I said it about a month ago, the Wild have noticably got better… just sucks that we’re going up against the best faceoff guy all series…

Sounds like Talbot in tonight, Kulikov in for Goligoski, no other changes being reported…
Maybe this is a HUGE master plan by GMBG so Talbit wins the next 5 games and the Wild keeps it’s 1st round pick haha j/k

I was thinking the same thing! lol
May 12, 2022 at 1:14 pm #2123944Russo is reporting Talbot will be in net tonight. Thought they would stick with Flower at this point.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 1:22 pm #2123947Wallstedt and his team are playing in Game 7 of the championship today/tonight. Will be interesting to see if he signs and how soon. He isnt playing apparently.

My guess is he signs this weekend, perhaps a few days later if they win and he has parade and other team obligations…He hasn’t played a single playoff game, they have legendary Lulea goalie Joel Lassinantti they’ve given the net to…
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 1:40 pm #2123955Joel Lassinantti
yeah, him next to Wallstedt is comical, he’s been with the club since 2008 so they gave him the crease knowing Wallstedt was headed to Iowa after this season…

Excited, but dont want to talk too much about offseason stuff I want this season to keep going!
Ice CapPosts: 2163May 12, 2022 at 1:46 pm #2123961Talbot should be fired up tonight but as I said earlier he himself said his game suffers from not playing for a extended period of time. Russo was saying on KFan the other day that he didn’t think Talbot was handling Fluery getting the net the entire time very well. Don’t know how he knows he just said something about reading Talbots body language. He’s probably around these guys enough to pick up on that stuff.
Personally I’m less than certain it’s the right call. Calling on Talbot to save you’re season at this point is a tall order. Should be interesting.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 1:49 pm #2123962Yep, can’t say Im surprised at the change, but also can’t say Im excited for it. This will either work or end horribly. We will know in about 10 hours.

Exactly! Maybe Dean thinks this will send a message to the team or something?
Justin riegelPosts: 942May 12, 2022 at 1:59 pm #2123972I still contend Talbot should have been given a chance in game 2. Fleury is not the reason we are losing the series, but he hasn’t done anything impressive either.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 2:16 pm #2123983Not Wild related, but the UofM just announced that following next season the sheet at Mariucci will be reduced from 100 feet wide to either 90 or 92.5. They are lowering the ice surface 16″ and replacing all the cooling system.
tswobodaPosts: 8552CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 2:42 pm #2123991wth why don’t they just go to 85′ ??
Not sure. The size they are going to is similar to many of the rinks they already play in like the Kohl Center.

I completely agree.
Look at what the Blues did. They went to Binnington, it provided a spark, and they’ve won 2 straight. There is an article in the Star Tribune today about this very subject. Its a tall task for Talbot on the road in an elimination game, but its desperate now.

They lost 3-0, expect a Wild signing announcement soon

It may work. Losing tonight won’t be the fault of Talbot because they needed to finish last game when they had the lead and not make so many dang mistakes. If it works tonight, great, on to Game 7.

And they did it after the Wild won two straight. You play Talbot right away in game 2 and they lose then what?

Tough he is a professional.

Wow I didn’t think of that. Good point.

I don’t know. The point is that you don’t know until you try. And until tonight, they’ve been reluctant to even try. Better than just sitting there with the status quo right now.
May 12, 2022 at 8:07 pm #2124071I think Cam is going to give up an early softy and then play well. He has done that a lot this season. Hopefully someone other than KK can score tonight. I don’t like the Kulikov for Goligoski move…..
May 12, 2022 at 8:21 pm #2124073KK on a great clips commercial. Almost as bad as suter on the KwikTrip commercials lol. Yikes
CaptainMuskyPosts: 22854May 12, 2022 at 8:33 pm #2124078Ben Clymer just called the UND Fighting Hawks the Eagles……
that was on purpose no doubt LOL
May 12, 2022 at 9:14 pm #2124092Merril needs to get that shot off faster, he lets all of the blockers get in place…
