Six years from now we will probably still be hoping and wishing on our next prospect pool.

Vegas infuriates a lot of people the way they play the system but I think their anger is misdirected. Besides given where Vegas is sitting right now they could wind up not making the playoffs after all this moving and shaking. But they will be right back doing the same thing next year.

Freddy hockey winning a key faceoff vs one of the best in the league shorthanded is huge.

Is there a nickname for Marat Khusnutdinov yet? I sure as heck can’t say his name.

    Mario Kart?
    KOOS Koos?
