So, what do you do here? I am in the FFL finals and down by 5 with T Higgins and McPherson (Cincy kicker). When they stopped the game, I was down by 2.

I offered to split cash and give me the title. He offered to play week 18 and add points to week 17 (plus add average for Cincy players who didnt finish game, so I start with a 12 point lead). But he had Derrick Henry returning in a must win game and some of my top players might or might not play.

Make an agreement? Wait for commissioner to decide? What to do???

I don’t know, it’s a cluster f of the highest order. I’m treasurer in 2 leagues and spent most of the day yesterday listening to everyone airing the grievances like it was Festivus. We are waiting to see if that Bills-Cincy game gets finished, and if not going to split it. In one league a guy was up 18 with only Bills Def left for his opponent, so in that one they agreed to 60/40.

That is tough. I’m sure there are a lot of situations out there just like yours. I would make an agreement with the opponent and get your commissioner involved. Really no precedent here for a situation like this.

Yeah there are options out there and hopefully people can just be adults and realize there’s no great answer.

And at least that’s fantasy football. I know Goodell and the NFL catch a lot of heat on a good day but they have an enormous, historical decision to make this week. Of course all year long MNF has been bad and now that we’re in the week 17/18 stretch there is a ton of meaningless football being played, yet the one game affected by the unfortunate medical emergency affects a game with huge implications. Potentially playoff seeding & home field advantage at stake. So many options-call the game a tie for both teams? Call it a no-contest and they both just go with 16-game records and standings are based on winning percentages? That might be the way to go as you’re obviously not going to restart or make this game up.

That’s what I think they will do. Just one less game for those two teams and use winning percentage instead to determine seeds.

I’m in the championship of a 16 team league with $50 buy-in. I’m up by 58 points but they have Allen and Mixon. ESPN App gives me a 70% chance to win as of where the game left off. The other party offered to take the 1st and 2nd place spots’ $$$ and split them, and call us “co-champions.” I didn’t respond. I think my counter will be to split the $$$ and I’m titled Champion for this year.

And the NFL and fans will need to accept it as the best, neutral-for-both-sides decision to come out of an awful situation. I understand there will always be variables to point out as they were both good teams so each team potentially avoids a loss against a tough opponent. If you’re going to have a game voided and not count you’d rather it be against a team like the Chiefs compared to a team like the Texans right? It’s just gonna have to be the way it is. No one wanted to go through this situation, no one wanted to relocate from snowstorms or roof collapses on short notice, and no one wanted to have to deal with cancelling a weekend because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. A crazy situation will just have to come down to a situation like this and everyone moves on.

Yep, its really just another of one of those unpredictable events and there really is no way to deal with it.

He was giving his opinion of what he thinks occurred. Relax.

Exactly. He wasnt prescribing treatment or any medications, but stating an opinion based on being an expert in the field.

Do you guys get to pick and choose who is allowed to have an opinion ? I didn’t know you were the opinion police for IDO. The fact he starts off claiming its a rare condition that happened, and that it had nothing to do with vaccines… is more than an “opinion” when stated as facts. Some on here already declared the diagnosis based on his video so… there are impressionable people out there. smirk Lets wait for facts. Relax whistling

Not all opinions are created equal.

On the FF questions. Donate the entire league’s pot of money to Second Harvest and chalk the season up as a lesson: grown men should care a lot less about fantasy football.

I dont care about the money, that is why I offered to split it with him. I want the dang TITLE!!! Very competitive 16 team league with the same players for 30 years now.

I am quite sure with all the testing the NFL teams do and cardiac tests included that if he had Myocarditis caused by Covid infection prior or potentially a side affect of the vaccine they would have found that along the way. Ever hear of Marco Rossi? He had myocarditis that was found by the Wild medical staff upon him signing his rookie contract. Likely saved his life or at the very least his hockey career since they found it and shut him down.

Dave, I get it — but it’s still just a game that often comes down to luck. Yes, there is some skill involved in managing an auction budget and roster, but historically the most important statistic in our league is the number of points scored AGAINST you. Year in and year out, the teams that make the playoffs are not necessarily the ones who scored the most points over the course of the season, they just got lucky and racked up W’s by catching other teams on down weeks.

Haha. I hear that. The title is worth a lot more than the money to me too. I’m 0-6 in the final playoff match since we started in 2008. bawling

In all 3 of the leagues I’m in we have something to account for that, imo the best option is having the last playoff spot or 2 reserved for highest points not already in the playoffs. Like the NFL, anything can happen, and if it hasn’t yet, it will, so a way to balance out those anomaly’s is good imo.

I have never played FF. I dont have time to research all the players on byes, injured etc.My wife has been playing for years with her teacher coworkers and she is constantly complaining that she has starters that are either injured or on a Bye. LOL

    Its not for everyone.

We’ve kicked 3 people out since 2008 because they failed to update their lineups on a weekly basis. They would start injured players or players on bye almost every week.

Can’t even imagine them trying to do something like fantasy baseball where there is a lot more updating.

I am pretty sure Eyeguy won a crap load of money playing some kind of death row elimination fantasy football online. I swear it was like 90 grand or something.

Who said anything about myocarditis ? I simply said I think it is reckless to diagnose and rule out things by watching a slow motion video of an everyday tackle in football.

Fine, insert any other potential cardiac ailment that could have resulted in his heart stopping/cardiac arrest. It was a blunt force directly to his chest. The most likely candidate for causing his heart to stop was what that Dr said. Its happened before. Chris Pronger took a slapshot directly to the chest and he went into cardiac arrest. Do you have some alternate explanation for that?
