2022 Minnesota Vikings

Saw a crazy stat today: Over the last 5 weeks, 34% of MN’s runs have have gone for zero or negative yards. Woof.

Yeah the run game and the secondary coverage has been very off putting for quite a while this season. I mean the Lions have one of the worst Run Defenses yet they couldnt must up anything. That Cook fumble was obviously supposed to be a pass, but he was WAY to close to the line of scrimmage to make that throw, but the guy was wide open so it would have worked just terrible execution by him.

This was a game everyone, including Vegas and Vikes fans used to these sorts of L’s, saw coming. A few questionable calls by KOC, but the defense did nothing all day. This Donatell D is based off of getting pressure with 4 up front, and that hasn’t happened consistently in a couple, 4-5 weeks. Not sure if Z’Darius is hurt or tired, but he looks like he needs a break. And Hunter is a shell of his former self, turns out not playing for 2 years isn’t good for the performance. They need to make some whole sale changes on defense, not saying fire someone, but the entire scheme/philosophy needs to be reworked. If the front 4 can’t get home, they need to bring pressure which puts more on an already weak secondary, but I’ll take that over any marginal NFL QB carving us up with 4-6 seconds to throw.

They run a 3-4 now so thats why their isn’t any pressure from the front 4. grin

Haha good point, except they line up and rush 4 all the time, especially yesterday.

What happened to Hunter? Started off on a Hall of Fame pace. Then got injured. Now he’s just a little above average. I wonder if he wasn’t in top shape coming in this year, and the grind is exposing that.

Man, I really hope the Lions don’t sneak into that final playoff spot at #7. That would be a much worse matchup than playing the Giants, Commanders, or Seahawks in the wild card round.

who says we will be the two seed we may fall to the three seed. Then you don’t have to worry about playing the lions.

Absolutely true. The Niners could easily pass the Vikings for the 2 seed. Its possible the Lions could move up to the 6 seed I believe too. They already beat the Giants and Commanders this season so they have the tie breaker there. They did lose to Seattle though.

While we were at it, I did some digging to see how the tie breakers go between the Niners and Vikings. They aren’t in the same division, and they don’t play head to head. So the third tie breaker is conference record. Right now the Vikings are 6-3 with 3 conference games remaining. The Niners are 7-2, also with 3 conference games remaining.

Some of it is wear and tare but this defensive scheme calls for Hunter to drop back into shallow zone pass coverage in many situations, rather than rush the QB. So he’s just not getting the opportunity for big sack numbers.

Has a 10-3 coach ever been on the hot seat?

That terrible fake coupled with the idea of being embarrassed by the Colts at home with an interim coach is a really bad look

Maybe a quarterback trade would help?

They only need 5 tuddies and they are right back in it!

On a positive note, liquor sales at US Bank stadium will hit an all time record today! I almost feel bad for all the fans that go to these games with high expectations.

He’s thrown 12 passes all game and the pick 6 he threw was all on Raegor. He settled into the zone, and as Kirk was throwing him the ball he slid to the left. Donnatel should be getting fired right now at halftime.

Here’s a true statement. This team is a fraud.

I think Kwesi should be on the hot seat. His draft class is an outright disaster.

    Embarrassing to watch.

How many decades have you been watching? You got to lower your expectations!

Even after all these years, it is just jaw dropping how utterly embarrassing the Vikings can be. Never seen anything like it from any other team. I don’t care if they come back and make a game out of it or even win, it’s still embarrassing.

This will either motivate the team or destroy them. At this point I’d bet on option 2.

Fire the DC, there’s no excuse for having the secondary behind the sticks on every third down.

I would agree with the assessment of kwesi’s draft class. Not only have the players he drafted been non factors, the trades he made within the division on draft day look even worse now. He’s just another Rick Spielman trading down to stock up on picks.

Can we just not use Raegor as a WR anymore? That’s the second time he essentially caused an INT today. Keep him on special teams please.

thats why he was traded away. he may be a good athlete but evidently cannot be competent as a route runner. as they say, you cant fix stupid?

Don’t normally rip refs but they have not helped this game that’s for sure.
Reagor should not be on the field while the offense is out.
