Shaw with his first point of the season. Only 10 more and he’ll tie Freddy.

I dont think Kappo moved on any of Kirill’s goals until they hit the back of the net…

The Sharks are just dreadful and it took 2 comebacks to beat them tonight…

Well, you could say the same about a whole bunch of players wearing Wild sweaters last night. It takes a hat trick from KK to win against Granlund and his band of merry castoffs?

KK was just a man amongst boys last night. Boldy was fine, I think he still feels he has something to prove. But still nobody can fan on a pp one timer like Boldy.

Oh, and I didn’t realize it untill I got to the game, but it was Star Wars the night. Help me…

While I like this move, no surprise the NHL would just change something on a whim without a CBA or NHLPA involved.

with no games until Thursday night and the Trade deadline of 2pm on Friday, it wouldn’t surprise me to see whatever GMBG can move to get it done before the deadline, why wait other than to see if teams get desperate at 1:30m friday and it jacks the price up?

I know we love him, but Jake Middleton is another possible deadline trade option IF the return is big enough…you don’t trade him just to trade him, but if the deal is good, you need to think hard about it…he’ll be a 30 year old UFA after next season…

It sounds like they want to extend Bogo a year or two and it looks like Chisholm is a legit NHL defenseman, so moving on from Middleton isn’t the worst idea ever…

While he’s not a pending UFA, Middleton’s $2.45aav next season should be absorbable by the contending teams…

    Next years possible D pairs:
    Faber – Brodin
Chisholm – Spurgeon (if healthy) or signed UFA
    Bogo – Hunt/O’Rourke/Vet signed UFA/Merrill

Well, after last night’s bleep show, I’d think that everybody who is tradeable is on the market for the right price. Nobody out there except KK and a few “fighting for a roster spot” guys were even pretending they were interested in making some kind of run. The bubble playoff team has finally burst.

I hope we can make some moves. This team isn’t good enough to worry about keeping the band together. Down the stretch here we aren’t even good enough to be a bubble playoff team, so there’s no “give them time” argument to be made, this team is going the wrong direction.

I’ve noticed a big shift in the tone online toward GMBG. 1 year ago, you couldn’t find anyone that had any criticisms, he was still riding the honeymoon train as the most competent GM the Wild have ever had. Well, that grade inflation gravy train ended this season. The shine is definitely off the apple and he knows it. He’s got a year.

Yeah Middleton is the one obvious guy who could make a dent if traded. He’s also the only big tough top-4 D they’ve had since I don’t know when so how do they replace that for next season. He’s leading the team in blocks and hits and I don’t think he’s lost a fight this year. That top 4 of Faber/Brodin/Chisholm/Spurge would be as soft as it gets.

Jake McCabe got a 1st and 2nd last year so I think you’d need something similar to move Middleton. I can see it happening.

Might be forced to move 97 if he keeps screwing up the tank though. He must not have been in the meeting where they told everyone to quit trying so hard.

They will probably just starting sitting 97 and play one of the young guys from Iowa to see what they got. whistling

Maybe tell him he needs some surgery. And how else are they supposed know what they got in **insert prospect or fringe AHLer** without playing them in some meaningless games they’re supposed to lose

Kaprizov will understand though, if there’s one thing he truly wants it’s that #8 spot in the draft

That’s just dumb, you know what i’m talking about when I mentioned that…happens every season to teams out of the playoff race and its upto the player, the team can’t TELL them when to get surgery…Kirill got his knee scoped a few weeks after the season ended last year as an example of nagging injury surgery…

He apparently had his VISA meeting a day or so ago…I heard they are going to try and get him on the AZ/COL road trip but it will be awfully tight…

curious to see if Kirill offers up his place to stay right away? I think he lives downtown across from US Bank stadium…

I think he was just poking for a little fun Joe. I know I was.

I don’t think Middleton is going anywhere. Trying to extend Bogo to me makes it sound they are locking in their top six for next year. With the AHL guys being the injury replacements. With Mermis being the old reliable.

Russo’s mailbag was interesting when talking about Rossi’s future.

The goalies will also be an interesting off season decision that will have to be made.

GMBG isn’t going anywhere…he was just promoted to the highest position possible in an organization this season (albeit before the other issues surfaced) He was just made USA GM for the Olympics and 4 Nations Series… and from videos we’ve seen that the Wild have put out (Draft table, etc) he’s chummy with Leopold…

The last 2 seasons have been some of the best in Wild history (regular season at least) This Season (the worst of the cap pain) his team would likely be in the playoffs again if they didn’t get decimated with injuries the first half of the season. Next year is the final year of cap hell and alot of his draft picks are now turning pro and starting to produce in the pros…

He’s going nowhere for awhile…and if Craig did let him go, he’d be snatched up instantly…

in terms of his GM decision making, I can say the Foligno extension is the only head scratcher…

I figured…you know Kirill would play on 1 leg if needed…

I still think Zuccy and Foligno will opt for an early surgery if it made sense for next season…

You know I’m all about fun lol the point about Kirill fighting to the bitter end is exactly it. The early maintenance surgeries and filling in with call-ups makes sense but that’s not happening until 5 games remaining or once they’re mathematically eliminated… just the way she goes.

Billy G is under fire from fans and it’s simply because they’re losing… all part of the roller coaster. Just like the whole Vegas organization was under fire the one single year of their existence they missed the playoffs. They were the laughingstock for about 6 months, and then they won the cup and now they’re geniuses again.

Just look at that Sharks team full of Billy G good decisions (and some lucky ones too)… it’s a bunch of dudes that he got rid of and even got a few assets for.

I think the Dewey’s and Maroon are the only possible guys moving at the deadline. Probably could had made several big moves had we not extended the vets. Hindsight I guess.

agreed, Dewey1 will fetch the most back (possibly a 2nd? maybe even a 2025+ 1st if you can get a few teams wanting him, unlikely, but every year there’s a few overpays) Dewey2 maybe a 4th rounder, Maroon likely a 7th…

I’m still a fan of Dewey2, just sounds like GMBG would rather restart the RFA clock ticking on Marat and others instead of dealing with Dewey2 with Arb rights…I just hope they stick with the 4th line being mostly comprised of hungry ELC guys doing all they can every night to stay in the show and avoid the AHL and long bus rides vs expensive Vets we stick there because there’s no other spots or they can’t be sent down…

The comment section in the Athletic is losing their mind over the Rossi trade option in the off season. Kind of funny.

IMO the idea of moving Middleton doesn’t make sense. Chisem shows promise but is not at this time a top 4 defenseman. I do think they should try and move Merrill and Mermis, leaving Chisem as the 3rd pair left defenseman. Sign Bogosian as the 3rd pair right defenseman.
Trade Duhaime, but I wouldn’t give Dewar away cheap, he has shown to have more touch when on the ice with more talent.
That would leave the pairings for next year when healthy.
Brodin, Faber. Middleton, Spurgeon. Chisem, Bogosian.
Bring up the best young Iowa defenseman for the 7 spot, or keep Mermis.

Chisholm is not playing top 4 if all are healthy.
