Yeah the stuff these doctors can do these days is incredible, but somehow they cannot cure cancer. Wonder why, but Putin is close.

so 7 games until March 8th trade deadline (at Edmonton, at Seattle, home vs Carolina, at Nashville, at St Louis, home vs Sharks, at Arizona)
Do you think GMBG’s buy/sell decision will be based on how the Wild plays or how the standings look on March 7th? My point being, if the Wild plays well in those 7 games but doesn’t make up any of the playoff gap, does he sell?
Did we ever find out if LTIR space can be used to broker deals for other teams? I kinda think it can’t?
I don’t think it matters. The Wild really don’t have anyone of value to trade away and BG has always stayed away from trading away significant draft picks or prospects for rentals.
It’s already too late to try and tank for a better draft pick as they would be hard pressed to get down to a top 10 pick.
May as well stand pat and hope for the best.

Spot on. I mean who are they gonna “sell”? Duhaime and Maroon hardly make a dent. Even Flower if he wants out. Don’t see the playoff chances changing much without any of them. Now if they could parlay one of them into a right shot D, that could have a major impact on any playoff potential.
Nice to see Gus steal a game tonight, looked like Gus of last season.

Chisholm can play! We’ll see how long he can keep this up.
Wild tanked for Chisholm lol that was probably the lowest they’ve been in the standings in 10+ years
I think they move Duhaime because they have guys who can replace him (Shaw, potentially Khusnidhinov). All he really provides the Wild is a consistent Penalty Killer…
The big question mark is Flower, we know he wants to be in the playoffs (17 season streak?) Does he roll the dice and hope the Wild get in or lifts his NMC to go to a cup contender needing a solid backup?
Just watched the highlights from last night in Edmonton. That’s a solid road win against a quality team. 41 saves for the Gus. Not a recipe for success most games but I remember him doing the same thing in game 1 of the season against the Panthers too.
He did the same for a good chunk of last season, most of the year actually. Gus has the potential to carry this to the playoffs and even do some damage there *if* he finds that game again. No disrespect to Flower but he’s just not that guy anymore.
Edmonton also hit 2-3 posts in the 3rd period alone… not to diminish Gus’s effort because he was very solid, but he also got a little lucky too…
Yurov with an assist today for his 49th point, his last regular season game is on Monday.
Its UNREAL Kirill and Zuccy can still score on that 5-3 backdoor play! How do opposing teams not scout that before games?
Just to point out they did throw in a new wrinkle on that setup by hitting Boldy on a drop down 1 timer just before….

?
Check, Check,
Uggg Ek doesn’t normally crumble.
Yeah, that’s probably not good. Add another body to the injury list this season. Head/neck looked like they hit awkwardly and he didn’t look normal skating off.
Good solid game and Flower looked sharp. Not sure this team keeps up the pace if Ek is out.
I didnt watch much of the game that is just too late of a start, but just watched the recap KK and Boldy continue to be on fire. I will have to look for a vid of Ek getting hurt. That will suck if hes out, but reading this morning that he should be fine.
The Battle of Alberta was kicked up a notch last night! Good lord!
They are saying Ek is fine.
Boldy is money on that deke to the middle then backhand roof shot. He’s done that a few times lately.
Comments on the last 2 games.
Man, the Wild just have the Oilers number. Every time I start watching the game thinking this is going to 6 to 2 Oilers schooling of the Wild and then the Wild find a way to get it done.
Also, could Leon be any more of a crybaby? What a royal p%ssy. Cryin to the refs, yelling at the bench, pouting, whining, kvetching, moaning. He’s like a freaking teenaged girl.
What do we need to do to keep Boldy stoked up like this? He’s eiter hitting on all 8 cylinders or hitting on 1. There is no in between.
From the Seattle game, it’s just nice to see the Wild can keep their heads in the game and have the confidence to shake off a rough start and then not just win, but turn the game completely in their favor.
The Chisholm kid, I think he’s the real deal and not just playing out of his mind and then dropping off. I mean, it’s not like he’s some castoff that nobody wanted, the Jets were not happy to lose him and probably even less happy that the Wild grabbed him.
Also, the Wild 5:3. Finally! Lord it used to drive me FREAKING INSANE how they would wast 5:3s by passing the puck out by the blue line back and forth and allow the D and the goalie to see everything in front of them. LAME!
And so now we have 2 below the goal line setup and look at the difference. Night and day. So many options AND the goalie has to beware of the wraparound at the same time or KK will do what he did last night and just stuff it in.
Wonder how long it will take to get good info regarding when Marat is potentially signing? You’d think GMBG would have had this all setup and ready to go IF indeed he was signing?

Per The Athletic, I guess Maret’s contract like all KHL contracts, runs to April 30, so the Wild need to negotiate a release. For which I can see Sochi wanting something in return, which brings up an interesting point of what can the Wild do given the current sanctions.
Article in The Athletic today seems to indicate fair confidence in the Wild getting it done. Hope they do it, it would be exciting to see him play and a relief to get him out of Russia so that an escalation in Putin’s war wouldn’t potentially strand him in Russia.

just read it, nice to see Kirill is willing to help him with the transition…its easy to forget these are typically young kids who’ve never left the motherland before on their own…..
speaking of that Russo article, its nice to hear the Wild are serious about giving Riley Heidt at least a 9 game NHL look next season…with him only being 19 years old next year his only probable option is to play yet another season in the WHL , a league he’s absolutely dominated the past 2 seasons…so likely not alot of development will be going on there when he can basically do what he wants to on the ice…
I think the hint that Yurov camp has a plan of leveraging the KHL contract offer to get an agreement with GMBG for Danila to NOT play in the AHL if he comes over is legit…otherwise he would have likely already signed the KHL deal…
Sounds like GMBG is getting calls for Duhaime…
