Looked at the cold forecast for the week and hit the ice for prime time last night. Nothing fast but the first couple landed and more missed for 2022.

nice one scott! its been 10 years since i been up that way and i heard that they are darker in Namakan and more golden in Kab. i have only fished Kab a few times and always found that weird since both lakes are connected.

Some Otter Tail Cty eyes this last weekend. Amazing how my ability to catch fish disappears when they are deep. Found them active shallow on weedlines and roaming sand after dark. Picked thru some nice eaters and threw back the girls over 20”. Shadow raps are hands down the best bait in my arsenal at the moment. Slips and leeches were okay.

Found a pile of fish in a hole adjacent shallow sand. Sniffed my leech and jig, jig raps and even a creek chub. Couldn’t get them to play. Bringing my A Game on Thursday.

Notice the livewell plug in the fish mouth. Noticed that after they went to play in the trash.

Last time I was on the water was October. Doubled in the first two minutes yesterday with a 16&17″ sauger. Gives you an idea how the rest of the day went.
.6 mph pepper chart pulse-r on 1.25 oz jig was the breadwinner.
