There have been only 12 qbs to win the super bowl in the last 20 years. That stat alone should tell you how many QBs can take you to the promise land.

LOL Tom Brady has 7, so him or whoever else has the best team around them and gets the breaks in the playoffs….

Yes the Goat is a big part of that. But also Big Ben and the Mannings. Outside of them there have only been 7 different QBs to win it in 20 years so not necessarily the greatest measuring stick on a quality QB.
If Joe Flacco and Brad Johnson can win one then in the right situation I’m sure Cousins could as well.

There’s only 2 or 3 qb’s in the league that fit that mold. Nobody said Kirk is one of them. It’s just kind of funny that the franchise that has never had anything resembling qb stability finally has it and they can’t handle it.

Newsflash NFL fans are irrational. I’ve been pretty clear on Kirk, you can go back and look if interested. But the reason Vikes fans are so negative on him is because he was one of the first quarterbacks to get crazy money with most of it guaranteed. So irrational fans thought this meant he should be one of the best in the league since he was getting paid like it for that brief moment in time. Now Kirk’s contract looks more than fair, possibly a discount, and a helluva lot better than Russ Wilson or Deshaun Watsons crazy money and unknown future. Kirk is what he is, and that’s more than enough to win a SB on a very good TEAM, and not nearly enough to make the playoffs on an average or below average TEAM.

Agree 💯. I said the exact same thing. You can add Carr to your list.

You got me curious, so here’s the last 21 starting with Brady’s first in 2002:

    Brady NE
    Brad Johnson TB
    Brady NE
    Brady NE
    Big Ben Pitt
    Peyton Manning Indy
    Eli Manning NY (Helmet Catch)
    Big Ben Pitt
    Brees NO (stolen)
    A Rodg GB
    Eli NY
    Joe Flacco Balt
    Russ Wilson Sea
    Brady NE
    Peyton Den
    Brady NE
    Nick Foles Philly
    Brady NE
    Mahomes KC
    Brady TB
    Stafford LA

Even crazier is that Brady would likely have 11 if it weren’t for the Manning brothers!

My take away from that list is, if you don’t have Tom Brady, you need a solid QB. Not many of those guys, Brady included to be fair, were world beaters that carried an average team to a SB win. Big Ben’s first he was terrible, Eli’s career (other than 2 SB wins) is the definition of mediocrity, Brad Johnson/Nick Foles/Joe Flacco/Matt Stafford/Russ Wilson were more about the defense than the offense imo. Basically ARodg, Manning in Indy, Mahomes, Big Ben’s second, and take your pick from Brady’s.

Hey now, Big d!ck Nick was elite for those 3 games. Johnson and Flacco had the most dominant defenses of the last 20 years. Mannings and Brady have all won in front of elite defenses.

    There. Fixed it for you.

No, it’s all NFL fans, trust me. There’s Bears fans still thinking Fields is the guy. And Packers fans that think Rodgers is better than Brady. I could probably go on for each franchise.

Almost makes you think our bottom 5 defense might be the problem……

Dolphins are starting Skylar Thompson rookie 7th rounder, but played decent last week and had a good preseason.

Started a little slow but finished strong. That turn of events when Bynum forced the fumble and then Dalvin ran for a long TD changed the outcome of the game. 5-1 going into the bye is pretty good, with the lone loss to the unbeaten Eagles on the road.

At least the Vikes are not losing by a play this year. The Vikes had some super good defense at time today.

Well, I don’t know how but they are coming up huge in all the big moments this season but they are. 5-1 going into the bye is pretty impressive knowing that this team can be so much better. Hopefully we can find it at some point.

Vikes got a horseshoe, and the Pack stuck in the mud. Happy times, happy times.

well they are winning games they should be winning on paper and it is translating in real life wins so can’t complain. they should win their next 2 off the bye and then should get smoked by Buffalo but weird $hit happens every week.

I’m gonna need to see some solid improvement to think they’ll even contend with Buffalo, but if that’s only their second loss of the season it’ll be a fair trade.

Still plenty of awful moments but they’ve gotta be somewhat decent to be 5-1. A lot of people have talked about how last year they always lost the close games and this year there are just as many close games but they’re winning. Lots of variables and one of them is special teams. And not flashy things like blocking punts or long FG’s, but everyday stuff. A lot of times for special teams to do well just means that nothing goes wrong. I thought that was huge today that they covered that fake punt well. Starting the second half with the Dolphins down I don’t think it was a major surprise but they still covered it well.

Defense looked pretty good today. Even Patrick Peterson, who’s nothing like he used to be, had some big moments. I still can’t believe sometimes we have Zadarius Smith and Danielle Hunter playing together.

And the Packers are now on a 3-game stretch of playing bad football against teams they were favored against.

Very happy to be sitting here 5-1. Not sure what to make of them not looking like a 5-1 team, but yesterday was a good example I think. 10,000 foot view the offense was garbage for most of the game, and defense let them move up and down the field. But the defense and penalties choked them off anytime they approached field goal range, and offense hits on a couple drives. The no offense 3rd quarters (haven’t scored a TD in the 3rd quarter this year) needs to be fixed right now today, but defense shuts them down and some key turnovers, and felt like they ended up controlling the game. Hopefully the bye lets them dial in both sides a little more, and the performance starts to match the record.

Special Teams has been GREAT all year, Reaghor had a big punt return yesterday too, and they caused a fumble that should have been recovered as well.

That 73 yard punt really came up huge. That was potentially going to be a very short field, but that was an absolute bomb.

This team sure does not win Pretty. But I’ll take all the Ugly wins they can get. They still have some issues that it may be Hard to fix. As sad as I am to say this, I don’t think they are near as good as that record has them Looking. The easy schedule they have the rest of the season ( 3rd easiest I believe ) should end them up with a decent record and possibly a NFC North title, I’m just not sure how far they can make it in the playoffs playing the way they are right now. I guess time will tell.

I’m pretty comfortable saying they will win the North at this point especially with their schedule. If they start being a little more consistent as the season goes I will say they can probably win a playoff game. No way they are beating the Eagles. Not sure anyone is…..

I agree. At this point with 3 divisional (albeit all at home) wins, a 2 game and tie breaker over GB, and a relatively easy schedule remaining, they should win the division. And if you win the division, you are guaranteed a home playoff game. Its looking very likely that the Eagles will be the NFC’s top seed and earn a bye so they probably won’t run into the Eagles until the conference championship, should they both make it that far.
