I agree with Captain. If anything I think it speaks volumes for the new coach to adjust and put together a game winning plan. Last years team would have definitely let the momentum swing eat them up and lose.

I agree with you guys as well. Vikes are somewhat of a work in progress with a lot going on. It’s been mentioned a lot but they lost a ton of close games last year. Being 4-1 with a season full of close games is a big difference.

They certainly have flaws on both sides of the ball. But I think when people just constantly complain about all the flaws and bad things they don’t really understand how so many damn teams in the NFL are going through their own problems.

-You think Tom Brady wanted to come back (and cause a divorce) for a so-far mediocre season?

-You talk close games, the Packers almost gave a win to a 3rd-string Patriots QB in Lambeau, then lost as 9-point favorites to the Giants, the biggest upset this year according to betting odds.

-Always fun to rip the Vikings’ draft picks, but how would you like to be a 49ers fan knowing how much you gave up for Trey Lance and he’s arguably not even the best QB on the roster? How about the Bears? I saw a mock draft for next year (yeah I know) showing the Bears drafting early and picking…a QB. Then there’s Trevor Lawrence….labeled the best sure thing ever in a draft. I know the Jags have been historically bad but he’s not exactly shining through.

-A Bears fan on the radio today gave a lot of credit to the Vikings new coach and GM for not “blowing it up” as a new regime. He said that’s exactly what they did in Chicago and they’re nowhere near good anytime soon.

Again, the Vikings aren’t great and could very well be exposed by better teams (they were against Philly). But a lot of the problems they have aren’t unique, and there’s a lot of teams that would like to have that talent and a 4-1 record right now.

Agree with what everyone is saying for the most part, happy they’re finding a way to win and I think KOC only gets better, but just can’t get excited for this team this year. We’ve benefitted from playing mostly bad and/or injured teams and even then, 3 of the 4 wins came down to the last drive. Our one loss, against a VERY good Eagles squad, is understandable but wasn’t even competitive. We will benefit once again from playing a banged-up Miami team next week and (hopefully) go into the bye at 5-1 with at least a 1-game lead in the division. The struggling Packers have a suddenly surging Jets squad to contend with.

But Cousins is never clutch and cannot come from behind or put the opposition away. I guarantee you last year’s team would be 1-4 at best at this point. These coaches/GM and players are in a much different spot than they were a year ago. Not saying they are going to win the SB, but they are winning games they should and even some they dont deserve to. Everyone is banged up so saying they are playing teams that are banged up is irrelevant. I guess losing a starting QB in Miami is significant, but they havent played them yet.

Again, I don’t disagree and I’m happy we’re finding ways to win. I’m excited about the progress, just not excited about the season. As I think it’s still 50/50 we’ll win the north and almost certain we’ll be a first round playoff exit if we do.

And not everyone’s banged up – the Vikings are not compared to at least three of the teams we’ve beaten where their starting QB and/or starting receiver have been out not to mention other key positions. I think our biggest injury was Harrison Smith for a week?? Next week we go up against possible a 3rd string rookie QB and Tyreek Hill is in a Walking boot. They have a mid-ranked defense so should we should dominate. Yay for progress but still not convinced we’ll even win the north with this defense.

    “50/50 on winning the North”
I’d put the odds at 55/45 right now that the Vikes win the North. The Green and Gold have issues. Maybe their loss yesterday in London to the Giants was a fluke, but then again, maybe a weakness was exposed that other teams will be able to exploit.

Not sure which game you were watching yesterday. He started the game 18 for 18 passing which marks a new franchise record. Then on the final drive, with the team down 1, he went 5 for 5 on third down, ran for a TD, and tossed a 2 point conversion, all with under 5 minutes remaining. If that’s not clutch, I don’t know what is.

Well Capn Kirk is gonna need a lot more of those clutch games in his favor to get over 500 for his career.

Cause he’s got a lot of blunders under his belt already!!

