If these 3 guys are coming this year then there is definitely bodies going out this year too.

What three guys are coming this year?
Russo’s article said they need to “open spots” for Khusnutdinov, Ohgren, and Heidt next year. He’s just starting up a little sh!t storm with comments like that

Well reading Joes post it would be pi$$ missile, possibly Yurov and Heidt. Heidt obviously wouldnt be playing THIS season, but they would still have to get rid of people to make room for all these guys.
speaking of that Russo article, its nice to hear the Wild are serious about giving Riley Heidt at least a 9 game NHL look “next” season
Riley Heidt would only get 9 games NEXT season (so they don’t burn his first ELC year) UNLESS he unlikely makes the team like Buffalo’s Zach Benson did this season…He’s one of those players who’s too young to play in the AHL and too good to go back to his Junior team and still develop…
I only see Ohgren playing in Iowa next year, I don’t think he’s had a full season played in 2+ years due to injuries, so he could use more time cooking…I think Marat is penciled in as a middle/bottom 6 spot with the Wild next year replacing Duhaime/Dewar’s spot and possibly moving up the lineup if his play warrants it…

Which is what I said… He would still sign THIS season most likely.

They will most likely sign Heidt and Kumpelainen this offseason, but then slide it if possible, depends on their birthday…
Either way he wont play this year but they would still have to move some people for next year which would make sense at the deadline OR in the offseason I suppose, but would get more for them now Id think.

Man I love to see other people arguing about absolutely nothing
Fun isn’t it
I was more confused than arguing…
What was so confusing about what I said?
3 guys coming this year.
Hardly confusing, I didnt necessarily mean they would be playing this season, but that they could be signing.
You know the year is now 2024 and we wont get to 2025 for another 10 months right?
Oh crap my wife must have just flipped back our 2023 calendar. No wonder my days have been off.

LMAO always the wife!
Frank Seravelli mentioned today that Vancouver and a few other teams have called GMBG on Duhaime…
Lets see what GMBG can get for him… I think he’ll get alot more than most believe….

I agree with this. they could get a haul for him. we all saw what tampa gave up for jeannot last year
A “haul” for Duhaime is a 2nd round pick, just like that was a haul for Greenway.
Jeannot was coming off a 20+ goal season and still had RFA status. Duhaime doesn’t have 20 goals in his career and will be a UFA thus summer the Wild are not signing him.
Tanner had 24 G’s the year before he was traded.
Exactly. Not to mention that trade was awful and everyone knew it right away and hasn’t worked out at all. Now it’s used as the example for every fan base expecting a haul for their UFA 4th liners.
i see your point but they didnt bring in jeannot to score goals. they have plenty of guys who can do that. tampa was trying to recreate their bottom 6 which just wore teams down in 20′ 21′ an 22′. teams are now willing to pay more for a guy who is just no fun to play against because of how playoff hockey works. And this isnt like greenway because the wild wanted to rid him and a playoff hopeful buffalo was willing to give up a little to give him a shot in their young core. It wont be a jeannot-like return, but its worth seeing whats out there, and like joeMX said, it might be more than you think. just my 2 cents
Jeannot was an outlier trade that will get mentioned every time a team has a 4th line winger on the trade block. Just like the 2019 blues are mentioned every time a team is in last place in January
I agree trade Duhaime if they can get anything, he’s gone after this year either way (by this year I mean this season, not the year 2024 ). A 2nd is already way more than I think he’s worth but yeah of course I’d love to be wrong here. I said the exact same thing about Greenway and turned out I was wrong and then also happy about being wrong
I’d be happy getting back a 3rd rounder for Dewey1, anything more is gravy…
He always flashed some skill but it never blossomed… his concussion history is also a bit worrisome (although he’s been healthy this season)
Freddy must have threatened to email out the photos he has on the Wild Management team again because he’s centering the 2nd line tonight…
^^^Haha when I saw the line combos I immediately thought uh oh what’s Joe gonna say about this.
