So the Lehner injury saga is finally over (for the season), wonder how it affects his future there. Same kind of stuff that ended Eichel’s time in Buffalo and Buff’s career in Winnipeg.

Can the NHL award the Masterton to a full team? It should really go to every player who’s had to play for Bill Foley and PDB in the last 2 years.

Torey Krug’s been in 2 Stanley cup finals and probably played 100 NHL playoff games. I don’t think it’s a big mystery how he is going to handle playoff hockey.

Man I wish players were still allowed to play when their helmet pops off.

while I appreciate the “Torey Krug, This is Your Life” career recap ) my question was if the Wild would specifically target him like Vegas did with Suter & Spurgeon last year? they NEVER passed up finishing checks on them and by the end of the series both players were worn down…

I mean Addison is the same size, is offensive AND can double as Ron Jeremy…..I say do it.

Nah he won’t last either. Trade him for Chara. You see him pushing the whole team around the other night.

Ha I was just sharing my pre-scout notes I sent to Deano so he could put together a playoff game-plan… I think he’s calling it “let’s hit the short guy”

He tweaked an upper body injury during a hit, he’ll be back before the season ends, they were just giving guys knicked up some extended rest… The only injury to worry about is Spurgeon’s, we don’t have any details about it yet…

He’s been out for a long time for a tweak. That’s the big mystery to me. What was it? I almost wonder if it was a concussion or something.

Evason is always fun to listen to. He’s great. That post game he did when Dan Myers was in his Mankato St purple suit and Dean interrupted a question just to talk about his suit still kills me every time I watch it. He and Chris Finch from the Wolves are really good interviews. Breath of fresh air compared to Zimmer and Baldelli.

    Dumba Zuccy Spurgeon still out.

Not sure where I heard it but apparently Dumba literally can’t shoot a puck right now due to whatever his shoulder injury is.
Spurgeon is “better than we originally thought” “should be ready for game 1” according to the team.
    Zuccy no idea.

I had a mild separated shoulder one time during a season and obviously the shooting motion is the hardest on the injury, you kind of just work through the pain until it fully heals, what sucks is that it’s easy to re-injure and have setbacks until then…

My guess is those 3 rest until game 1 as a precaution, maybe Zuccy suits up in the last game just to get some stickwork/passing rust off…

Really good. Billy G dropped a little nugget that Kaprizov was staying at Kovalchuk’s place for the couple weeks he was hiding out his summer.

I don’t want to sound like a total homer, but it’s so refreshing to listen to a GM who doesn’t give the cliche answers…

After listening to GMBG on the podcast, I completely take back the whole rest players idea, he WANTS home ice and will play anybody who’s healthy!

Ultimately, it is not his call whether to play or sit someone. Assuming a player is healthy based on the advice of the medical staff, its up to Dean to decide whether they will play or not. Guerin surely may have some say in it though.

if GMBG says Zuccy will sit out tonight, Zuccy will sit out tonight…GM makes the call on who gets on the bench, Coach makes the call on who gets on the ice…in a healthy relationship, both SHOULD get the others opinion, but they each own their spots…

Yes it is. Guerin is the guy that hired Dean and is the guy who can fire him. He’s a lot more hands on than most realize. Boudreau flat out said that he wasn’t making the lineup decisions his last season.

So you’re saying that a General Manager up in a press box is sitting there making decisions on what player goes on the ice during the game? I don’t think so.

He may be playing a role behind the scenes prior to the game. None of us have insight to that information as it unfolds.

Just because he dictated game time player decisions with Boudreau, doesn’t mean that he and Dean have that exact same working relationship. It could be a complete 180.

The subject of which goalie will be starting is a hot topic lately. I firmly believe that Dean is making that decision on his own, not Guerin.
