Stupid challenge off a stupid penalty.
They were moving in the first. Changed the game.
Just can’t do much right, right now.March 6, 2022 at 4:51 pm #2105480If they dont come back my guess is there will be a “players only” meeting after the game…
RipjiggenPosts: 12218March 6, 2022 at 4:54 pm #2105482I don’t think Ott is giving up five.
Should start with the PK group.CaptainMuskyPosts: 23970March 6, 2022 at 5:06 pm #2105485I don’t think Ott is giving up five.
Should start with the PK group. The PK has been absolutely horrible. A cpl goals were not on Kaahkonen but he did have stinkers too.
RipjiggenPosts: 12218March 6, 2022 at 5:10 pm #2105488What goals were not. The last three were definitely on him. Huge rebounds he didn’t coral on shots to the chest.
I guess the first one when Freddie hockey rammed Seguin into Kakko was tough.
Not sure which game is worst to watch right now Big or Little Wild.
RipjiggenPosts: 12218RipjiggenPosts: 12218RipjiggenPosts: 12218March 6, 2022 at 7:17 pm #2105516Is this the 2nd time this season we got the double-whammy (lose the challenge and then give up another goal on the subsequent power play?)
What other game did that happen?
RipjiggenPosts: 12218March 6, 2022 at 7:25 pm #2105518Don’t remember who they were playing but yea I remember it happened before.

I replied after that comment but it didn’t work. 3 of the 4 were in him. The 1 he had no chance. He wasn’t good.
RipjiggenPosts: 12218March 6, 2022 at 10:50 pm #2105536Interesting take by Russo…
One thing the Wild might want to consider is attempting to acquire the rights to injured Montreal Canadiens defenseman Shea Weber’s contract.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman mentioned on “Hockey Night in Canada” on Saturday that the Canadiens are willing to trade the contract.
Why would or should the Wild be interested?
We all know about their cap hell the next three years when the dead money for buying out Zach Parise and Ryan Suter becomes $12.7 million, then $14.7 million and $14.7 million, respectively.
If the Wild acquired Weber, presuming his latest injury is actually career-ending, the Wild would have to pay him only $6 million total the next four years plus the prorated remainder of this season. What they’d get in return for that is $7.857 million of annual cap hit that they could place on long-term injured reserve. It’s complicated and would take some annual maneuvering for Guerin and his team to make it work, but this would allow the Wild to spend significantly over their allotted cap ceiling and give them the room to do anything from re-signing Fiala to delving into free agency when they otherwise maybe wouldn’t be able to.

yes, playing the LTIR game has been mentioned before, Russo needs to explain better how it works in the Wild’s case…
Ice CapPosts: 2215March 7, 2022 at 8:01 am #2105551The Wild missed their chance to get back on track the last three games. Things are only going to get tougher going forward. No teams are push overs for them now. Lots of tough teams to play in March starting with the Rangers tomorrow. Red Wings, Blue Jackets, Nashville, Boston, Penguins all show up the rest of the month.
Confidence in that locker room has to be all but gone regardless of the guys saying all the right things. Love to be a fly on the wall when BG sits down with Leipold to decide what to do with the impending trade deadline looming.
One things for sure psychotic as they are they are a interesting team study. They keep you watching when they are good and now it’s a train wreck you can’t stop watching wondering how bad the pile up is going to be.CaptainMuskyPosts: 23970March 7, 2022 at 11:13 am #2105621Regarding the LTIR thing, TSWOBODA wrote up a couple posts about how its used to circumvent the cap, but essentially said doing something like this wouldnt really help the wild unless they had another player already on LTIR. Its on page 107. So this makes me intrigued by Russos comments and how they think it could help. Friedman is as plugged in as anyone and I trust the things he says, its just confusing.
Justin DonsonPosts: 361March 7, 2022 at 1:00 pm #2105667I’m sure the Wild will make some LTIR move and then the NHL will change the rules and the Wild will be punished as a result. I mean, nothing like that has ever happened before, but it just feels like MN sports luck for something to go wrong.

Yeah I am not understanding this move either.
March 7, 2022 at 2:21 pm #2105682I asked Russo to provide details on the LTIR theory for his next Worst Seats in the House podcast, hopefully he answers it.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23970March 7, 2022 at 4:11 pm #2105722If he doesn’t answer yours maybe he’ll answer the other 3 times it was asked LOL
Ice CapPosts: 2215March 7, 2022 at 9:07 pm #2105793Makar scores goals 19 and 20 plus an assist so far tonight. 63 points on the year with twenty plus games still to go. And a +37 I might add. That’s one stud D man.
CaptainMuskyPosts: 23970March 8, 2022 at 2:25 pm #2105969Sounds like the McBain signing isnt going to happen and Guerin has told teams he is available and told McBain’s agents to provide a list of teams. Kinda bummed about this. He is a huge guy. Thought he would have been a great Sturm replacement next year.
BG says he wants a 2nd Rounder, but how do you think he gets that when the NHL all knows he isnt signing with the Wild and BG is trying desperately to get something?March 8, 2022 at 2:37 pm #2105971Sounds like the McBain signing isnt going to happen and Guerin has told teams he is available and told McBain’s agents to provide a list of teams. I would love love that. He has been phenomenal the last couple years.
March 8, 2022 at 4:36 pm #2106006Rangers are trying to help us out. Shesterkin not starting tonight. Although it probably is a wash because we are starting Talbot.
March 8, 2022 at 7:21 pm #2106053Nice to see Greenway back. That line just plays better when they’re all together.
March 8, 2022 at 7:21 pm #2106054Best start we’ve had in awhile! Boom! Hartman scores as I’m typing! Glad the backup goalie is in for NY.
It’s crazy how much better this plays when the Ek line is intact.

Agreed if one of them is gone it’s not the same. Likely chemistry but they are so good together. I wonder if they’ve been scored on 5×5 yet? They hadn’t been all season at one point but haven’t seen the stat recently and there has been injuries.
