I can almost guarantee Calgary will not be sitting guys. Sutter has already come out and said it.

Wild hold the tie breaker so Blues would have to be ahead to take home ice.

Agree with you though health is most important.

are you sure we own the tiebreaker? I thought we didn’t???

Should be able to just throw Chaffee back in and be good to go right? Not sure if he was sent back to Iowa though. Or they could dress 7 D and put Benn at wing like they did with Addy haha. Pretty obvious the priority is health and rest over home ice which is great to see.

Wild definitely don’t own a tie-breaker over anyone. They’re close to the bottom of playoff teams in relation wins. First time in forever that OT/SO actually helped them.

My bad it’s ROW which according to NHL.com they are tied there too at 45.
It then goes to head to head so my bad I misspoke and was thinking just wins.

Chaffe was sent down Camarossa was recalled and yes dressing 7D is an option according to Russo.😀

GMBG really wants the younger Wild guys to experience the AHL playoffs, last night’s Iowa Wild loss was huge…

Blues have 3 more road games (Arizona & Anahiem this weekend back to back before heading to Colorado tuesday and then closing out the regular season at home vs Vegas) you gotta figure on them getting 5 or 6 more points.

Tomorrow’s Wild vs Preds game is big on so many levels (2 points, gain some confidence against Nashville, depleted Wild lineup, staying healthy against a physically punishing team)

Just don’t get hurt. 4 regulars out already. Maybe it’s just me but that last couple weeks of the season seem to be dragging on. I am ready for the playoffs.

Jesper Wallstedt hasn’t played a single second in goal for Lulea in the SEL playoffs… I’m guessing this is due to them knowing he’s leaving for the Wild when the season is over?

I feel the same way. It’s probably because of all the games they had to make up from Jan/Feb. Can you imagine if they had taken a 3 week break for the olympics? They’d be playing the Stanley Cup Finals in August.

That’s exactly what I thought. A three week break is just crazy. As it is I’m going to miss a lot of time up at the lake because I’m going to stay home to watch the games. No cable or internet up there.

Of course St Louis blows a lead but wins it in OT to get the 2 points last night…

Can’t argue too much, just think of how many times Blues fans said that about the Wild this season…

X2! not to mention that come from behind stuff is going to be a lot harder to pull off in the playoffs.

Thinking about the grief of likely losing Fiala this offseason, just look at the Calgary Flames offseason to do list!

    1) Resign Johnny Gaudreau
    2) Resign Mathew Tkachuk
    3) Resign Andrew Mangiapang
    4) Resign Oliver Kylington

All of them are having career seasons

Billy has been known to surprise. I predict he finds a way to keep Fiala.

I think the guy has matured greatly this season. In fact, ever since that game where he was benched for the majority of the 3rd and was seen talking to Deano on the bench, he has been a different player. That was his turning point imo.

If he can keep this heat rolling into the blues, BG just might find a way.

Maybe if they only play with 15 guys a night they can afford him.

Would love to see it just don’t see it.

Its all going to come down to if Fiala:

    1) wants to be here long term (maybe his model wife might want to live in a larger/warmer market?)
    2) his ego is willing to be the Robin to Kirill’s Batman
    3) is willing to take significantly less $ than his market value to stay here and the NHLPA is ok with that…

If he says NO to any of these its an easy decision for GMBG to trade him, if he says Yes to all three, then GMBG has his work cut out to find a way to afford it for next season and somehow needs to allow the Wild to have enough capspace to resign Boldy after next season (when there’s even tighter cap issues)

Kevin wants to get paid and wants it on a long term deal. He wanted that last summer and now he’s coming off career highs in every category and only a year from UFA. I’m sure from his point of view it’s either move the pieces to pay him or trade him to someone who can.

The team also has next to no leverage. They can play hardball again and be left open to offer sheets, would be a low value return. Or Fiala could elect arbitration and take a 1 year deal forcing the team to move other players and walk him straight to UFA. They either need to trade him around the draft or trade other significant contracts at the draft so they can afford to extend him.

Russo reported Fiala had no interest in the 3 x $6m+ contract offered to him last summer, which would have been fair at the time. After this career season he’ll only be looking to cash in long term even more. I’m sure he’s looking at KK getting 5x$9 with no leverage after 50 points in 55 games and saying why not me?

yeah, I should have ended my post by saying I don’t expect Fiala to say yes to any of those points I made and he’ll be traded… then it’s all about GMBG getting the biggest return he can, likely in draft picks and top ELC prospects…

Sob thats a terrible goal to give up at the end of the period, how the F is Kaprizov the only Wild player defending the net against 3 Predators?

What a turn of events. The Wild score and draw a penalty. Nashville challenges, loses the challenge, and gets called for delay of game. 5 on 3 power play for Minnesota fails. Wild take a penalty, Nashville scores. Rinse and repeat. You can’t make this up

A full 2 minute 5-3 and they can’t score. They don’t deserve to win this game.

I’m getting flashbacks of Suter running the PP watching Goligoski on point tonight…..
