Deano called him fat.
Pretty sure that was just a joke that the Wild TV crew caught Deano saying to him on the ice in regards to Kirill being in self quaretine for 10 days in a Florida hotel room and put into one of thier videos…Kirill is absolutely chiseled…
When you are sitting in a hotel room for 2 weeks while the rest of the team is at training camp you are going to be out of hockey shape and off to a slowish start.

It was definitely a joke, as was my post. KK’s reaction was pretty funny.
Good article here on Rossi – https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/wild-top-prospect-marco-rossi-is-healthy-and-thriving-in-the-ahl-after-covid-scare/
Rossi is going to be something special. Can see him taking on a Pettersson-like role in the coming years
Read Russo’s mailbag today. Sounds like a lot of good things happening down in Iowa and Wallstedt is playing really well in Sweden also. Said they’ll most likely sign him and have him in Iowa next season.
Really nice to hear prospects are doing well. Doesn’t happen too often for MN teams.
Yep and with heavy focus on Defense and Goalie positions the last 2 drafts, they can focus on forwards in whats widely considered 2 of the better draft classes in a long time the next 2 years…
Ah man, Gigi is in the booth tonight…..
I said the same thing myself…

I honestly thought she could be good, but man she has a hard time getting through sentences….
Dumba…….Jesus.
Get’s back into the play late because he jumped into the rush but goes for a hit away from the play instead of going back to where he should be….

yeah that was just bad bad bad…pi$$pore effort by Kaprizov and Gudreau too
Greenway is playing like he needs to every night. Who knows if he’ll play like this all night but it’s a start. Use the body!!
Evason must be ready for Dumba to go south and Addison to move north.
Well that got out of hand fast. None of our “stars” showed up again….
82 games a season you’re gonna have a stinker or two, give the Sharks some credit, their defense was suffocating all night!

I agree the Sharks came ready to play and the Wild did not. Talbot did not have his best game. Maybe Kaako in against Dallas? Tough road trip coming so it might be good to let Talbot sit tommorrow night. Fiala got a chunk of ice time last night. More than any other forward. 19:37 it seemed more than that and KK 18:37. So it’s not lack of ice team holding either of these two back.
Dallas is going to be no pushover tomorrow night and then a tough three game road trip. Buckle up!
I kind of expected a tight game by the Sharks, their last to games they lost 4-1 (Jets) and 6-2 (Avs), not to mention 3 days off. Guessing they got a pretty good butt chewing during those days and had a couple hard practices.
One team the Wild might want to consider calling is the struggling Vancouver Canucks, who are off to a poor start this season with pressure ratcheting up big time. General manager Jim Benning reportedly met with his owner Tuesday, and though reports are the Canucks plan to be patient with coach Travis Green behind the bench and cracking into the roster by trading players out of there, you know the way NHL teams work.
When they smell blood, they always circle like vultures and now might be the time for the Wild to investigate centers such as J.T. Miller, 28, and perhaps even Bo Horvat, 26.
Miller has two years left on his contract at $5.25 million, Horvat at $5.5 million.
Miller makes a ton of sense because he’s previously played with Zuccarello, he’s great in the faceoff circle and brings speed and offense. Not that Horvat doesn’t, but the Canucks might be more willing to part with Miller. For the Wild to take on a $5 million-plus center with two years left on his deal, it would definitely have to be a dollar-in, dollar-out-type move, which would mean that any big trade Guerin considers, he’d likely have to give up a big-name player like Fiala off the Wild’s roster.
Interesting nugget from Russo.

I would seriously look at it if I was GMBG and it’s a legit possibility (Russo is just speculating) I’ve lost confidence in Fiala (especially with the likley $ he’ll command) and with Boldy and Beckman likley full time NHLers next year, you’re going to need some open top 6 spots…Miller or Horvat would solve our 1C/2C need and their next contract would come up when Dumba goes off the books…
I’m not sure if Russo really looked at the Canucks cap situation when he thought of this trade scanerio though…They are max capped right now and have a big decision on Brock Boeser next year with a tight cap, Fiala’s minimum arbitration offer next year is like $6.5…
Russo was commenting on this scenario before the game or in between periods last night. Horvat is a little younger, but I think Miller brings more. Either would help tremendously because you’re not trotting out Gaudreau on the top line.
I have seen enough of Gaudreau to know the guy just doesn’t net the puck. His skills are fine. He can skate stick handle and has a little wiggle in his game but dude just doesn’t score.
I know Russo is just speculating, but thought I would throw it out there for discussion.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Hartman in the role a little more.

Gaudreau has NEVER scored (outside of a short 3 goal spurt in the playoffs a few years ago) GMBG swung and missed in terms of hoping Gaudreau could be more than what he’s always been, a fringe NHLer/4th line guy…The good news is that it’s not an expensive mistake and he could easily center the 4th line for the next 2 years…
