LOL that was Hockey Night in Punjabi (yes that’s a real thing) which I believe that guy still does. I know he’s on one of the Canadian national broadcast teams anyway.

Have you checked to see if your TV manufacturer’s app downloads has the ESPN app? I have a Samsung LED TV and the ESPN+ is an app I can download directly into the tv’s interface, so I simply hit an source button until ESPN+ is highlighted and open it up…
Now if sombody can figure out how to eliminate all of the different sports that I have no interest in from the interface, that would be great. ESPN does have a favorites option, but that doesn’t eliminate anythign form the interface, I simply want to open the ESPN+ app and ONLY see sports I have interest in…not EU soccer, or College Basketball, or etc etc…
Have tickets for the game tonite. First one since we gave up our season tickets over two years ago. Really looking forward to it. They’ll rebound, if not tonite then soon. Good club and fun to watch. Really feel like all the pieces are there for a good run this year.

I’m getting the sense that the NHL in the Olympics won’t happen…if Omicron takes off and the Olympic quarentine rules don’t change, I don’t see NHL players taking that much unpaid timeoff… Bettman played it smart and took the NHL out of the equation, it’s all upto the players…Pieterangelo was one of the first players to question going now…still lots of questions needing answers so we’ll see…
I like the suggestion to just bring back the World Cup of Hockey every 4 years…keep the olympics for the amatuer athletes…
I’ll be listening to the radio broadcast with Tom Reid tonight and checking in on game center now and again. I enjoy listening to Tom Reid it’s actually a nice break on occasion.

I will have to look it up. I havent played around with it too much but cannot seem to locate a way to add apps or anything. Im sure its there somewhere, just evading me at the moment.
It is a Vizio Tv so perhaps its not as smart as a Samsung LOL
edit, it says all available apps are in “smartcast”, but its not listed there and I cannot add anything. It does say I can use the airdrop or whatever instead, but I think I will just use the Roku for now.
Gary, the NHL, and the NHLPA is doing a masterful job at marketing the players out of the Olympics. I haven’t read anything about a 3 week quarantine for a positive test anywhere but from the NHL. The 3 week quarantine is for unvaccinated athletes before the games begin, which is N/A to NHL players except Bertuzzi.
NHLers are going to go the Olympics, but the NHL is going to do their best to paint them as the bad guys and selfish for doing so.

LOL I have both Vizio and Samsung “sMaRt” TVs and they are equally dumb and worthless. Both are hooked to a Chromecast and/or Firestick and the “sMaRt” part of the TV is never used.
hmm, my Samsung is a 2018 QLED something model and has the Apps I installed show up directly onscreen when I hit my “home” button on the remote, Tap on ESPN and it opens, pretty easy, Lucky me because I wouldn’t have the patience to search for a separate remote and deal with yet another interface…
Now if I could just figure out how to eliminate sports and shows I don’t want to watch from displaying in the selection menu as clutter that would be a homerun!
I have the app through Amazon Fire. There is a ESPN+ tab you click on and there it is. $6.99 a month of course and because I’m in market I’m subject to blackout any way. Unless I do the Nord VPN thing or get ESPN+ through HULU the way I understand all this. Either way I’m done with breathlessly chasing this stuff all the time. If it’s not included with the hundreds of channels I’m already paying for I don’t need it. But I’m a old stubborn German!
The Wild are going to right the ship tonight. Dont ask me how I know unless they win.

No Aho certainly helps!

Sadly, I think this is the way of the future…with so many different hands in the cookie jar and content being leased out to whatever channel/app/stream wants to pay for it…

It does, but that’s not why I believe they are going to right the ship tonight. Arent those covid players stuck in Canada too? Man, that would suck. Not that Canada isnt great, just stuck away from the team and family.
Does anybody know if the WJC games will ONLY be on the NHL Network? and will they be doing their free channel preview during the duration of the tourney?

That is how they did it in the past I believe. Breaking news Jack Peart was recently added to the camp roster. Apparently he found out Friday, but I just read about it today.
Isnt looking good for a game tonight. More Canes test positive. They cannot call anyone up and were already going to be playing with 11 forwards prior to new positives.
Brodin’s back tonight! he said it wasn’t anything serious at all….Canes also forced to play a short roster due to capspace even if they had all their guys back though…so that’s what you get for not having any cap cushion…sucks but they made their bed…
There needs to be some investigation (if there is please link to it) into what it is specifically about Hockey that obviously increases transmission for fully vaccinated athletes. Is it the heavy breathing sitting on the bench? The glass hampering proper air circulation? Are they catching it from opposing team players? Is it even transmission happening at the rink or is it brought in from home like the NFL just concluded 86% of their cases are from DNA sequencing?
You would think genetic sequencing could narrow down some of these questions?? Science the $hit out of it!

Joe, the Bulls have I think 10 players in Covid protocol right now. Its not just hockey. There was some talk about the glass behind the benches last season hence why they took it out. Nothing they can do about that now that the arenas are full of fans. Indoors probably has something to do with it and perhaps the fact that a cool arena could condense the particles where they could come into contact with the breathing players who knows?

Seems like hockey is getting hit the hardest though doesnt it? I’m just curious if hockey specific factors are increasing cases?

Perhaps, but considering their games are all indoors has got to be one factor. I dont follow the NBA too much but I agree they would be more comparable. It would sort of be interesting to see if teams who share a facility with both NBA and NHL teams have a blip in covid cases for both teams? Like the Kings for example. Do the lakers/clippers have any cases along with Kings? Havent been looking, but the fact they play in the same facility might lead to some answers to those questions.

Man that blows, feel for ya.
Not sure what the deal is but there’s like 10 NHL teams that added players to the COVID list today alone.

There has been some studies. More so at youth level arenas. The air does not rise fall and dissipate inside and arena well. It kind of just hovers is the best way I can describe the study I read.

I have read a few articles that if they test positive there it may be anywhere from 2 weeks to 5 weeks. They also are considering putting them in a Chinese isolation hospital for 2 plus weeks to control it.
That would be hard pass for me.
I don’t see how the guys are going to willing to go knowing they won’t get paid if they test positive there when games resume here.
No doubt in my mind that someone will from the NHL…
