Brodin blocked a shot earlier in the game off his hand. He came back and played.

Is that the injury then? Really strange.

Don’t know how to record video but just found the play. Pasta put one off his bottom hand and it deflected out of play. Very innocent looking play and he finished the game after it. Would be crazy if he was actually out for the season from that play, but I’m also not going to argue with the guy who guessed KK’s signing within like 10 minutes.

At not point in that sequence did Brodin block a shot or look hurt so I’m not sure when the injury actually happened.

hmm, I thought I read it in a Russo tweet, I assumed it was true since he played the last 1/2 of the game after his first Pasta blocked shot…

I thought the same thing and was re-watching looking for the injury.

Holy fuk a sophomore in High School died during a high school hockey game in Connecticut last night. Makes me want to puke.

How terrible! So, he fell to the ice, another kid fell on him and as a result he died? Holy heck that is awful!

That might be the most annoying website to try and read an article. Sad deal for sure.

very sad…article didn’t mention a laceration injury so I assume it must have been a freak neck angle collision injury? Did anybody ever hear what the result was from Duhaime’s skate to Alec Martinez’s face earlier this season? I’m surprised that doesn’t happen alot more often in hockey, I’ll never get the video of Clint Malarchuk’s cut out of my mind…I remember the next day my Dad bought and forced me to wear a neck guard playing hockey…

I will never in a million years after seeing that believe that he survived. That was insane!

They never gave specifics, but he hasn’t played a game since that night. Has to be more than just a cut.

Russo on Barreiro just said that the Wild believe Brodin’s injury could be very severe. SOB

Ivory tower, just pray it is wrong.

You must be a damn insider with the Wild! Dang I hope this isnt true, but Russo just hinting that it could be severe.

The Wild have 9 games between today and February 24th (yes some of the previously cancelled games will likely be rescheduled during the planned Olympic break) but that’s alot of time for guys to heal with a less than normal game schedule.

Spurg and Ek are likely back in 2 weeks, Greenway and Duhaime likely back in a matter of days, all likely only missing 1-2 more games total.

More worried about KK and Brodin honestly. To me the two best and most important players on the team. They have survived without spurg (8 game win streak) and to some degree Ek. (They have a competent center to replace in the short term.)
If Brodin is out for the season that is a massive hole that in my mind can’t be filled. KK I am sure will be back at some point in the next month.

Yeah that’s what I’m getting at he has to have an inside which is cool but the truth really sucks in this case if true. Dangit. We need Brodin and obviously Kaprizov.

It looks like Alex Khovanov’s days in the Wild org could be done soon. The Wild’s ECHL team he plays for is playing with only 10 forwards tonight due to covid and injuries and they chose to make him a healthy scratch.

Its a shame he never had the desire to match his god given talents…

Cryptic Deano this morning says they “hope” Kirill is back by next game… same with Ek…. We’ll see, but sounds a bit promising…

Duhaime in tonight if he can fly back to MN from Boston in time today…

I read this morning that the skate blade cut his neck. Man that is awful. I can’t imagine witnessing that. In HS I collided with a guy and his skate blade cut through my jersey. Didn’t think anything of it and then a teammate said hey you’re bleeding! I had a 6 inch gash below my ribs with discernable edge grooves.

Our forward lines tonight look competitive, but my god our defense pairs…. Jordy Benn playing 1st pair with Dumba? Ovi could break Gretzky’s record tonight…

I am honestly not sure how catastrophic injuries with skate blades don’t occur more often. Every single player is cruising around at a high speed with razor sharp heavy gauge blades on their feet. You’d think it would occur way more than it does.

Yeah not sure about your statement on forward lines.
Anytime Rau and Rask are in the lineup it’s thin.
Kakko going to have to steal one tonight.

Well one was just waived and one is 29 year career AHL player. Shhh trying to rag on them and maybe one will score.

Well well well, what appeared to be a competent powerplay when you move the puck quickly and open shooting lanes… Sad that it took a rookie in his 2nd NHL game for us to figure it out… Boldy is a great PP guy!

I hear ya, Rau is a prototype 4th liner who gives it his all every shift and throws his weight around… Rask is Rask, 4th line out of our need for anybody healthy…

Ooof… will Deano bench Fiala with us already shorthanded? Lazy effort, Bad penalties and a turnover machine tonight…

Fiala hasn’t looked good.he needs to play a simple game when they are so shorthanded. Kaapo is playing great but we can’t have mistakes. Boldy and Rossi both look good.
