Call it a duel!“We are a duo”

I click refresh on Russo twitter feed every 5 minutes. LOL
Evason says Rossi and Boldy will be on the power play “because our player has sucked” LOL He’s right though!

The Iowa PP1 unit has been a joy to watch and is EXACTLY what you want your powerplay to look like, they move the puck so FAST from one side of the ice to the other that it pulls the defenders out of position and opens shooting lanes. Maybe Rossi and Boldy can bring some of that skillset to the Wild because it desparately needs it!
Just read that Dewar will also play on Thursday, sounds like Deano is sending a message to the bottom 6 guys as well…I’d love to see Gudreau sit in the press box but I don’t think that’s going to happen…
nevermind – Bjugstad got sashed in practice today and will be out awhile…
Add Bjustad to the Wild infirmary. Sounds like a slash from a teammate in practice. Zuccarello maybe.
Evason said this "didn't look good."
I'll say. Left the ice yelling in pain, apparently splintered stick as he left. Zuccarello ran after him feeling awful https://t.co/YDfThM56aW

Yeah, that doesnt sound good. Zuccarello did it no less and chased him off the ice to make sure he was OK. Unfortunately he wasnt.
Boldy and Rossi are saying all the right things in their pressers now. Boldy is going to have a ton of friends and family at Boston. Probably blow the whole signing bonus LOL
Sounds like Rossi’s family are going to be able to make it. Exciting for them after everything he’s gone through.
When the heck did the Wild sign Mcintyre? His prospects page never even got updated from Bruins and we apparently waived him too?
If Rask goes unclaimed and is sent to Iowa that frees up $1.5M in CapSpace I think. Perhaps a sign of some other moves on the horizon?
Or just free up the money paid to Rossi and Boldy?
He will go unclaimed is my guess.
McIntyre was signed today then put on waivers to be assigned to Iowa.

I didnt even see that they signed him so when Russo tweeted that we waived him I was like wut?!
They have plenty of cap space I think its around $3M so I wouldnt think they would have to do that for those guys.
I wouldnt be shocked if someone claimed Rask, but NOT at his current salary. It probably wouldnt be a claim, but a trade scenario and salary retention. Any picks in the next two drafts would be wonderful.
Curious how serious the Talbot injury is. Can’t imagine they are too comfy with KK and the Hamburgler.
Putting Rask on waivers (where he will NOT get picked) is just to save us from putting Pitlick on waivers where he likely would get picked…So we have a safe Iowa bumper player…

Agreed! I remember the play it happened. As with most goalie injuries it was lower body. Hoping its not a groin. Those are tough for goalies to recover from.

You gotta thinking it was just a muscle strain/tweak from the cold, the fact that he finished the period and then just decided not to go for the 3rd is encourging imo…

Why would they have to put Pitlick on waivers when Bjugstad is now injured?
I was talkng about in general if they wanted to replace somebody not injured with an Iowa guy, we don’t have anybody else who’s waivers exempt so there’s a risk in losing them if put on the list…

If they didnt have room for Pitlick I thought they could just put him to the Taxi Squad, but do they have to go on waivers first? I cant keep straight all these nuances. Regardless with Bjugstad out it wont matter now anyway.
I just remember the first few months after they picked up Pitlick and he wasn’t playing much the excuse for him still being with the big club was that he wouldn’t pass through waivers again, so keep him on or lose him, they stuck with him and he started to score…
yeah, I have no idea how covid taxi squads work, I think it’s funny the NHL had to tweak the taxi squad rules this season for due to some teams taking advantage and somehow banking capspace, my god these GM’s & capologists look for any loophole to take advantage of the situation… cat & mouse with Bill Daly for sure…
Rossi/Boldy combined cap hit is a hair over $3m due to their potential performance bonusses so someone had to go down to make room for Rossi, Boldy, and Dewar. I really don’t understand how the bonusses figure in throughout the year but I know it causes issues with callups because Perunovich was stuck in the AHL for a good chuck of the year because of it.
Taxi squad is basically the same as going to the AHL for the salary cap except the player doesn’t actually report to the AHL.
That’s kind of what I was thinking. I am going to have to get an updated program now with all the new numbers in the lineup Thursday.

Seriously why wouldn’t you. Get Johnny Goudreau out of there. Anybody know why we don’t run the second PP through Dumba anymore?
Ughhh Freddy Hockey is getting to be a problem… it’s not even his play, just that he’s on the ice way too much. He’s a fine 4th line player – responsible defensively and can play any position, but he’s basically a black hole offensively. Deano has a major man crush on him and he’s getting the 6th most ice of all forwards… more than Foligno, Greenway, Sturm, Duhaime, etc.
Sounds like Brodin is back from protocols as well. That should help.
Agree. If the weekness down the middle wasn’t glaring before The Ek injury is like a red beacon blaring now.
Wild just need to get a regularISH schedule rolling.
Who the hell is left in Iowa right now. They play tonight I believe. Army has to be like well boys good luck.
