But Cousins is never clutch and cannot come from behind or put the opposition away.

Not sure which game you were watching yesterday. He started the game 18 for 18 passing which marks a new franchise record. Then on the final drive, with the team down 1, he went 5 for 5 on third down, ran for a TD, and tossed a 2 point conversion, all with under 5 minutes remaining. If that’s not clutch, I don’t know what is.

17 for 17 I believe but he broke 2 Minute Tommy’s record. Great performance.

So here’s my deal. I was actually pretty pumped when he got here, but, again my opinion only, I watched to many games with him stinking up the field when they needed a win in the worse way. I lost all hopes he can take the team deep in the playoffs.

    Yea I know it’s a team game

To answer your question, I have no clue right now who they could replace him with.

I just can’t watch a full game with him in there.

Imagine what it would be like with Teddy, or Mayfield, or Jameis…..It could be a helluva lot worse.

That’s an honest answer. I can respect it if you just don’t like the guy. There’s lots of people I don’t like too.

He’s only been to the post season once here. He won on the road at New Orleans in OT. Then lost to SF on the road in the divisional round. So he’s 1-1 in the playoffs. Not much of a sample size.

Or paying Russel Wilson 49 million or Deshaun Watson 46 million Derek Car 40 million. Or signing Kyler Murray to a 230 million dollar contract and have to put in a playbook study clause. (It has since been removed) Woof…

People hate on Kurt because of his contract. Starting QB’s don’t swap teams without getting paid. Every time a starter that is even half way successful signs any contract it is record breaking.

Daniel Carlson with 37 consecutive FGs. 10th player in history. 7 away from all time record. Oops.

I hate people at work like you. Always identify “issues” but never provide solutions. Cousins is NOT the problem.

Don’t worry Glenn, the majority here thought Teddy could play also.

I’m not worried Dutchy, just stating my own personal opinion. I guess if it doesn’t coincide with other opinions I’m wrong, but that’s what makes it a great country.

And generally speaking guys here are pretty cool even if we don’t always have the same opinion.

Well Glenn, why not just say you hate the guy because he’s milk toast? That’s the reason you dont like him because he’s a nerd. He has done what he needs to do and come from behind 3 games this year, previous years the Defense was more trash than it is now and he still had them in 1 score games like 8 times, but the defense couldnt stop the other team. He isnt the problem and hasnt been the problem. He has the longest active passing TD streak in the league. This new offense-scheme is something everyone is learning and its more exciting to watch than run it on first down every dang time. Some of these play calls would have never been on the card with Zimmer and it makes for a much more dynamic offense. They will only get better.

I don’t think you’re a jerk. I was just wondering if you had a reason to dislike him from a performance point of view. I think its safe to say that he’s not going to put up Allen, Mahomes, or Jackson-like stats but he’s clearly a top-half or top-third quarterback in this league which means the majority of QBs are worse than he is. I also don’t think he’s the kind of QB that is going to single-handedly lead a team to a super bowl.

I personally don’t care for Aaron Rodgers myself, but he’s a hell of a QB and his record, stats, and consistency over the course of a long period of time backs that up. I just think he’s kind of a dick.

Single handedly or with the Buffalo Bills team for support he wouldn’t lead a team to the Super Bowl.

He is Jose Barrios, decent player but he isn’t taking you anywhere. If the goal is to win the division and maybe get you to a NFC title game, he’s your guy.

If the goal is to win the division

I completely agree that he’s not the kind of QB that is going to take a team to the SB. I don’t think anyone here thinks that. One step at a time though. Winning the division guarantees you a home playoff game. You can’t win the super bowl if you don’t make the playoffs, and its a lot harder to win road playoff games too. Under a new head coach, just making the playoffs this season would be considered a success.

Kirk is the preachers kid, drives a van, wears plaid shirts, says Frick, and drinks milk. It’s pretty obvious Kirk does not have that dawg in him jester

waytogo well I appreciate you guys thinking I’m not a jerk…. Most of the time anyway whistling

I’ll give you guys this, yes cousins has come through for the most part this year. BUT since he’s been with the Vikings more often than not he hasn’t. I’m looking at this since he’s been here not just what he’s done this year so far!

I’m also not nieve enough after all the stuff I’ve heard and read the past coaching staffs may have a lot to do with it also.

Erin, Yea I don’t like him either but just because he is with the Packers.

Musky… I may be 65 but I don’t yell at anybody to get off my lawn whistling waytogo generally I get accused alot of being a public relations guy and like to BS with everyone. waytogo

100%. No one had high expectations on what the Vikings were going to do this year based on last season’s results. The fact they have won game that they would have certainly lost last year is very encouraging. They have some things to patch up and get more consistent on, but they Division at this point is there’s to lose.

On this forum, yes. We’re biased here though. I had them pegged at 10-7 with a wild card playoff spot, and the Packers winning the division.

Analysts and predictions made by outsiders had virtually all picked Green Bay to win the division. And I saw a fair amount of them picking Green Bay to play in the Super Bowl too.

If you start listening a month before any season, Football, Hockey, Baseball you will find the same guy picking several different teams to win just so they can be right. Here we have had guys go back and edit posts on different subjects.

Since the discussion is here I was talking about the guys here picking the Vikings. Here, regionally & nationally the people were skeptical Erin could lead the Packers to the division title without Devante.

But since I don’t care I suppose I shouldn’t even post about it.

There was at least one prognosticator that picked the Lions to win the Division.! Have they never watched the Lions?

I also don’t think he’s the kind of QB that is going to single-handedly lead a team to a super bowl.

There’s only 2 or 3 qb’s in the league that fit that mold. Nobody said Kirk is one of them. It’s just kind of funny that the franchise that has never had anything resembling qb stability finally has it and they can’t handle it.

There have been only 12 qbs to win the super bowl in the last 20 years. That stat alone should tell you how many QBs can take you to the promise land.
