I don’t think it matters…they obviously elevate any center..
KK second leading scorer at wing in the whole NHL only behind maybe the greatest goal scorer in NHL history. Apparently he doesn’t like getting demoted to the third line.😳

Nice to see Rask finally getting some love here in MN. From the game last night.

And Fiala. What’s it going to take? Oh, I forgot, he’s a “slow starter”. Disregard.

The boys have some swagger to them that’s for sure! This is a new kind of Wild team we have never seen before and it’s not just KK racking up points. It’s a team that is actually playing as a team. Everyone is participating and Evason it would seem has a firm grip on the steering wheel. You hear the team talk about the leadership in the locker room and how they can make self corrections on their own and the leaders on the team are driving that.

I would say this is further evidence of the lack of player leadership in the past. It’s easy to see how much fun they are having playing together and helping each other on the ice. The game against Tampa I seen KK try to set up Fiala twice when he could have taken the shot himself. You could see KK wanted to help him break through. You could argue that’s not the right play that he should take the shot when it’s available instead of pass but I think it’s a great sign of something better. KK knows as everyone does I think that when Fiala breaks out of this which he will this team will be that much better.

I don’t know why the Wild would entertain any trades right now. Not the way things are going. Why risk any locker room disruption. Tomorrow night is going to be one heck of a fun game to watch and then it’s on to McDavid and company.

Yes, of course. You can see the family resemblance.

Also, that’s Uncle Leon Rask on the left. His choice of Wild sweaters will inevitably lead to some awkward explaining at the family Christmas gathering this year.

Russo was on Bumper to Bumper yesterday and he really made it seem like Parise and Suter were a big locker room cancer. He said when they both first got here that they wanted to get rid of high fives after scoring with the bench. He also mentioned how before the game how loose they are. Seems like more and more is coming out about the past leadership of the team.

Cool Wild are doing awesome. I’m thankful they are on the radio. While I dislike that they are not on tv (at least yet) at least there is no company that can take credit for their success/broadcast. Anyone know if these games can be streamed through NHL.com or something?

All NHL games can be streamed on ESPN+ and you need a VPN or else the Wild games are blacked out. Both require subscription.

Yeah when we are all saying “imagine this team when KK and Fiala start scoring”. Well one of them did and that seems to be the difference right now.

They’re really rolling right now with some impressive team wins and their best player being the best player. This Leafs game will be a great measuring stick.

Look bottom line the culture needed to change because it became stale. I am sure Koivu Parise and Suter in their younger years were fine captains. With the same results year after year the message becomes stale guys form their little cliques and when success doesn’t continue it becomes an issue. It is the same thing for a head coach. I am sure BB was a fine coach but gets harder and harder to buy in year after year without have some post season success.

I think it is time to move on to the next chapter of the wild and enjoy the team as is. Because they have a different locker room coach now doesn’t mean squat unless they have some post season success. Not saying they have to win a cup but the need to show some progress. There is no magic formula when things click they just click.
New era new team new coach and hopefully different results.

Go Wild Saturday should be a fun game with the two hottest teams in the league.

That’s the first thing Billy G noticed and you can clearly see he has changed it. This team is fun to watch and you can tell they are having fun. Lets hope they can continue the success because the season is very young still.

This Saturday will be a fun one to watch!

So using ESPN+ is there a Firestick or other box that allows you to stream to a regular TV? Or can you only watch it on a mobile device?

Only thing that would derail this team is injuries…Most playoff teams in the NHL are damn near in by thanksgiving. Outside of a team that starts off really slow and a few battles for the last spot or two.
Just how good this team becomes remains to be seen. That is what the rest of the year consist of.

I dont have a firestick so I cant answer that, but I know you can do it on a Roku because I watched the game in Anaheim or whichever one it was that way. You will per Joe and others however need a VPN if its an “in market” home game or it will be blacked out.

100%. Only team I can think of that made the playoffs that wasnt in contention at this time of year recently was St Louis the year they won the Cup. They were terrible in the first half and I think near last place in the Conference.

I think it’s a given the Wild make the playoffs, just a matter of what they do when they get there. The rest of the season is about establishing consistency and showing this is their baseline and not just a 10-15 game hot streak. Team and fan base are way past being sick of 1 and dones.

