it’s still pretty rare he’s on the ice for a 5-5 goal against

you would be thinking wrong then. On ice for 19 even strength goals against since jan 1 (15 games), not great!!! Compare that with 23 goals against in the 35 games to start the season.

and how have the last 15 games gone for the team? How have the D pairs looked? I acknowledge that’s more than what I thought though…

Bad. What’s your point? Does that change the fact Faber is giving a lot back the other way since he started producing points?

It’s almost as if there’s 2 ends of the rink and it’s hard to be elite in one of them without sacrificing a bit in the other.

Yeah, Faber is terrible defensively. Yawn…..

Funny how nobody notices all the dah-ick-up’s and swing and misses by our all star. KK isn’t a cup contender player and never will be. He’s got zero finish, starts slow every year and is a turn over machine like I’ve never seen out of an all star. If BG wants a cup, trade him for a haul and get a real center on this team. A legit number one center should be an important goal going forward. Not all these utterly worthless wings who have zero ability to bury a puck. Boldy is utterly awful. Zuccy is well past his prime. KK did absolutely nothing against a horrible team, except turn the puck over and choke on every opportunity he had. He is a choke, turnover machine. His puck handling is fun to watch, …. till he turns it over. Which is 90% of the time. He’s the Kirk Cousins of the NHL. He’ll have great numbers at the end of his career, but not much else to show for it. Hope I’m absolutely wrong about KK, but to many signs not too start worrying a bit about what his career identity will be.

Well now that basseyes has applied his professional scout eyes to this thread we might as well shut it down.

Video of every goal for Danila Yurov this season sofar…he still has 7 games left? Can’t wait to see this kid in the NHL…really nice to see the full evolution of the plays he’s scoring on vs the 4 second Twitter clip highlights we’ve mostly seen, the kid is a hound on the puck and has great hands…he’s also got tree trunks for legs, so his power game should be good…

The 2 goals between 2:40-3:15 are special imo, shows a great work ethic….also worth noting the kid loves his empty net goals…

Beckman sent back down. Ugh. He should just be traded at this point he is going nowhere here.

22 year old “scoring” winger that’s 5th in points on a terrible AHL team and he doesn’t play physical, good defense, or kill penalties. Who’s gonna trade for him?

Well he has been hurt for a chunk of the season so that obviously cost him some points.

He’s at half a point per game in the AHL, for a guy who’s supposed to be a scorer.

The whole organization has been hurt. Beckman’s played 37 games, only 4 forwards have played more games than him with the team leader at 41 games.

Right. And maybe someday he will be, who knows. Right now he should just be thankful for a couple days worth of an NHL paycheck.

it’s all about opportunity, its why you see expansion teams seemingly pull rabbits out of hats with players left exposed who turn into good players (William Karlson, Jonathan Marchessaute, etc)

lots of factors go into success or lack there of…

Adam Beckman has done absolutely nothing in Pro Hockey to be considered an NHL level player. What opportunity should he get?? Those guys you name were established NHLers before going to Vegas.

It’s a cycle that the Beckman sympathizers will never be wrong about him though. If he doesn’t get NHL games, it’s the Team’s fault he wasn’t in the lineup. If he does get NHL games and doesn’t produce, it’s the team’s fault he wasn’t in top 6 and powerplay. They’ll never be wrong about him.

If he maybe changes his game. He is not a top 6 nhl player.

I agree that Beckman’s time in the Wild organization is likely over with, our current top 9 Wild forward contracts are mostly in place for multiple years and the boatload of prospects coming that will likely be given the opportunity over him to fill any open spots, some based on position (Marat K, Ohgren, Yurov, Haight, Heidt, Bankier, Stramel) He will either need to change his game (i’m sure the Wild Development team discussed that with him last offseason) or he needs to be moved to a different organization that has NHL playing time available to prove himself or not…obviously the Wild doesn’t…

He was drafted in the 3rd round as a goal scorer, Scoring 24 goals in 53 games last year in Iowa should have earned him more than 9 NHL games spread out over 3 callups with 11 minutes averaged TOI on mostly the 4th line, but the Wild were pretty set in their lineup the back half of last year…who knows, maybe the plan is to bring him back up and give him an extended shot if the Wild’s playoff hopes are confirmed dead in a few weeks and you start to see the typical “nagging injury” procedures take place for some veterans…

He certainly isn’t alone, i’d bet every NHL organization has players like Beckman that don’t have the NHL spots to give them an extended look…so they either continue to cook in the AHL or they get traded to a team with opportunity available…

He’s 22 and RFA this summer. I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep him through his RFA years. Seems like a really good kid and possible leader in Iowa. Maybe he takes steps forward in the next couple years, worst case he gives them some depth in Iowa and as a call-up guy. Why would they get rid of that for nothing right now?

yeah, there’s no rush and that’s how it will probably play out, but sometimes the Whiteboard in the GM’s office just spells out there’s no room for this kid, so let’s see if he’s moveable or an option to include to get a deal done…it can also come down to contract slots available, do they like a similar player(s) more? (like Sammy Walker) etc etc…
Like I said, if the season becomes lost soon, it will be telling if Beckman gets called up and given actual playing time or not…

Lines changed up again…at least they left the 4th line alone…

    Kirill – Ek – Boldy
    Johnasson – Rossi – Zuccy
Foligno – Hartman – Gaudreau (when does this slug get a pressbox game?)
    Dewey1 – Lucchini – Lettieri

There has to be value in trading him, there is no future for him on this team with the guys coming up if he hasnt been brought up yet.

Maybe Hynes can get a Evason face cutout put behind the bench so Freddy feels better coming off the ice…

    What would be that value?

Like TSW said it’s not as if Iowa is loaded with forward talent. They have to fill out a roster.

bawling I wonder if Freddy has gotten to see Deano since getting fired yet

That’s still the weirdest part of the coaching change. Both Freddy asking to see Evason and then Evason telling Russo about it.

Well he has no value here so how about future considerations?

Why do you think he has no value in Iowa? Iowa Wild want to win too, right. He seems like a good kid, positive attitude you want in the development program.

I wouldn’t say he doesn’t have value (he’s a proven AHL scorer at least) and likely would have been called up early this season if we weren’t so cap strapped…he’s an asset that we own until he’s an UFA, it will take a minimal contract to keep him a few more years… I agree that his Wild future is getting cloudier by the year, only so many spots to put guys in an organization…
