My son’s big doe made it well over a hundred yards and the blood trail was just like that. Crazy how far those buggers can go!

This snow is awesome! I’m going to put some miles on tonight and/or tomorrow morning to try and pin down some current bedding areas.

I took a nice big doe tonight. You have to keep the farmer happy, and take an extra bean eater off the farm. I had 5 other does and fawns inside of a 100 yards, and another 6 or 7 deer scattered around the field an hour before dark. It’s always nice when they drop in the field like this!

We had wind gusts up to 40 tonight with wind chill around -10.

Only saw one doe but had a good one on camera from Saturday.

not enough people consider the whole buck/doe ratio. Taking out does is very important especially mature ones.

Miscalculated my shot on my big buck tonight. Thought he was at my 100 yard mark and he was 130, wind pushed my shot I think. Felt sick to my stomach. But the buck walked away slow and didn’t know where I was. I found where he came out of the swamp. I also had 13 doe in the field tonight.
This is all on public land. I’ll be back out tomorrow hoping to get another opportunity

The buck to doe ratio in the area definitely seems to have gotten a little out of whack since CWD and it’s related regulation changes started. The farmer is loosing alot of crops to deer every year so a little population control doesn’t hurt either.

Brutal winds here this morning. Nice buck jack.

Taking a chance to slip into their bedroom and hopefully get a 7th encounter with Houdini

My hunt ended early when I had to loose a pair of underwear due to a fart that came out wet lol.
