Why do you think he has no value in Iowa? Iowa Wild want to win too, right. He seems like a good kid, positive attitude you want in the development program.

Beyond this year where does he fit? We have a multitude of guys coming to at least Iowa so he has little shot IMO. Guys like Litteiri, Luchini will likely all get sent back down to Iowa at that point.

As a leader in Iowa and potential call-up if needed. Lucchini, petan, fogarty could be gone this summer. And who knows, maybe Beckman improves or learns to be a solid PK guy or defensive player and is an NHL late bloomer. He’s 22. Why not keep him for the time being? They gain nothing by throwing him in the garbage.

He could turn into a Nick Petan type of player where the staff is comfortable calling him up at a moments notice for a multiple type of roles and he knows how to handle the situation vs a newb who craps his pants on his first shift…

But you yourself said that he is 5th in the team in points on a “terrible team”. Seems easily replaceable to me.

once you get past the first line in Iowa, you’re scraping the barrel of talent…this was supposed to be the year to develop the young Defense core (O’Rourke, Hunt, Lambos, Spacek, Masters) that all started their pro careers together in the last 2 years and then the offensive guys would be coming next 2 seasons (Marat K, Ohgren, Haight) next year and then the following year (Heidt, Kumpelianen, Stramel)…I think most Wild brass would agree this year in Iowa has been a train wreck (mostly due to Wild injury callups depleting the Iowa lineup so much, so often) but the young D have struggled quite a bit…hopefully its just growing pains…

With Hunt looking like a capable part of a Wild 3rd D pair next year and Lambos the only other D prospect with a likely NHL future, it kind of points to having more of a Defense focus this draft…Need to find guys who can be ready when Spurgeon and Brodin are done…

I think they need to draft a Spurgeon replacement or hope we have one in the system because I am not liking his chances with those two surgeries. I wont count him out, but he is small and that doesnt help the matter at all.

unless Lambos has a HUGE development progression next year, we dont have any potential top 4 D in our system….

Yeah it’s almost like being a leader in the AHL is different than deserving an NHL lineup spot.

Do the quotes mean you think Iowa isn’t terrible this year?

it will be interesting to see where the Athletic prospect guys rank the Wild’s prospect pool this year (They are currently at #22 New Jersey Devils)

They should lose Rossi & Faber to graduation this year, but still have Wallstedt…Key developments will be Yurov’s record breaking D+2 and Riley Heidt’s huge D+1 seasons…Stramel and Ohgren’s slow seasons will likely drag them down a bit…

With that much time they could almost finish a full episode of Letterkenny

Watching the Buffalo vs Blues game and Jordan Greenway is the same player he’s always been… great move by GMBG turning him into Riley Heidt…

Carolina is wearing vintage Hartford Whalers jerseys for tonight’s game vs Devils. They even wore green Cooperalls for warmups!

Haha. I turned it to that game just to see those jerseys after you posted this. They kind of remind me of the old school North Star jerseys.
