I think the kid just flat out hit a wall after no hockey for like a year+

I agree I think the season really took a toll on him. He will have months to work out and rest up to be ready for a full season next year. Im impressed with how good he was considering how much time he missed. I mean isnt he only 19?

This made me think of the time Parise was trying to get somebody an empty net goal and made a mistake that resulted in the other team scoring? didn’t he get benched/healthy scratched afterwards? (I think i’m remembering it right?)

Yes that was against Vegas last year. It was horrible. He took a ridiculously long shift which led to a goal.

his comments stood out to me as probably the most obvious acknowledgment of them being the Lockeroom cancer he wanted out…we all suspected it, but obviously he’s not going to come out and name names…

Rossi’s been 20 all year, I think he’s like 4 days away from being a 2019 draft eligible. Only a few months younger than the 2019s like Boldy, Beckman, and Firstov.

I’m still waiting for the day we see an exposeh article on the team culture from the Suter/Parise years compared to now. There’s been obvious hints about it forever but no real stories to come out.

u18s are going on right now and USA is absolutely mopping up. Beat Canada 8-3 in group play and total score through 4 games is 37-10. Gopher commit and projected top 5 pick Logan Cooley pulled the Michigan today. He also sliced the refs wrist open with his skate. I haven’t seen a video but sounded like the blood was comparable to Malarchuk.

I can’t see Russo burning them that badly. He could write an incredible story about it I’m sure but I get the feeling he’s got a relationship with them that he doesn’t want to tarnish even for that story.

Or there’s been no expose’ because the real story doesn’t come close to what the TMSFs built it up to in their heads. Sign the big contract in MN and don’t deliver and you’re a slacker and/or a locker room cancer.

Obviously, the locker room culture is going to be different when you replace Suter, Parise, Koivu, and Staal. Time to let it go.

I’m sure there’s some truth to that but when then current players, captains, coach, and GM are constantly bringing it up… I’m pretty sure it’s not nothing. Probably more about what they weren’t than what they were.

Foligno circa 2019 (2nd season with Wild)… he came from Buffalo and still thought there was an issue with the Wild leadership.

“It’s got to come from leadership and guys playing the right way and holding guys accountable,” he said. “Right now, we’re just letting things slip away. I wish I had the answers, but at the same time, I think it’s just got to come from leadership. At this point of the season, at this type of playoff push, your leaders have to be your best, myself included, and right now we’re just struggling with it.”

Where there’s smoke there’s usually fire, right. And there was smoke around that locker room since about 2015.

    Yes.

And he could have said it about several “making it harder than it needed to be” come from behind wins this season as well.

Doubt Souhan cares about hockey enough to spend the time on that article.

Souhan’s written articles in the past just to rip Parise. I think that’s his only hockey articles lol

Anyone else lose Lapanta and Carter for a couple minutes? I kinda liked it

Hell of a pace by both sides in this game so far. Sure don’t seem like either team is packing it in and waiting for next week.

Well, for starters, the three turnovers in the first two periods and a penalty because he is skating in mud…….

+/- doesn’t tell the whole story.

Hate playing for OT, but really need at least one point out of this game. Keeps the pressure on STL and let’s Wild control their own destiny

    Markstom is really good
