Nice Frydog! I can’t believe I haven’t gotten one through the ice yet!
Couple more today… liking the Old Town Autopilot kayak. Has some of the things you get dependent upon like Spot-Lock and side imaging..
Come to think of it, haven’t heard from Pug in a while
I got a PM from him today. He’s still around.
Targeted LMBs today. Caught 10 including a real nice one. Lost a few too. Pretty cool watching em bust up a school of gills hovering around the bait, cruise in, then gulp it down. The UL Rippin’ Rap was what was on the menu today.
I placed 9th out of 27 in a tournament yesterday despite not having a gas motor to go from spot to spot. Yak gets in spots the others can’t though.
Hard to believe its January and some of the fish are starting to show signs of spawn?!?

So was it a kayak tournament or an actual boat tournament with live wells and a weigh in?

I was the only kayak, the rest were gas motored boats. The lake is strict catch/release so instead of a weigh-in, the fish were measured by length. Pretty laid back and no entry fee, but in some ways more fun that way. Winners got a free hat lol.

Oh ok ya that makes sense now. I prefer the catch, measure, and release format anyways.
I won’t mention that it was 77 degrees today, but I did find a big girl on a Dark Sleeper this afternoon. Hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that it’s only January, yet this female is probably already spawned out…

More evidence of climate change. 😂

Just read in one of my Florida fishing magazines yesterday. Crappies spawn in Okeechobee from October to May, bass December to May. Lots more 65+ degree water in this part of the world. The gulf was slow in January. Having cold fronts every 3 days, and lots of wind. Lot’s more 50’s than last year. Did get a slam one day. And double slam another day {2 of each}. Clear cold water and high skys have also made it tough on the flats. Kinda gloomy today, going to try to sneak up on some Reds I’ve been spooking. Been giving thought to trying some fresh water if it doesn’t pick up soon.
Nice LM FD. waiting for May around here.
Especially summer time Froggin……

Canada Smallie
Nice one. You caught that in 2022 already? What part of Canada looks like that lol
Oooops, sorry, that was October 2021 – I cheated
I could post lost of 21′ bass lol. I thought this was the new year’s thread ( busting your balls ). Must have been a rainy lake fish

You’ll just have to catch another big brownie in 2022 and then post it.

Yes, otherwise I’d have to wait until the ridiculous “bass season” to open here.
Was fishing Bull Shoals today… saw this on shore (Yankee go home!)
