Struggling to see deer and we have a ton on this property.

Trying a spot I haven’t scouted at all and found this on the way in. And had 3 come by at about 10 yards on the other side of some willows too. Love ground hunting!
Also super crunchy out here, even birds on the ground are sounding like something. 🤣😂
Just had a doe and 2 fawns step out. A good sign as it’s only 4.

It’s definitely warm out, but hopefully one decides to cruise down the ridge tonight.
I’m sitting on a field edge close to where daughters and I saw a couple does come out last night, although we did educate them but we will see. Nice to just sit down and enjoy the weather anyway.

I checked out a different part of property earlier and yes it was very crunchy in the woods, found lots of new scrapes/rubs though.
I think things are starting to heat up a bit more. Last night I had a little buck chasing a doe around on the bench below me, and this morning I saw 9 bucks on drive down to the farm. Tons of new sign at the pond, but no deer yet.
We are struggling to see deer, which is really rare. Not sure what is going on. Our last sit of the youth season.

Not much to report from my trees. Did see some deer, few smaller bucks. Not much happening with the weather n higher temps, bring on the cold. Good luck to all n be safe.
Not sure what is going on.
Could be the warmth. Not to mention it was a hurricane out yesterday too.
We had a pretty major warm front come in right after a very active cold front. I think the deer were tired from being very active and lethargic from the warm front, high pressure, and warmer temps. Very limited activity anywhere around out property at all.
No big guys this year for me. Gonna hope for a wanderer to stroll through.
I do have this weird racked buck. He’s got a mangled right from leg that healed funny. He won’t step on it ever, so his travel area is smaller. I hope he survives the winter cause I wanna see him next year! 😃
I went scouting for my gun hunt last night and there were scrapes and rubs everywhere. I also saw 3 bucks out cruising way before dark. I had to sneak out tonight for a short sit and it looks like things are starting to heat up more at the farm too!
Brother texted me this tonight. Not sure if he got it near new Richmond Wi or mossonnie Wi??
Well the weather app got me today, Wind was the opposite direction than forecasted so the spot I planned to hunt was out. And spot i am hunting the wind is marginal at best. Also forget my grunt call. Beautiful morning tho!
I over slept a bit but still got out. I’ve had non stop buck action since I say down. 9 different bucks but mostly spikes. One 3 year old 9 pt. He’s made atleast 6 scrapes and a rub all 20-40 yards from me. He and a small 8 have sparred a few times now.
No arrows flying, but very exciting to watch.
Almost had a very short sit this morning. He was coming in just like I planned but about 5′ short of where I needed him to be he decided to make his own trail and it kept just enough brush between he and I to keep me from shooting. Then I lost him to a doe he found in the field. Had a 2 year old chase a doe right under me later on and they then came back a half hour later and bedded down for 15 minutes or so about 50 yards away. I don’t have very high hopes tonight being in the mid 60’s.
A camera i checked on way out this morning showed that buck was in that area 3 of the last 4 mornings so I know where I will be in the am.
Back out. Same spot as this morning. Wind is still good here. Need the same activity level, just different deer. Saw to decent bucks in the middle of a 200+ acre cut soybean field at 3:00 on the way here.
The elephant squirrels are extremely active.
Went for a wheeler ride at the ladies tree farm this afternoon. The atv trails are covered in scrapes.

9 different bucks but mostly spikes
That’s a lot of activity. Even if they’re only spikes.
Set up at 5am along this ridge line hoping something would move past early. Nothing but squirrels, oh well at least I found a place to potentially hunt those.
They are getting ripe, had a 2 year old (or real nice 1 y.o., not certain) pass by at about 10 yards and I could smell him up in the tree
Ended up seeing the White Flag as the buck I’m after busted me Saturday morning, then Saturday night he was upwind of me and busted again. Not sure how, but have his home dialed in, now just need a good wind and time to get out. I haven’t seen his head, so not sure if he is a shooter or not, but I hope he’s the nice 10 I saw a few weeks ago about a mile or two away chasing a doe.
Havn’t posted in awhile but I have been hunting a lot. Had a pretty rough experience over the weekend I was debating on posting but maybe someone will learn something from it. Friday night I sat a spot thats been known to hold bucks this time of year. Heard a couple bucks fighting and had a really nice 10 coming my way. Well he read the script and gave me a slam dunk shot at 10 yards. Hit him low. All brisket never recovered. Arrow was a lot of fat and not much blood. Little drips of blood for 80 yards and lost it. Grid searched for 8ish hours and couldnt find him. We are pretty sure he is alive but you never truly know. That was a roller coaster of a weekend and even still think about it often.
If you are on FB, they have that MN dog trackers page. Just an fyi.

Yesterdays set up is a money spot I have with a west or NW wind.
The property has a huge oxbow along the river. On the SE side of it there is a point of trees going out into the crop field next to the river. Around the bend of the river is another oxbow in the river that is on the neighbors property. Bucks will cruise between the two oxbows and transition through the point in the woods.
The result of last nights sit.
He come in checking his scrapes that were by the tree I was in.
Shot was 20 yards.
