Watched the flower pretty closely last night to start the game. He certainly had his swag going and was tracking the puck extremely well.

I think the wild has to take advantage of the lineup the blues might have in game 3 and go after those D if they are still out. Big loss for them if they are out.

I saw a funny tweet last night saying the Wild would have won 6-0 if they would have started Cam. Made me think of all the posts about it. I’ll admit it that I was one of them and the crow sure does taste good after a win haha

The D also did a much better job of controlling the cross ice passes and clearing rebounds. Definitely was a point of emphasis.

There really is no wrong decision with who plays, but there certainly was no reason to lay the loss in game 1 on MAF. Youre not going to win without scoring and really only one of the goals he allowed was on him. I have to wonder if Cam is nicked up or if they are just going with MAF because of his more athletic style which is a benefit against the Blues.

Ryan Carter pointed out the PK adjustment they made was dropping the forwards down lower and force the Blues to take point shots (which they don’t want to do) which Fleury should more easily see and track..seems to have worked as I only saw a few cross-ice passes get through, thankfully those were offline and couldn’t be 1 timed…

Doubt Cam is nicked up. I said it last night if they go to Cam right away in game 2 and lose then what? They now still have that card to play if need be. I know having two good healthy goalies right is a lot better than some teams are dealing with.

Wilds stick checks were much better in game 2 than game 1.

I did get a good chuckle out of the Husso chant when they scored in the empty net.

Carter is so good. I hope he ends up in the booth for next game. I used to like Walz, but hes wearing on me.

Carter is the best by far but it’s funny because Walz is actually growing on me. Couldn’t stand him when he started but I don’t mind him every once in awhile now. I switched to the ESPN feed for a bit last night and it was so boring. The play by play guy was pretty good but Weekesie was on color and sounded borderline monotone.

Carter is the best they have for color commentary. I still laugh at the time he was on the Spittin Chiclets podcast. That was one of the better ones.

Yeah that was great! He’s a beaut. He was on the Power Trip a few years ago and if you’ve ever listened to them you know how their conversations can go South. Tommy Olson was on and the conversation somehow became about “cranks” and Tommy said some dude had a rather impressive one LOL. Carter goes, “did you ever ask him to fire that thing up?” LMAO

Ha, I love the one hat that only went like 10 rows down near the end. I wonder if it eventually made it?

Hahaha I remember that one! Carter just seems like a great guy to go have 4 or 5 or 6 beers with.

Man that was a fun game to watch last night! I can’t imagine what it was like at Xcel, that place must have been just crazy.

I was perusing some other boards last night and man, Blues fans are an interesting bunch! According to them,

    – The Wild were ‘given’ the game last night by the refs.
    – They feel BETTER about the Blues chances after last nights game.
    – The Wild are the dirtiest team in the league.
    – The Blues have significantly out played the Wild thus far.

It’s a different mindset for sure, MN sports fans are just like doom and gloom as soon as something doesn’t go our way. Meanwhile, the Blues just lost 6-2 and that’s added to their confidence that they will win in 5.

Hope the Wild pull through! Great to see Kap get on the scoresheet, I didn’t think he looked great in game one. I agree someone needs to knock Schenn down a peg or two as well.

I was at Game 1 and it was a total letdown. Obviously, the crowd didn’t get into it and by the time the Wild went on PP #5 there were people booing the Wild. I think that’s a d!ck move to boo your own team at any time, but just shows the total frustration.

It was obvious that in G1 the Wild was trying to be some other team.

Also, the Wild and the other teams that played on Monday got totally screwed by the league again. Obviously, the league got on ALL the playoff officiating crews and told them “Call absolutely everything or be fired.” So the usual swallow-the-whistle BS playoff officiating that teams expected was replaced with–gasp–something resembling the officiating in the regular season. WTF??? Sutter in Calgary even commented on it in his presser saying he had to get word to his players that holy crap the officials in the Monday games were calling everything so clean it up.

IMO the big difference between past years and this year is as much the coaching. We have the best coaching we’ve ever had as far as a coach/player fit.

Totally obvious that Deano & Co made numerous adjustments AND the players listened and did what Deano said. No more taking BS penalties in scrums was the first order and that was clearly followed on Wed.

Clearly, the coaches retooled the PK as has been mentioned. Night and day difference, Blues love to whip the puck around the perimeter and the Wild were playing right into their hands by spreading out too far above the dots and opening up the cross ice pass and the back door rebounds. Totally different story last night, keep the box below the tops of the circles and cut off the ticky-tacky passes and rebound garbage goals. Awesome response.

On the PP, netfront chaos, chaos, and more chaos. The Wild have both skill and size, unlike in past years and especially with crosschecking being called, the Blues can’t stop us in front of the net, put enough shots on there and goals are going to happen.

I’m really curious as to why they didn’t go to Cam in G2. I’m not saying MAF was bad, but his play didn’t seem stand out as a reason not to go with the other guy who’s what 13 and 0 in his past 13 starts? Strongly suspect that Cam might have tweaked something or he was battling some nagging pull or strain. Fluery really came through, but still a mystery to me as to wny not go to Cam.

Now we need to get into St. Louis and win one. IMO that will really get in thier heads, come back in G2 and whip thier @sses and then take game 3 and really put them on their heels.

Totally agree, the Wild coaching will hopefully find more ways to exploit the STL defensive injury situation and their lack of depth. Wish we had Dumba healthy to blast a few chunks out of more Blues with the slapper from the point, but keep doing what we’re doing.

THe Wild had a decided edge at D if both teams were healthy, now that gap has widened. I doubt Bortuzzo is going to be back soon after taking that shot off his face.

LOL boy it seems like Schenn is the top target right now. Isn’t he the trigger man on their power play too? I think he stands right in the slot.

You should hear what the blues fans want to do to poor little Spurgeon.
Apparently Boldy has one coming to him too.

Have you not seen him destroying guys every chance he gets? Diving and drawing penalties too. He’s their Hartman, love him when he’s on your team but everyone else hates him

I haven’t seen the 2nd or 3rd periods of either game. Just the first. But yes I definitely did see that collision with Fiala.

    LOL He concussed Leddy

That was one of those lose-lose hits for the refs. Totally borderline and penalty or no penalty one of the teams will be p!ssed

As dirty as it gets according to Blues fans who apparently think the wild are the most classless organization.

Plenty of Wild fans who’d say the same if the roles were reversed. It’s always the crazy delusional fans that get attention from opposing team fan bases.

All the Blues great hockey minds are busy hashing it out on whatever the Missouri version of IDO is jester

I think the Blues fans have been looking past Minnesota ever since it was clear that the Blues would play the Wild in the first round. After all they swept the regular season meetings…

Game one pretty much confirmed their ideas of a quick sweep but game two left them with this not so great feeling. At the start of last night’s game they were looking forward to being halfway to he series sweep and then polish the Wild off at home. Easy peasy.

I read some of thier forums today and I think this is 100% true, now they are sweating bullets having a depleted d line and calling up an AHL guy.

I’ve been pretty blown away with the physicality Boldy has brought to the series. Didn’t see that from him in the regular season but he has laid a few guys out in the first two games.