Sorry, I should have used the sarcasm font. He is a very good QB, but so many people rip him and bring up meaningless crap from his time in Washington (poverty franchise) or his time here where we now know that zimmer hated him.

5 teams (6 if KC wins tonight) in the league with 4 wins. Offensively they are growing and improving a lot week by week, and I was very encouraged to see Kirk taking some ownership of the offense and changing quite a few plays up yesterday. OL is somehow becoming a strength instead of a liability. I don’t take much away from yesterday on the defensive side of the ball, that Chicago offense is offensive. Pretty clear this bend but don’t break style is not going away, so the only metric to judge off of is the most important one, the score.

There is certainly a ton more creativity in the offense this year. The Reaghor TD would have never happened under the other regime.

The Vikings have opened as 3 point road favorites in Miami against the Dolphins on Sunday. Primarily because the Dolphins are down to 3rd string QB Skylar Thompson at QB with both Tua and Teddy out. Other injuries include both their starting left and right offensive tackles, all pro CB Xavien Howard, and WR Tyreek Hill. Wow, they are decimated by injuries right now.

Feel the same way. Yesterday it seemed they played with just about everything in front of them and said try and beat us Fields. End of the day they are 4-1 and 3-0 in the division. Who knows what happens to other teams as well as the vikes as the season progresses and more injuries happen. Outside of Philly does anyone in the NFC stand out as a juggernaut?

I don’t think there is a juggernaut in the NFC, including Philly. I don’t think they win their division. Hurts is not that good imo, and has a long ways to go this year to prove me wrong. Great start for them, but I doubt it lasts.

I actually feel the same way about Philly. I just figured someone would point out Philly being undefeated so far and playing the vikes to a lopsided score.

Again, Vikings fans bashing Kirk for not being able to win when he’s lead the team on last minute game winning drives on 3 of the 4 wins this season. Yes, there are lulls in the middle of games we all wish didn’t happen. But you cannot say that he isn’t winning games this season because he has been clutch in the 4 wins we have. Great teams, sure, not really. But they’re still winning. Patrick Mahomes couldn’t have won that Philly game the way our D was playing. Get over the Kirk hating and enjoy having an above average QB for the first time in a decade.

    Worst fans in sports.

this year maybe. But I’ve seen him in action as a viking in need to win games. I’m not impressed… Yet

Think of him what you want, he knows how to get paid.

As of the 2022 offseason, Kirk Cousins’ career earnings of $161,699,486 make him the 17th-highest-paid player in NFL history.

And he is 10th in terms of salary for QBs this year and the only one in the top ten under 40mill… Sooo

I interpret “growing and improving” to mean our TE didn’t drop key balls this week in big spots. This team is a lot tougher to stop when the tight ends don’t have butterfingers. Hope Smith Jr. and Mundt are done with their case of the drops.

Our previous coach would never say much of what is coming out of KOCs mouth here. https://fb.watch/g4oEQ6h3DK/

I say this and I liked Zimmer but there was clearly issues internally.

Honestly, I don’t think he can really post any better stats than he did last season. He threw 34 TDs and only 7 INTs in 16 games. That’s probably his ceiling. He might be able to improve on that a little bit but he’s not going to throw 50 TDs. You’d have to be delusional to think there is a better available option out there at QB right now.

I’m glad he’s your hero but I wouldn’t bet a nickel on him when he needed to win a must have game.

But then that’s my opinion! And lay off the name calling!🙄

Who would you rather put in there at QB Glenn. I’m genuinely curious. There literally isn’t anyone better available.

Keenum is probably on someone’s practice squad. He’d definitely make this team better…… roll

Exactly. The Kirk haters gonna hate no matter what. There isn’t a whole lot he could have done in his time here to win more. The defense has been terrible for years and all the stupid issues with kickers, etc. Kirk is top third in the league QB.

He’s the backup in Buffalo for Josh Allen. I saw him come in yesterday during the fourth quarter lol
