But I don’t get why people don’t seem to like his show

Part of the reason I don’t care for his show is that his knowledge outside of the football realm is very limited. Especially in the hockey world. We’re literally the State of Hockey and sometimes I feel like he doesn’t even know what offsides is.

It’s widely agreed that he is one of the best local announcers in the nation. But I don’t get why people don’t seem to like his show and him in general.

I used to always listen to his show, but over the years he just got creepier and creepier. When he would have females on the show it was borderline inappropriate so I just couldnt listen anymore. All his cliche’ phrases like “ooooooohh yyyyeeeeaaah” are just annoying too.

Do you really think sports talk show people actually know the sports they are talking about. That is what the guest experts are for.

For having a 3 hour show that is supposed to be about sports, and living in a state where hockey is so popular, he should have a better knowledge base of it. And he doesn’t. Have you ever heard him try to talk about college or HS hockey? Its appalling to say the least.

Beyond the Pond is a good listen on Saturdays in the winter. Now those guys are experts lol

Say what you want about him but his play by play is elite imo.

PA is one of the worst play-by-play announcers the Twin Cities have ever had. He should try calling the play-by-play instead of telling us what the runner had for breakfast and dinner the night before while the runner “is loose” and goes for 40-50 yards and the listener has no clue as to what is happening. Pat McAfee and LeBron giving PA kudos. hah Have them listen to him for 4-5 games and they’ll be sick of him. I can’t believe the Vikes keep him.

I will say that PA did PxP for a Wild game last year. Whether you like or dislike a guy, that is extremely talented to be able to call several different sports like that.

PA is somewhat polarizing. Kind of reminds me of the Joe Buck situation. I like the guy, I think Joe Buck has been the voice of major moments for a lot of my adult life. I’m totally fine with a “to each their own” attitude but I think a lot of people are in their comfort zone being angry and hating things/people.

I RARELY listen to sports on the radio but if you’re a Vikings fan you hear a ton of PA’s calls in highlights. Living in MN my whole life I really don’t have anything to compare him to as to say whether he’s elite or not, but it’s very cool to see the praise he’s getting on a national scale this week.

He was on Ben Leber’s podcast earlier this year and I got to like him a little bit more after listening to it because he seems very self-aware. He knows his personality isn’t for everyone but he stays true to what who he is. And part of who he is is an EXTREMELY big homer for his Vikings, which is fine by me.

    In other news today…

I saw that this week’s Vikes/Cowboys game is the first game since 1976 where a home team with an 8-1 record or better, with their starting QB healthy, has been the underdog. Wow.

Darrisaw practiced in a limited fashion today, which is a great sign. Heard on KFAN as well that last Sunday Darrisaw slammed his helmet to the ground when he was informed he had to head back to the lockerroom, which would indicate maybe he felt he was fine but cautious doctors saw signs and wanted him out. I don’t want any player’s safety and well-being sacrificed so I can watch them on TV, but hopefully that’s the case and he’s doing well.

The odds makers have now gained enough confidence in Vikings choking as us Vikings fans have.

You should be a wolves fan then you will never have to worry about them choking…

I’d much rather listen to fingernails on a chalkboard then to hear Paul Allen’s play by play.

Man their defense is really exposing the O-line today. Cousins is under heavy assault like every play.

Does this mean the Packers are better than the Vikings since they beat Dallas?

That said, what the heck is going on in Minnesota? I was hoping to watch a close game tonight, not a blowout at home.

Train wreck. Not all that surprising. I guess the loss is not that surprising, but a complete blow out is a bit surprising lol.

I would say the back-ups played the whole game on both sides of the ball.

That thud you heard was the Viking ship hitting a rock. wink

They were due for some humble pie. After the bills win I think they thought this would be an easy game.

I’m out of MN right now and in the 3rd quarter CBS switched over to the Pittsburgh/Cincinnati game. Probably should have made that call three plays into the game. Think Belichik will have a different game plan than McCarthy?

Need to just toss this one out and start preparing for the Patriots on Thursday night. New England has a good defense, but they are not nearly as efficient on offense as Dallas.

The entire NFC East is over .500 too.
