Didn’t hear Lou as I was listening to Hurricane broadcast but Bjugstad was fine. Dude has played like 1 game in over a month.
Besides he was 7 for 11 on the dot…

he was terrible… go watch the game again… Dewar would be a better option…
Sure but Dewar isn’t on the team soo…
He played 9 minutes I mean I know he was in for the goal but like I said dude has played in 1 game in like 5 weeks…I guess my expectations aren’t that high for a fourth line healthy scratch. Especially one that hasn’t played in weeks.

I guess my thinking was that Dewar replaced Bjugstad x months ago as a full timer in the lineup and played well, then we add Jost so Dewar is odd man out, then we get injuries and instead of putting Dewar back in they leave him down in Iowa and put in Bjugstad who as you said hasn’t played in x amount of months/games… result is he played bad and was the direct result of losing the shutout, not a big deal in the grand scheme of things (we obviously won the game) but Lou praised his game and especially his defensive play not more than 60 seconds after he blew his assignment resulting in the goal. Jost brings no size to the 4th line and Bjugstad plays like he’s 5’9″ 180 lbs, so Dewar’s size shouldn’t be an issue… we’ll see how he plays tonight, but I think he’s done and needs to be put out to pasture for the younger guys…
I’m sure Dewer would be the option in playoffs, just not sure how their scheduled work out knowing it’s two games back to back and then Boldy is most likely back.
Now you just hope Tom Wilson doesnt do something stupid for the rest of the game
and to think we had a goalie crisis 10 games ago..
Props to Gologoski who’s looked good since coming back, reduced minutes on the 3rd pair seems to be his fit now moving forward…
Remember when the sky was falling and the wild should sell sell sell.
Missed the whole game being on a plane but looks like the bottom three lines played well.
We scored 5 goals and BOTH Kaprizov and Fiala with 0 shots on goal all game…
After being invisible against the Canes, I thought the Fiala-Freddy-Jost line looked really good tonight. Jost especially was a lot more noticeable in the elevated role. They had some great looks off the rush.
Hartman is such a rat. I love it.
I see Bjugstad was 11 of 13 on the dot. Joe he should be your hero…

Put him on the PP! We’d have an extra 35-45 seconds of zonetime!
Next two games are at Nashville and at St Louis this week. A first round preview is on tap. Minnesota’s current record against these two teams is 0-3.
Very impressive showing last night. The Caps are terrible at defending, but any time #8 is out there its like they could score at any minute.
What does everyone think of the Beagle/Terry/Zegras deal?
Mistakes made by every person involved, but my takeaway is that’s exactly why I hate the after the whistle scrums. The color commentary just distracts from the real issue. That didn’t happen because the Ducks players were “skilling it up” or “hot-dogging”. It happened because after the whistle garbage is allowed to happen in the NHL and it escalated with a frustrated player taking advantage of soft player.

I think Beagle is a little b*tch. Dont like Zegras’ showmanship, stop him from doing it.
I don’t think there’s a team in the league that it saying, “Oh good, we get to play the Wild tonight.” Yes, yes, the Caps aren’t the same Caps that they were 3-4 years ago, but come on you don’t just get lucky and put up 5 goals a team like the Caps.
That GREEF line was just fantastic. Greenway is a different player this season. Did you guys see him on that second EE goal where he lost his stick and then drove the Big Rig right over the top of Backstrom on his way to picking up his twig. Then he gets the pass, puts the shot on goal, and EK finishes. Greeway is coming to the rink angry this season. Not to mention the fact that it was hard for the Caps to generate any offense against a line that they spent the whole night playing defense against.
Fiala didn’t score, but he and Jost just gave the Caps constant problems. You could see the Caps had been warned do not let this guy get loose on you, they were playing very conservative with Fiala on the ice.
I wonder about Jost. Did the Avs just rush him too much? I hope the Wild can tap a whole lot of upside with him, you just have to think a #10 OA pick has to have more there than he showed in Col.
Also makes life a lot easier when both goalies are hot. To beat the Wild right now, you have to plan on scroing 3 or more and that’s going to be a tough task with the way Cam and Fluery and playing.

I think the thing with him in CO is he was forced to play down the lineup. That doesnt align real well with his skillset. He would thrive if given the chance up the lineup and last night he showed it. That line was noticeable.
Is there a possibility of seeing Boldy, Fiala, and Jost together?
That would require Deano breaking with Gaudreau, I’d love to see if, just don’t think it’s going to happen…

I’m now thinking Jost is GMBG’s 1 year backup plan if they can’t resign Fiala this offseason, it’s cost effective and buys GMBG another year to find a better solution.
Boldy – Rossi – Jost
Is there a possibility of seeing Boldy, Fiala, and Jost together?
I think no, mostly because like Joe mentioned Deano won’t move Freddy Hockey down. But I also think Freddy has earned his spot there. In the last 30 games (basically since establishing that line) Freddy is #2 on the team with 17 points at 5 on 5. We all hated on Freddy’s offense early, but since Boldy came up that line has been really good and Freddy is actually outproducing Boldy all while his role is to be defensively responsible and cover for Fiala and Boldy. Is there a chance Jost could make them even better? Yeah, but with only 14 games left I don’t see them messing with the chemistry unless there’s injuries or that line stops producing. They’ve been too good to mess with so far though. Where I think Jost should get a shot to replace Freddy is the 2nd powerplay since Freddy’s done nothing on the PP all season. BUT he’s been good on PP draws so you gotta keep him there right
Anyone notice how much the lines have remained constant this season? What a huge change from the Boudreau years when 1 shutout or bad game meant the lines go into the blender. Part of it is they’ve been remarkably healthy, but Deano has mostly stuck with the lines that work even through droughts and losing streaks.
6 guys with 20 goals help keep the lines as they are. They are generally all producing above their career levels.
Not sure what Boldy’s injury is, dont recall seeing it when it happened. Doesnt sound like he’ll be out too long since he made the road trip though.
D*pth.
Its crazy the run the Wild have been on and they havent made up any ground on Colorado. Makes you appreciate just how dang good they are.

That is where I would put him as well. That second PP unit is pretty brutal. Fiala could use a little more skill on it with him.

Always thought BB changed lines way too much. Hard to build chemistry.
I was going to say Freddie has been pretty good since Boldy came up. He does have some decent skills as well.
I also thought Jost was more of a play next year as a Fiala replacement on that line and as a possible injury back up on the top 9 this year.
Don’t know if you follow spokedZ on twitter but he gushes about Lambos walking the blue line all the time and shows some clips.
I just don’t see where Addison fits in now in the next couple years. With the guys they have signed and the guys that will be coming behind him.
Starting to really like the simplicity of middletons game. Dude is tough as nails as well back to back games with a clapper off his same hand. Going to be an interesting off season on the backend this summer.
And for the record Gim I don’t care what the wilds record is against the blues and preds this season right now. Honestly won’t care at the end of the season either as I don’t think it matters at all when the playoffs start.
