Solid win. Perfect season still intact for the 1st place Wild
Refs were terrible.
Another solid game by Gaudreau.
Fiala all over the ice tonight.
Hartman and Sturm lines very strong tonight.
Love how DD called KK overpaid. As if the is not the pot calling the kettle black.
I’m going to keep posting about this until it changes lol.
Buffalo is 2-0 and still on pace to go 82-0.
I finally got a chance to watch the 2 Wild games on replay, wow Duhaime is really playing well! It will be interesting to see what his ceiling eventually is!
Rossi scored his first goal tonight for Iowa, it was a pretty nice goal!
After 3 games Ryan Suter has 1 Powerplay assist, is a -3 and averages 23 minutes of icetime a night…
After 2 games Parise has 0 points, is -1 and averages 14 minutes of icetime a night…
I’ve always said I fully expect Suter to play well most of this season before he starts to show some slowdown at the end of the year and then dramatically slide in future years…
I expect Parise to be a usable 4th line guy but then fizzle out at the end of the year (the Olympic break will help him out though)
^^^No mention of Suter giving Marchand the penalty shot against the Bruins? Very Suter-esque play and then barking at the ref.
That’s classic Suter! The cross check across the back textbook him.
Turns out we just need a bunch of Mathew Tkachuk’s around the glass to keep the pucks from being shot out of the rink…pretty crazy play last night I’ve never seen before…
oh and Kucherov is now out “Indefinitely” so queue up the conspiracy theories!
and how dumb is Evander Kane…my god….
I’m worried that his story will end tragically as his gambling debts will eventually find the wrong types of people…especially if his only hockey alternative is the KHL…

Having a little trouble letting it go, guys?
It wasn’t Suter or Parise that screwed the franchise. It was another one of our low-grade general managers handing out contracts that were way too long that screwed the franchise.
Players decline with age. I didn’t think that was a news flash. It all goes back to who made the mistake here? We are stuck paying these guys in their declining years not because of something they did, but because something Chuck Fletcher did.
I think there is more to this Kane saga like perhaps substance abuse. I havent heard it reported or even suggested, but downward spirals rarely are without some sort of addition. I suppose gambling could be the sole addiction but usually those happen after another one.
What did Tkatchuk get a penalty for? I didnt listen to the audio but surely was wild and I thought genius.
I think E-Kane’s been an idiot since forever and this is just the culmination of everything catching up with him. He’s burned bridges everywhere he’s gone since coming into the league. Didn’t big buff call him a little boy that needs to be punished, or something like that?
The vax card thing was likely reported to the league by the Sharks. They want him gone and are going to do everything they can to take him down without having to buy him out.
Tkatchuk made the refs invent a new rule on the fly, all so they could protect their precious puck over glass rule. That was pretty funny.

He got an “Bench-Interference” penalty, I’ve seen that call made before when bench players grab opposing players when fights happen along the bench boards…I also believe somebody got called for it one time for squirting a water bottle at somebody? (although that might have just been a 10 minute misconduct?)

I’m always baffled when a fanbase turns on a player (in any sport) that brought them years of production and/or success. It reminds me of Brett Favre and the Packers. The second he left, Packer Nation brought out the pitch forks. The guy won 3 MVPs and a Super Bowl there and compiled how many years of quality football measured by raw stats that led to many successful seasons. And yet, fans hated his guts when he left.
The one thing none of these players can defy is father time (except for maybe Tom Brady). The game will catch up to you eventually. I do think it was time to let both of them go for the amount of money they were making based on their production, but to blame them for their decline in productivity is foolish.

at the time Chuck signed the deals, per the league contract rules, they would have been sent out to pasture after this season with miniscule caphits the remaining years… I put ZERO blame on Chuck Fletcher, in all fairness (it appears) he predicted their regression pretty well (just off by 1+ year with Parise) Suter is still tbd…
I think all fans are just interested in seeing if GMBG’s gamble pays off…I think it’s pretty evident that from a team culture perspective, it already is… The team performance side is obviously tbd…

I completely disagree. It was a rule change to the contracts roughly a year after they signed. If the contracts would have stayed the same this would be a mute point right now. I am not sure why you blame chuck for the length of contract. I know you hate all GM’s but honestly any other GM would have done the same thing at the time.
Anyway moving on.
Looking forward to a packed house tonight at the X. Haven’t seen a lineup yet but I doubt there will be much change.

Apparently the Xcel may not be as full as it normally was in the past, pre-covid. KFAN seems to think it will not even be close to a sellout. They said that yesterday more than once on the radio.

we’re on the same wavelength… Russo said same exact lineup as the opening road trip… I will be curious to see how many sellouts we have (home opener should be close), sellouts across the league are pretty rare sofar in most markets…

Im not turning on a player. In fact I have been one of the biggest supporters of Parise and Suter, but there time has come. The game is passing them by and I am glad they were signed here in 2012 because that was instant life into this organization, but the time came to move on. Staal, Koivu, Parise and Suter. The core of this team for many years have now handed the reigns over the Foligno, Spurgeon, Dumba etc.
Im excited for tonight. Sounds like Blake Wheeler wont be making it due to COvid protocol. I have a feeling there are going to be a ton of false positives all year. I have no idea if its true, but apparently one of the tests (not sure which one) can give a false positive if you just drank orange juice. Seems far fetched but if that is possible we are in for a lot of this all year. Mckinnon was positive, but has now had 2 negative tests and will be making the road trip with the Avs.

They were talking yesterday that its likely hesitancy due to Covid and these games are all indoors. I believe that was on the latest Russo podcast with Ek I listened to yesterday.
Apparently Leipold bought or was set to buy some $250k device mandated by the NHL for playoffs last year had they won the first round. I wonder what that is obviously its filtration related. Wonder if its like a UV system.

This exactly. If following them on their new teams and posting their stats is “getting out the pitchforks”, then maybe someone is just looking to start a little drama. Maybe the guy posting Disney Frozen memes needs to take his own advice?
I’m excited to finally see the Jets again! A matchup that should be more of a rivalry than it is. Jets fans usually travel well, but I’m not sure if they’re even allowed to cross the border yet.

I’ve always loved this rivalry. There are always so many Jets fans and they are all very passionate and respectful in my experience. They obviously know the game unlike many Avs and Hawks fans.

I agree.

They are not permitted yet until Nov 8.
Have any of you figured out how to quote without proving your a bot and picking pictures of airplanes. It is really annoying. I see now Joe you basically said the same thing I did a few minutes before that’s because I had to rewrite the whole damn thing because the quote function wasn’t working.
You guys seem to not have trouble with it. It’s really annoying.

I was wondering about that. We can get into Canada but they cannot come here. Makes no sense. Bummer! It would have been fun to have some Jets fans from across the border. There will be some from here I am sure.
