This was our chance and we crapped the bed. Thankfully my DirecTV feed sucks due to weather or I’d gouge my eyes out.

I’d like to see Deano call timeout and tear these guys a new a$$hole on the bench, instead he shakes his head, looks to the sky and blows his lips…

i don’t know how this works in a big money business like the NHL but if my boss pulls immature crap like that after we give it all we got, i work half effort and plan multiple vacation days.

you see anybody giving it all they got?????
Go look about 15 posts earlier when it was 1-0 and i said this game could get out of hand quickly… The game was snowballing, they obviously needed a kick in the a$$, but here we are now 4-0….

Only thing that would help ease the pain of this game is if somebody catches Schenn full steam with his head down…

31 teams are losers at the end of the season, this team exceeded all regular season expectations and got paired against an equally hot team that just played better than we did…

Lots to look forward to in the Wild’s future….No more doubt, we have a legit top 5 player in the league, we have at the very least 3 picks in the top 65 of the draft, we’ll likely get more significant assets for whomever we trade (Fiala/Dumba/Kulikov/Talbot), Rossi should be in the mix next year, we’re about to sign the best goalie prospect in the world to his ELC…

Yes we have cap headwinds and likely need to replace 100+ points from players we’ll trade away, but we have a great foundation to build from…

Maybe they had a team fishing outing planned?? Good year with the normal end of the year that we’ve become accustomed to.

They are who we thought they were. A Minnesota team that gives their fans a little hope and then crap out in the first round. I had hoped that this was the team that would end that cycle. There are 32 NHL teams and 16 make the playoffs. Making the playoffs is nothing to get excited about.

What you say is true but I don’t lean as heavily on picks and prospects as you do Joe. You realize not every one of them is going to pan out to be legit NHL’ers right? As a matter of fact more usually do not than do. And they can take a number of years to develop not to mention they always do not reach their expected ceiling if they do. It’s a complete unknown. I’m not entirely sold on Rossi yet it will be interesting to see how he pans out next year. Not trying to be a Debbie downer but it is a fact of the matter.

Kaprizov was visibly pissed last night. He didn’t put his head down on the dasher or have a look of disappointment or shock or sadness on his face. He was pissed. This kid wants to win beyond all else. He has high expectations of himself and of those around him. I have a hunch he’s not going to enjoy playing with a team laden with young prospects the next three or four years.

Fiala is gone and he was not alone in a poor playoff performance but he will get the blame it’s the low hanging fruit. He still contributed 80 plus points to the regular season. Going to be hard to replace that. The Wild played such a low energy game last night that I think at times the Blues were playing down to them. The game just looked so slow and low energy at times. How is it possible they could play like that in a game of that magnitude? They must have some bad juju playoff curse put on them.

I only focus on the draft picks because it’s the ONLY way we can improve this team the next 3 seasons, there will be no free agents and no significant trade returns for the next 3 years. This draft will be very important as we’ll focus almost entirely on offensive players (after last years heavy D focus) and we’ll have the assets to move up and get the better talent.

Hey at least we all can fish tonight without wondering if we should leave the lake to watch Game 7! I had a bad feeling about game 6 but never thought it’d be that embarrassing.

I honestly could see BG being so pissed off he blows up part of this team. Keep 97, 25, 5 and the GREEF line and build from there. neutral

Yeah I was limiting my time up at the lake because I have no internet or tv other than what I get off the outside antenna which is fine with me. Luckily the weather has been so crappy limiting my time up there has not been hard to do. But don’t have to worry about having to be home to watch the Wild any longer. The Finals are on ABC so I get that off the antenna and be able to watch the Av’s and Florida! yay

As I said earlier Talbot was put in a tough spot. Put him in after sitting cold for two weeks in a win or go home game just doesn’t seem to be the right call but no use in second guessing it no way of knowing if Fluery would have fared any better. Probably not with the way the team played in front of him.

Special teams was the difference in this series. That can be fixed to some degree. Cam was Cam last night.
    Kulikov was terrible replacing goose.
KK was a beast this series and let’s hope he is pissed off that can only help this team get better. Going to be a wild not weird off season.

Team still needs to get better down the middle. I think they will try to do that.

Time for a new thread. Good night Wild2022 Thread. It was a good run.

The IDO internet hockey geniuses have been informative and entertaining. I appreciated all the insight, especially what’s in the pipeline.

I saw a video this morning of the leafs fans with one embedded Lightning fan with a jersey on. He quickly removed his jersey when things went south for the Leafs fearing the inevitable LOL

Im still going to watch a ton of playoff hockey, but counting down the hours to Wallstedt signing and then moves that will be made up to the draft
This roster is going to have even more turnover.
I hope they can get Middleton back. Kulikov, Dumba, Fiala can all be gone for all I care.

Anyone not named Kaprizov, Brodin, Ek, and maybe like Boldy/Jost should feel friggin embarrassed after that series. Absolute EGG laid by nearly everyone else.

If it’s all about winning in the playoffs, then it’s not going to hurt to unload Fiala AND Dumba.

Sure, Fiala might figure it out as he gets older and has more cracks at it, but you can’t pay a dude 6,7,8 million a year(or whatever he asks for) if said player goes from a 1 PPG player to a .5 PPG player. Or even worse, a .4 goals per game player to a ZERO goals per game player. Elite scorers don’t go a full 6 games in the playoffs without scoring. And to be honest, it’s not like he was ringing it off the post or being robbed, he wasn’t particularly close to scoring…

Dumba was likely playing injured, but man, what a complete liability back there. I get that you accept a bit of that if you have an elite offensive defensemen, but elite offensive defensemen he is not. It will be interesting to see what type of contract he gets next year. He is NOT worth 6 million a year, not for how he played this year.

I don’t necessarily agree. They had 113 pts this year. A large chunk of that core are signed. Should be able to get better at special teams. I mean can’t really get worse.

I don’t necessarily look at Fiala point total as a 1 vs 1 issue. I look at the line as a whole. I think they can replicate that point total or close too for 5 on 5 goals with some moving parts and Boldy playing a full season. We shall see what those parts consist of but I doubt they involve either Freddy hockey or Fiala.
