Heard an interesting take on the NFL and its hypocrisy. Remember the reactions when Tim Tebow would Kneel in prayer ? And now this…

He didn’t and doesn’t. If I remember correctly a few especially slow people were like if Kaepernick can kneel, why can’t Tebow? And everyone, the NFL included, were like cool, go ahead kneel and pray. Tons of guys have done it every Sunday for the entire history of the NFL.

Don’t even know what this take is supposed to mean. Guys take a knee and kneel all the time in the NFL…For a long time now. Some before the game some during and some at the end of a game.

Ya but, he read somewhere that Tebow was persecuted for being a christian so it must be true. Seems like the kind of guy who thinks saying “do your research” is a mic-drop moment.

A bunch of guys are having a good time talking football back and forth for 15 pages and then you bring up something from years ago, then tell others they’re butthurt?

I see you couldn’t resist. How is it what I posted not football related ? I didn’t realize this was an exclusive bunch of guys group chat… but I will take your word for it since you are so sure of everything.

I guess I don’t necessarily know the angle of your comments. All I know is a guy was dead on the field, recessitated back to life, and the team knelt in prayer. I thought that was pretty cool given the circumstances.

I think the 49ers/Sea Chickens should be a good game. I respect Pete Carrol as a head coach. If they can keep it close, will Purdy crack under pressure? This could be a white knuckler for 49er fans.

I don’t foresee the Seahawks keeping it close against the Niners. The two games I could see being competitive during Wild Card weekend are the Chargers/Jags and the Giants/Vikings.

On paper, every other matchup is a mismatch. Guess you never know which Cowboys or Bucs team is going to show up on MNF either.

There is no “angle” ? Just some observations a person had about when the NFL decides religion belongs in the NFL and when it doesn’t. smirk

If that’s all you know about it, that’s cool too. waytogo

But the NFL never said Tebow couldn’t kneel and pray, they’ve never said that to anyone. Players have kneeled and prayed before and after games since the dawn of the league. So you are bringing up a proven false statement from 10+ years ago. It’s ok to be duped, it’s another thing to not let it go.

As far as the playoffs go, I would not be surprised if the NFC East teams all go one and done. They got fat records from playing the AFC South, one NFC South Matchup (two worst divisions in football) and have been struggling down the stretch run.

I think many will be close games, hopefully not like the NCAA Championship game last night.

I’m leaning towards all the home teams, 49ers, Jags, Bills, Vikes, Bengals and Bucs. Chargers and Cowboys would be the one’s I’m closest to flipping on.

Can Purdy deal with the Pressure? They don’t score coming out of half-time. Methinks the 49ers are in real trouble.

I think they will be fine.

All I really cared was that McCaffrey rushed for over 76.5 yards grin woot

Thinking back on some of my comments at the beginning of the season… I was dead wrong on Seattle. They are much better than I thought they’d be. Still think the 49ers take this game, but they are putting up a fight.

Great game until the ref’s tipped the scales in the 49er’s direction with that questionable lineman downfield call. Carroll and the team lost their composure and got trounced after that.