I use a firestick and stream every wild game on my TV through ESPN+ using NordVPN to bypass the blackout. A VPN does not work with a Chromecast but works seamlessly with firestick because you can download the NordVPN app straight to the firestick. There’s a bunch of other VPN apps available as well.

as mentioned before, injuries about the only thing that can derail this team (you can say that about any team though) that and maybe lack of extensive playoff experiance, but I think the Vegas series really taught them a good lesson last year… The fact that they can roll 4 effective lines is HUGE and IF Fiala gets going, teams can’t just focus on Kaprizov…We’ll learn if this team is absolutely for real in the next 2 weeks with tough games against the Leafs, Hurricanes, Oilers, Golden Knights and Panthers..

Totally agree. It’s easy to have a great locker room culture when the team is winning. So going back to the “it must have been all Suter and Parise” narrative is neither here nor there. Different team, different coach, different players. The proof is in the pudding, can the Wild take the best team they’ve had in years and actually DO something with it in terms of getting deep in the playoffs? Time to just move on.

With the usual caveat that it’s still early, blah, blah, IMO this season is the Wild’s big chance to make a deep run. I honestly feel like the west could be winnable by this Wild team. I haven’t seen that kind of play before such that I thought the Wild had a legit shot at the conference finals, it was always just a hope to get out of the first round and no real expectation beyond that.

We need no major injuries, we need Fiala to get going, we need the goaltending not to collapse.

The West is absolutely winnable. Partly because the Wild are good, but even moreso because the West is terrible. Last season the West was won by an Eastern Conf. team. Lot’s can change between now and the playoffs, but so far the best teams in the West have all gotten worse since last season besides the Wild.

    VGK is an injury mess.
    Colorado doesn’t have a goalie.
The oilers are reliant on a powerplay that won’t get calls in the playoffs.
Calgary is riding old man Sutter energy.
The middle of the central is a jumbled mess like usual.

Think back to the peak Suter/Parise years and that was also at the peak of the Blackhawks and when the California teams were actually good. The West was a battlefield back then.

This is free (probably illegal though). If you have a web browser on your tv or streaming device (stick), you can go to this site and stream the game. The picture is actually pretty good. The site is popup heavy though. Can be a little frustrating getting the game on but once you do no popups while watching. No commercials either. You can watch the home or away broadcast if you like too.

Completely off topic – anybody know why the warmup nets used for Wild games have what appears to be black fabric padding on the bottom foot of the posts? Is it to eliminate wicked deflections with so many players shooting at once? Maybe its something totally obvious I’m not thinking of???

I don’t remember seeing that before, but its been a few years since I watched a game in person…

I asked one of the ice crew, he said it’s to protect the goalies skates during warmups.

The Wild’s top 4 Defense prospects (Carson Lambos,Doemen Hunt, Ryan O’Rourke,Jack Peart) are all absolutely lighting it up this year and are either close to or surpassing 1ppg.

Lambos, Hunt and O’Rourke recently were picked for the exclusive Team Canada WJC tryout camp and most experts expect them all to actually make the team! (1/2 the WJC team’s D from one NHL team? Never happened before?) Jack Peart had an injury early on but has bounced back into form including 3 assists last night against NoDak.

The Wild’s Defense future looks super bright!

Sorry to turn you into tech support, but really trying to figure this out before I cut the cord.

Are you going to the NordVPN website and then watching ESPN+ on the Amazon web browser? Or are you side-loading the ESPN+ app and somehow pointing it through the VPN?

Appreciate the help, all this streaming service crap where there are all these can/can’t do rules drives me crazy. I THINK ESPN+ may be my solution if I can figure out how to get it to the big screen because watching games on my phone is BS.

I dont have a firestick so I cant answer that, but I know you can do it on a Roku because I watched the game in Anaheim or whichever one it was that way. You will per Joe and others however need a VPN if its an “in market” home game or it will be blacked out.

Thanks. This might be plan B, but before I buy more boxes/dongles/plugins, etc, etc, I’d love to actually get something online to work with tech I already have.

I guess I would just preface by saying the VPN workaround is a great solution right now BUT these content provider companies (ESPN, BSN, NBCSN) always find ways to patch the loopholes via app updates they can force you to install, so its a constant cat & mouse game you need to be willing to play.

A Good recent example is the FSN App upgrading to the Ballys app and no longer supporting the HDMI pass through functionality from mobile to tv so you can watch full screen.
