2022 MN WILD/NHL THREAD

You guys see that the NHL has come out and said they will leave the matter of paying for counseling of the Michigan player abused by Aldrich “up to the Blackhawks to deal with”?
The NHL had a chance to do something right again and chose to look the other way. Disgusting. Fehr and Bettman should be gone. If they are appointed by the owners, they should be removed.

The Blackhawks were the offending team so they should bear the brunt but the NHL handled this poorly from the start. It won’t be too long we will see Quennville behind a bench somewhere, the NHL totally left the door open for that to happen.

    Just billionaires being billionaires.

I don’t think safe sport gets paid off in the BG incident. They are pretty big operation now and have a huge reputation to protect. Whether BG has any fault in the incident is a different story.

Just saying, but the timing on this Pen’s lawsuit popping up in the media again and a quick settlement has a money grab stink to it.

Prospect Report! Rossi on fire. 5 game point streak with 2 goals and 5 assists. Seems like he may be feeling a bit better ;-)

Do you think if he absolutely lights it up for the first couple months there is any way the Wild bring him up and let him play more than the ten games or whatever he’s allotted to keep his status the same?

I think that would take long term injuries to multiple players… 2 of Ek, Hartman, Gaudreau, and Sturm. There’s like 7 guys that Deano will play at center and he’s comfortable playing anyone but Sturm between KK and Zuccy.

Sure is nice to see Rossi off to a good start though!

Ek snipe and not from 1.5 ft. And holy crap a 1PP goal.
    I love Darren Pang.

I swear every time we talk trash about Ek in this thread he scores. rotflol
Maybe he is really the famous grouse.

Out of all the guys that can play center Gaudreau was not who I would have thought would be between KK and Zucc.

That was a nice shot for sure, it was outside of his 3’ shooting zone too!

KK, Fiala and Kakko need to get their confidence built up against the yotes.

Bizz is pretty entertaining. I feel worse for Chychrun being stuck there as a young stud than Kessel wrapping up his career.

I think you misread the NOT feel bad part. rotflol
Well Fiala got his now KK turn.
Kakko could probably just lay on the ice at this point.
I’d put my money on Iowa wild vs yotes in a 7 game series.

They are flying tonight. Hoping it’s not just because the yotes are that bad.

Haha KK PP goal was like a squirt play just passing behind the net. Yotes are better than a practice session. Confidence builder by all guys I mentioned.

not sure i’ve ever seen that set play on a 5-3 powerplay before! Pretty genius if you have the skilled players to pull it off, that stick speed by Kaprizov is elite! I bet you see other teams copy it, I could totally see McJesus and Draisaitl do it…

Come on now that play doesn’t work but in squirts. Every skilled team is running a triangle with two down low. Your only pass if played right is outside or high. Yotes were running an upside down triangle.
    Teams copying Wild PP…Yes… rotflol

Set is one thing…scoring like that isn’t happening against any team beside the yotes without some bounce or deflection.

So they are getting close to a record where they only have to play 500% hockey the rest of the way and they are in the playoffs. I think most of us would agree that the effort this team makes this year it’s a fairly safe bet. (Barring injuries to the wild and other teams) If you are BG knowing what financial restraints you have the next handful of years,( some prospects you have now) are you looking ahead to trade options this year being you have a little cap room to play with more so if you can move part of Rask contract and try and make a run this year and reset next year when you know you are going to lose at least one valuable piece. Looking at a guy like Hertl or a few other centers. Malkin? How much pressure does the owner put on knowing he has lost some money the last two years? How much pressure for BG to make a statement? Yes I know it’s early in the season but with the other MN teams, well you know. Is this a strike while the iron is hot situation.

I don’t think GMBG makes any big moves for rentals, I think he really likes the picks Judd Brackett has made the past 2 drafts and doesn’t want to kneecap him with 2 of the best draft classes in many years coming up….they also have callup guys in Iowa who could make impacts at the end of the year (Addison, Boldy, Beckman, maybe Rossi for 9 games) Their biggest need is at 1C and the price will just be too high to pay for it…

I do think Greenway could get traded at any time this season if a good offer comes in…Duhaime has proved he can replace him on the 3rd line. I think if they could find anybody willing to take Rask WITHOUT including a sub 7th round draft pick incentive they would do it, they would even retain (25% or 50%) some of his salary too…that capspace could be used to trade for a better bottom 6 defenseman…

Gross turnover by Dumba to Crouse. Kaako had to came up with a stellar glove save to keep it out of the net. Dumba drop pass to Greenway didn’t have enough on it and darn near put it on Jaskin’s stick before making it’s way to Greenway. Which led to the turnover and the goal scored by Ladd on the breakaway.

He did not have a good game last night. The Yotes are ghastly bad.
