The Deweys sure have looked good to all the scouts attending the games lately…

Just saying? I’d rather get rid of gauhreau and JoJo but who’d take them?

Could Nashville turn up the PA volume? I can almost barely hear the TV announcers over that moron on the PA.

Nashville almost always owns us at home (last game we won here big was a fluke)

Well, I’d expect to see a couple guys moved after that complete no show. Duhaime, maybe Dewar although he’s turned it on lately.

looks like it was just about as worst as possible outcome last night with the Wild losing and most other teams around them points wise winning as well…

The Deweys will be dealt…the Wild actually has a backlog of forwards signed now so a few will need to go…

I’d say 100% Duhaime is dealt, 75% Dewar is dealt (I think if his agent came to GMBG and said he’d be willing to sign a 4 x $1.5 deal he’d take it) You know what to expect with Dewar, he plays hard and is a good penalty killer…

Stick a fork in em. They’re done.

The Wild cannot consistently–repeat consistently–compete against even low/mid ranked playoff teams. They would not survive a 7 game series against any likely R1 opponent.

You guys who are have regular calls with Never Say Die Billy should encourage him to look at the bright side. Instead of crawling into the playoffs through the back door, take the higher draft pick and start getting it together for next season. Marat is a positive step. We need more.

Question for the ‘throw the towel in’ brigade: What does that look like it? How is it different than making a push for the playoffs?

Dewy and Dewy are on the block and getting traded for the right return regardless. Fleury has said he isn’t moving. Maroon is hurt. Bogosian is coming back for next year. Just trying to figure out what throwing in the towel looks like because I don’t see what they can do to make the team tank here.

Typically that means any players that will need surgeries, get them now to assure they are healthy for next season, minutes get divided up more evenly, more maintenance days, constant lineup changes to get looks at the younger players (Merril/Bogo sits out a game every now & then for guys like Hunt, O’Rourke, maybe Beckman gets a few games, etc)

The hardest part for a Coach/GM when the playoffs aren’t possible is getting guys close to contract incentives or milestones a chance to hit them and remain happy…

They wont tank, and they will give us a glimmer of hope to the bitter end. I hope we move Duhaime and or Dewar. We need to make room and those guys have some value. Is today the deadline?

Canes were interested in Petterson? Holy smokes, they would be a juggernaut if they added him. I havent looked at CapFriendly to see what they would have to do to make it work, but that would be impressive.

I said the same thing, but they are probably one of the best cap managed teams in the league…it would have cost them Necas and Kotkeniemi though…Seth Jarvis’s extension will not be cheap, but they always seem to get their top guys to take less (getting Aho signed at $9.75 x 8 with the cap about to explode is a steal)

It feels like they are wasting their window though…they will likely have to rebuild their entire Defense in the next year…

Its funny how alot of the perennial powerhouse teams lately (Carolina, Edmonton) have a huge need for a goalie…they never seem to properly address it…

Not that they don’t try, they make goalie moves it just doesn’t seem to work out for them. That’s why I say goaltending is the most volatile position and it can completely tank a good team

Seems like every time a major player is on the trade market, or sorta on the market in this case, Friedman says the canes are in on them. Same for Vegas and Colorado
