I am all in on Ek. I love him. I hope he scores 40 goals from less than 5′ alllll year long.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785October 19, 2021 at 8:00 pm #2068438Well that was a fun period… this team is so adaptable now…you want to skate, we can skate…you want to throw some weight around, we can do that too!

He certainly could!
October 19, 2021 at 8:11 pm #2068441That Foligno Dillon fight is definitely going to get the boys over at hockeyfights.com riled up.
October 19, 2021 at 8:16 pm #2068443We need the Big Rig to play with the same emotion Foligno has! He’d be unstoppable… not seeing much from him sofar…
October 19, 2021 at 8:26 pm #2068446Buffalo is 3-0.
Maybe the Sabres aren’t who we thought they were?
RipjiggenPosts: 11588October 19, 2021 at 8:27 pm #2068447Shoot the puck KK. He stopped a wide open net on his backcheck.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785October 19, 2021 at 8:29 pm #2068448Shoot the puck KK
yeah he should have shot that last one. Otherwise good game.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785RipjiggenPosts: 11588October 19, 2021 at 8:31 pm #2068450Or like the last three..yeah he is playing great just being a little to fancy right now.
October 19, 2021 at 8:38 pm #2068451He went through this last year too early in the season, was always pass first…
RipjiggenPosts: 11588October 19, 2021 at 8:47 pm #2068452Brodin stone hands.
Been some big saves and soft goals this game.
October 19, 2021 at 8:51 pm #2068453Its great to see a finally healthy Zuccarello for the Wild, that signing was looking like a big mistake for awhile… He’s a great puck distributor for a team that desperately needed one…

yeah, both goalies all over the place tonight (both good & bad)
RipjiggenPosts: 11588October 19, 2021 at 9:02 pm #2068456Man was Foligno close to landing that jump punch square on Dillon.
RipjiggenPosts: 11588tswobodaPosts: 8515October 19, 2021 at 9:25 pm #2068467Need the goalie to make a save. I’m not saying this one’s on Talbot… but he’s getting sniped tonight.
October 19, 2021 at 9:26 pm #2068468It was a rule change to the contracts roughly a year after they signed. If the contracts would have stayed the same this would be a mute point right now. I am not sure why you blame chuck for the length of contract. I know you hate all GM’s but honestly any other GM would have done the same thing at the time.
Sorry, but you have a poor memory of the situation.
Even at the time of the signing there were raised eyebrows around the league at the long term Fletcher signed them to. No other GM was offering 13 year deals and even before the rule change it was highly risky because the odds of them both playing even 10 years would have been a risky bet
I don’t hate all GMs. You seem to be Wild’s official GM apologist. So you think the Wild have had A grade talent in the GM office the whole time? You’re putting Chuck up there with the best of the best. Interesting.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785October 19, 2021 at 9:31 pm #2068471Yeah really undisciplined tonight. No support on D in the third either.
RipjiggenPosts: 11588October 19, 2021 at 9:32 pm #2068472Yup that’s what I said Grouse.👍
Sorry moved on. I am watching an entertaining game right now.

Grouse there were other teams who offered more money at the same term for Parise at the very least. Detroit was one of them.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22785tswobodaPosts: 8515October 19, 2021 at 9:43 pm #2068479Fiala’s off tonight too. Mishandling pucks and forcing shots. I can’t believe dumba hasn’t scored yet.

Maybe not as poor as yours. May want to lay off the famous grouse.
In the summer of 2012, the Wings were trying to ameliorate the retirement of Nicklas Lidstrom. Their top target was defenseman Ryan Suter. General manager Ken Holland, owner Mike Ilitch, coach Mike Babcock and executive advisor Chris Chelios met with Suter at his farm in Madison, Wisconsin, on July 3, offering $90 million over 13 years to the 27-year-old
Do you think Nashville thought Shea Webber was going to play for 14 years?
Do you not remember Kolvalchuck’s 17 year contract that got rejected and turned into a 15 year after playing 8 years in the NHL already. He would have been 45 at the end of his contract that would have had 500,000 cap hit.
Their were long term front loaded contracts happening all over.
Hossa Brad Richards.
Hell Luongo signed a 12 year deal at 30.
The cap advantage recapture penalty didn’t come until after the new CBA that started in 2013 after the lockout. Which was after they were signed. They were never expected to play out there contract. Not an apologist just a realist.
