2022 WI Bear Tag

Just got my bear tag for the 2022 WI Bear season. I’ve only hunted bears 1 time back in 2014. Hoping to get another chance at a nice bear. It will be tough to beat the one I got in 2014.

Little jealous. I think I’m around 13 pts. Every year I want a tag I have other circumstances and put it off

That is a monster! How big?

I finally got my kill tag this year. Been putting in for the last 5 years and got one. Will be hunting up in the Luck, WI area.

I never had it weighed. My taxidermist estimated it to be about 500 lbs dressed. The skull measured 21.5 inches so it made Boone and Crockett.

I plan to hunt with bait again this time. So I wanted to wait until the baiters got first crack at them on Sept 7th.

I will be just east of you outside Cumberland. I’m already looking forward to starting to bait and checking out pictures.

Hey Mike,
Last time I used Cookies. I was able to get 2 55 gallon barrels from the Cookie Factory in River Falls. I don’t think that will be available now. I will most likely use Cookies again this year. Thanks to DeerTracker for the links. I will probably wait until about June to start shopping for my bait. Will try to find someplace that is closest to Cumberland if the price isn’t out of line. I will most likely only have 1 or 2 baits going.

The one thing I always loved about baiting, is you can snack on the bait while setting it.

I used Best Maid cookies last time also but I don’t think they do that anymore…oh well. I’ll ask my cousin where he gets his bait, he feeds them every year just to watch them.

I drew a tag this year as well

Found some tracks on our land from a good one, hope to see him this fall

I picked up 2 totes of chocolate chip cookies 2 weekends ago. Got my bait started last weekend. Heading up tonight and will get to see if it got hit this week. Hopefully will start getting some pictures.
