I guess the only thing that might surprise me is them actually blowing someone out for a change since they have a propensity of making every game a nailbiter.

    Every game.

Anybody else think the announcers really like the Giants?

Have to give it to them they are pretty clutch at finding a way to win.
Kurko chains now has 8 straight season with 25 TD’s. Fifth QB ever to do that.
    Peyton Brady Brees Rivers.

I think KOC finally seen enough of Donatell’s predictable sets and had him tweak the D. maybe he didn’t want to step on any toes since Ed is twice his age but eventually something gave in? i think these guys can play with anybody and they have shown it week after week. still prepared to be let down but hopefully its a close let down?

I think the Vikes should basically sit Cook for the next couple of games. He looks fresh right now. I want him 100% for the playoffs. Madison is quality back. In the Packers game I think they should use Cook as a play-action decoy for three quarters giving Madison 100% of the carries. Only giving Cook carries in the 4th if the game is on the line and the D is a bit fatigued.

I have wayyyy more faith in Madison than Cook on the run. Every defense in the country is geared and focused on Cook. Cook can catch the ball and run on those short plays and I think most teams are not looking for the pass when it come to Cook.

I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to get a side gig as Santa next year with all the grey hair the Vikes have added to my beard this year! Still not too optimistic on their playoff performance, but this has to be the most entertaining regular season for the Vikes of my lifetime. They need to keep playing everyone at least against GB, to knock them out and lock up the #2 seed. I’d give ZDarius and a select few other vets off against the Lions if they take care of business against the Pack. Cook is great, but Mattison isn’t much of a drop off imo.

There is a big difference between Cook and Madison. The big difference is Cook’s burst through the hole. He is also more patient runner. If you would see Mattison more than a series at a time you would notice the difference.

I believe the 49ers hold the tie breaker with the Vikings because they have a better conference record. So to ensure that Minnesota stays at the 2 seed, they might have to win both remaining games. Also, they play the Bears in week 18, not the Lions.

    Vikes are 3.5 point underdogs?

Ha. They were 3.5 point underdogs at home to Dallas last month and 3 point underdogs at Detroit earlier this month. They lost both, and failed to cover either one. So this spread does not surprise me.

I read an article 2 days ago, and yesterday on KFAN they were talking about that very article. Every single metric out there indicates that the Vikings are literally the worst 12-3 team in NFL history. They’ve been out gained on offense by over 600 yards compared to their opponents. They are only a +5 in point differential (by comparison, the best team in that stat this season is Buffalo, who is +157). In terms of yardage allowed, they are second worst in the entire NFL. Advanced metrics says they have 4-5 more wins than they should this season and based on this, they should be in the same realm as the Raiders or Broncos (who are 6-9 and 4-11, respectively).

What these metrics do not take into account are items that cannot be measured. A new coaching style rather than the “fear-based” Zimmer era the last couple seasons, plus a potential record breaking wide receiver.

There are a couple of stats that can be measured but analysts/betting lines do not take into play: 5th best turnover margin in the league, and 4th best in least penalties per game. Its impossible to predict these two stats, but they often dictate the outcome of the game because they are momentum-swinging turning points.

That being said, Green Bay probably has more to play for this Sunday. They cannot lose otherwise they will be eliminated from post season contention. Minnesota has already clinched the division and at least one home playoff game. I foresee the Packers winning this by one possession.

But when Dallas was favored to beat the Vikings you said it was a slap in the face. It wasn’t a slap in the face, it was a total butt whooping on the field. The bettors got it right based on the metrics.

That’s correct. I did think that was a slap in the face, at the time. Others did too. Probably why I’m not an oddsmaker lol

Is this game for real already? So far in the first 10 minutes there has been a blocked punt, a goal line stand, a 4th down sack, and a pick six.

Holy balls. When the Vikings decide to lay an egg, they go big. Remarkable actually.
