Packers were outplayed and out coached by the Vikes! bow

    That they were

I spent most of the second half getting decoys ready for the WI youth opener instead of watching the Packers get their ass kicked lol

It was a very cool game to be at. Probably won’t make another one unless tickets from work come up for grabs again, but that was awesome. We are not super bowl contenders or anything crazy, however it was refreshing to see the team play that way. Also a bit shocked my voice held up as well as it did. SKOL!!

LOL as a lifelong (insert favorite MN Sports team) fan I didnt have a good feeling about yesterday’s game. When the rookie WR dropped that ball early I think that changed the tone of the game and you could see Aaron was pissed.

gotta admit that Vikings defense is the real deal…adding Zadarius is going to pay big dividends for you.

the Packers WRs are going to make me suffer all season. oof.

The play were he just obliterated the RB was absolutely unreal. The guy is a load!

Having Hunter healthy and on the field is pretty much an addition to the team since he’s been hurt so much the past few years. Him and Smith applying pressure when they’re both healthy is going to be fun to watch.

What’s the deal with Cine? I know he popped up on the injury report toward the end of last week, anyone know his status or timeframe? Real excited to watch him play. If he can figure it out and have an impact soon it’ll be a blast watching him and Harry play together.

I think Cine was just a bit nicked up so he should be able to go this week.

The key play of the game was the rookie with first-game jitters dropping a sure TD after PP lost his footing. That was a huge lucky break for the Vikings. I wouldn’t call it an ass-kicking, even though A-Rog did get beat up the worst I can ever recall; I am surprised he wasn’t injured when Hicks crushed him. Way more vicious hit than when Barr landed on him a few years back. Kirk was on his back all day as well. The Vikes O-line play is concerning. Hopefully, they will improve with time.

    What’s the deal with Cine?

He’s got a lingering knee injury. Bynum has really developed into a solid contributor though, so Cine has time to get right and will need to earn his PT. Usually not too hard as the new regimes first pick though.

A great game, but we still have to play all 4 quarters. I spent most of the 3rd quarter saying, “And here’s the comeback.” They were finding ways to exploit our left side and did so on three straight plays. And then they proceeded to score. The Packers of last year would’ve went on a 3-0 TD run and won the game.

But I’m optimistic about our division chances and I think we’ll only improve throughout the season. Should be fun to watch if we can avoid big injuries.

Captain was sacked once. I believe it Gary on the rookie Ingram but that may not be accurate. I remember Kenny Clark blowing up Bradbury once but he does that to lots of folks.

I am more worried about CB and the lack of depth there. Booth didn’t finish the game. If tiny dancer or PP go down at all that would have me worried.

Seeing constant pre snap motion and empty sets were refreshing.

Crazy to see the media giving MN some love. Several big names had us at No 3 in the power rankings today on ESPN lots of 7s and 8s as well. Some went as far to say as MN was the best team in the NFC Which honestly could be true if you look at it.

I don’t know what game you were watching Ripjiggen, but Kirk was picking himself off the turf after getting leveled more than I am comfortable with. They keep track of a stat that covers this in-the-box score. It is called QB Hits, which includes sacks. Rodgers got hit 5 times Kirk got hit 8 times.

Bass Pundit I would agree that stats like QB pressures and hits are huge and on the same level as sacks. Often a guy can create huge pressure and another player gets a gift sack that was set up by the first guy. Same thing with offensive linemen, giving up a sack is obviously bad but we heed to look at overall pressures and hits given up as well. Those pressures lead to bad throws and QB’s getting dinged up and maybe a little gun shy for the rest of the game.

The mobility of an individual QB makes a big difference when it comes to “pressures” on them. Obviously a guy like Jackson, Allen, or Mahomes has the physical ability to avoid that and extend the play whether its with their feet or their arm. Rodgers was very good at that for a long time but his age may be catching up to him. His legs aren’t what they used to be. Cousins has never really been much of a mobile QB so the number of pressures on him make a difference.

All I said was he was only sacked once. He’s a pocket passer he will always take more QB hits than Erin.
Erin got destroyed outside of the pocket however. That hit where he fumbled was brutal.

I really enjoyed that one. It was like “let’s meet at the QB” and they collectively said “OK!”.

Joe Burrow was sacked more than any other QB in the league last season.

This is fantastic breakdown by coach. This guy was definitely the right hire. I cannot believe they even remotely considered Harbaugh.

Cpt. Musky that video was awesome, thanks for sharing, and share them all season if you find them. I love the cerebral part of play-calling and all the intricacies of how all 11 players perform their role for a successful play.

    A couple observations:

    1. For a high-powered, high-movement offensive guy, KOC is really knowledgeable and well-spoken about the defense, and I can’t imagine Zimmer going through offensive with that level of detail.

    2. That video really showed that the WR trio of JJ, KJ, and Thielen all play huge roles. JJ may show up with the big stats but Thielen and KJ running their routes the way they do are crucial to the setup. And there will be games for them where the other two show up in the stat sheet more because a team will bracket JJ or try and shut him down, and I’m guessing our coaching staff will then exploit that to get the other two more touches and open space.

    3. I don’t mean to overstate this, but Za’Darius Smith might be the defensive version of Justin Jefferson, in that the opponent will always want to know where he’s at on the field. If he keeps changing his looks and starting at different locations (and stays healthy) he’s gonna cause fits for offenses all year.

I love it too. Too many times we focus on the singular success of a particular play with one or two players getting the praise, when in reality it was like an symphony where the entire orchestra was key to its success.

I read that Thielen said he had never been part of an offense that didn’t stop attacking before. Love it.

Yeah, they didnt seem to back down, but didnt have as much success in second half which shows GB made some adjustments. They certainly didnt seem to just try and hold on to win.

What’s everyone thinking for Monday? I haven’t paid much attention to the Eagles, but they seem to be the opposite of GB offensively. Questionable QB and RB’s, but really good WR’s. Detroit ran all over them, and came back to make it a game it looks like, so hopefully Dalvin gets going.
