Russo is just wrapping up a Live Room on The Athletic. Its pretty dang good. He keeps saying over and over that he thinks the plan all along to trade Fiala. He isnt sure if that has changed with his stellar play, but speculating on trade demands he is thinking at least a 1st and multiple prospects.

Sounds like Dumba is questionable for game 1 of the playoffs.

Robin Lehner situation in Vegas is weird.

Vegas Golden Knights goalie Robin Lehner is undergoing season-ending surgery for a lower-body injury, sources told ESPN on Friday.

Lehner suffered the injury in a March 8 loss to the Flyers in Philadelphia. He left the team’s road trip to receive more testing after the initial injury and missed Vegas’ next several games.

Lehner returned on April 3 and posted a 2-2-1 record with a 3.21 goals-against average and .889 save percentage.

Golden Knights coach Pete DeBoer denied that Lehner is done for the season when asked about the report after practice on Friday.

Not to my knowledge,” he said. “It was a maintenance day today. I expect him at practice tomorrow. I expect him dressed on Sunday.”

On Wednesday, Lehner was pulled after the first period against the Washington Capitals after allowing one goal on 13 shots. The Golden Knights went on to beat Washington 4-3 in overtime but remain two points out of a playoff spot with four games remaining.

Lehner had also been dealing with a shoulder injury this season.

Logan Thompson will assume the starting goaltending position for Vegas.

I get the feeling that more Vegas players will choose themselves vs doing whatever they can (playing through injuries) for the organization as they react to how Vegas management treats their players.

Lehner is a bit of an odd duck though so who knows if this is just a one-off case?… but maybe its also a factor in why they have so many players “out” with injuries instead of trying to play through them?

What would Boldy replacing zuccarello look like? Man Boldy is good with the puck.

    That’s there system…

yeah they give them freedom to do that but there needs to be some situational awareness. Dumba has a major problem with this.

    That’s there system…

but it requires some situational awareness when the forwards who are going to cover for them are stuck deep in the zone… Benn’s decision was terrible… we had a few more that period that resulted in 2-1’s

Lol – I just read Musky’s reply after posting mine, great choice of words!

Man it will suck to lose Fiala, but it ensures we’ll keep Boldy… that’s what I keep telling myself to keep from going crazy

Maybe he’ll be open to signing a “Joe Smith” contract??? Nothing bad can happen from that right?!?

    Sure but it’s Ben…
I’m sure they are cheating a bit against the kraken, but let’s be honest they ain’t winning playing 1-0 2–1 hockey.

That’s a sign of a good team. Wild give up the first two goals. And instead of getting rattled, they score 5 unanswered!

Deano rolling the dice throwing the PP1 unit out there with 2 minutes to go in a 6-3 game…pretty senseless imo… we don’t need a goofy deflection to the face of our suprstars or worse and they miss the playoffs all to pad their already crazy stats for the game…

No Zuc, 2 minutes left in the game, Seattle just wanted to get off the ice and could have taken liberties and let out some frustration, it was a needless risk is all…

He’s out against Nashville. Lower body.
Not thought to be too serious, but none the less I also think it was a silly move to have your PP1 out there at that time.

Just listened to Russo on kfan this morning and he said Zucc’s injury is minor. If it would have been a playoff game he would’ve been able to play. Keeping him out against Nashville is purely precautionary.

A lot of these guys could use the rest. Foligno getting covid is actually probably a big help to him because he’s been playing hurt for awhile now.

Tomorrow’s game will be interesting, lots of guys out hurt and they really dont want to pull the better players out of Iowa as they are playing a critical series to get a playoff spot…

Getting through it healthy is more important than the result imo… the last 2 games will be easier as both teams want to just get through them healthy, Avs and Calgary will likely sit their stars too…

I can almost guarantee Calgary will not be sitting guys. Sutter has already come out and said it.

Wild hold the tie breaker so Blues would have to be ahead to take home ice.

Agree with you though health is most important.
