I suppose there has been some passion. But not much. For years it drove me crazy that the Wild would get plastered up and down the boards, cheap shotted, and no one would do anything about it. Happened for years. Not much emotion, boring, go through the motions effort. Remember all those games that the team wouldn’t show up to play until five minutes left in the game and lose by a goal?

Not this team. The culture has been effectively changed and I’m extremely happy about it.

Russo on KFAN today was talking about how its been so fun to watch EK become the player he is and how much better he could get. He normally doesn’t gush over a player like he did today. I’m sure glad he is becoming a better player because I’ll admit I use not think he would develop at all.

Unless it’s Duhaime. He’s all he would talk about in the preseason. jester

Not sure if it’s been mentioned, but how about Kirill causing a big kerfuffle with the flying elbow to 6’7″ Logan Stanley. If Stanley was 2″ shorter, Kirill would probably get a call from the DoPS on that one.

Foligno’s thoughts: “I don’t know if you saw, but he tried to chop down a big tree out there.”

Yeah the fact that KK is a smiling happy Russian and not an angry looking one is great. I also think it’s going to urine players off that he is always smiling like he almost knows something you don’t. You could tell from his first shift he was pretty jacked up last night. Pretty much everyone was asked about the jets going after him and everyone was basically like trust me this dude is strong and extremely strong on his skates.
Coach almost made it sound like yeah go for it he’s going to make you look silly if you do.

Yeah all of this is true but after seeing the slashes he took on one shift and him eventually crashing into the boards they need to rethink that. A penalty was called, but there were like 5 on the play before he took the dangerous tumble into the boards.

And he double shifted and stayed on the ice for the game winner. jester Just saying for his size and demeanor he is a pretty tough kid.
You are not going to change the way he plays and you can only protect someone so much.

KK is going to be heavily targeted this year and it remains to be seen how it will effect his performance and attitude down the road. His durability is going to be tested all year. That was a very awkward hit into the boards he took and could have just as easily gone bad for him. Those first few seconds after the hit when he was laying on the ice it looked like it went bad. Got lucky, hopefully he can stay that way.

I agree. He’s got a target on his back now and other teams know he’s the most dangerous offensive threat. Obviously a lot of teams have never even played against him yet, since last year’s scheduling was altered.

My Brother went to the Blackhawks game last night. He said the fans there are already jumping ship 4 games into the season. Tickets on the club level are going for 10 bucks. What a dumpster fire

Lol that’s great, #firecolliton is trending on Twitter. Blackhawks had big expectations coming into the season after blowing up their rebuild. They’ve been terrible so far.

I also saw a bunch of Jets fans saying fire Paul Maurice… that one surprised me.

Old news but it was the nhl investigating this before I believe. Now it’s basically USA hockey. Safe sport is independent USA hockey company that every youth through at least college olympics has to sign off on.
Just took the 4 hour training last week to coach my kiddo.

Yeah it’s because he’s AGM for the Olympics… which makes you wonder why SafeSport isn’t investigating Bowman as well? SafeSport covers all US amateur athletics, not just hockey.

Nothing new to the story, just that it’s getting media attention again with this new investigation.

Correct covers US athletics. Just meant it doesn’t cover professional sports. I think we are agreeing/seeing the same thing. See what comes of it.

This sofar has to be Kaprizov’s worst game for the Wild, he’s been a turnover machine, that being said he’s also been close to a couple assists and a crossbar.

Duhaime looked like he seen Bigfoot when he seen that puck in the net! lol Had no clue how it got there but everyone was congratulating him so hey I’ll take it! KK looked like he was wondering if he left the oven on at home all night last night and Fiala still can’t lose that snake that keeps biting him.

No points for the top line but they still win. That’s a good sign!

Wild are going to have to figure out how to play D and stop giving up 4-5 goals a game. Especially against the likes of the Kings and Ducks, although the Ducks look much improved.

The D seems easily confused and Cam has been just good enough although there have been a few that looked pretty soft. Imo he’s playing C- hockey right now and that’s not going to cut it for long.

Call me Mr. Killjoy, but I’d like a little less in the way of OT heroics and a little more of some 4-1 leads going into the last frame.

On the o’fense side, Fiala is going to have to get it together or risk becoming the new Charlie Coyle. Potential doesn’t feed the bulldog forever.

Zuc has just been terrific. What a pro. And Ek has just become terrific.

Surprisingly i’d put most of the blame for our 8 goals given up at home on our penalty kill, Cam Talbot and our lazy forward defensive coverage, our Defenseman have played pretty well… Our penalty killers left huge holes in the high slot that resulted in 2-3 goals, i’d say another 2-3 of those goals Cam stops 99% of the time, so those were softies…forwards have been lazy with their d-zone coverages, especially our centers, we’re also taking way too many lazy stick penalties…Deano & staff will clean it all up…

It’s Ek and Foligno stinking up the PK. I’m not sure that pair has actually killed one off yet. Fiala and Gaudreau have been very good on the kill.

This penalty kill is terrible. Letting guys go wherever they want to.

Yes, I’m talking about playing D as in the whole package including the pk, not just the play of the D men.

Absolutely stinking it up against Nashville. Giving up 2 pp goals in the first 6 mins. Awful.

Is it just me or does Kaprizov look like he’s lost 1 or 2 gears since the Jets game? He has no explosiveness lately..

Greenway…are they able to send him to Iowa without risking losing him? He has been bad. Bad. Looks incredibly unmotivated. Iowa might wake him up. Or some healthy scratches.

nope, he’d get plucked off waivers…I thought he’s looked like one of the better Wild players tonight, that’s not much of a compliment tonight though…

Looks like Khakonen is using the same glove he had last year. The one with the hole in it.

They weren’t all his fault but it seems like he whiffs on a lot of glove side shots.
