Classic Fiala game… primary points on the first 4 goals and then give one back later when McDusty picked his pocket in the N zone. Kings fans seem to be enjoying him jester

So many Bo Horvat rumors floating around it’s kinda funny…The latest I saw from Elliot Friedman was Horvat to the Wild for Rossi and Lambos…now excluding the fact that re-signing him is likely next to impossible for the Wild, I’d be fine with the trade itself…

There’s ZERO chance the Wild pays a price like that for just a rental though….

I’d do it in a heartbeat if it wasn’t a rental. Not a chance they can resign him though so kind of a silly speculation.

I’d for sure do it (Horvat would cement the 1C slot for 8 years) I’m completely over Lambos and while Rossi still has huge potential, he’s undersized and that will always be a negative for him…

But there’s no chance we can afford Horvat’s likely $9+ aav the next 2 years (next year is the problem year capwise)

More likely the Wild pulls the trigger on a trade like this next season when Zuccy/Foligno/Hartman come off the books (some will likely get extended at a lower aav) and the cap is expected to jump significantly in the 2024/2025 season and could possibly offset enough of the last year of the caphit penalty…

Dewar is the center, Duhaime is the most established, and Reavo is the shiny new toy. It’s going to be Shaw and I hate it. That kid’s a spark plug and all over the ice every game. There will be more injuries though so it may never matter.

Shaw to the press box tonight… Rangers have a very good PP1, sure would be nice to have the best PK guys in the lineup whistling

    ^^^Don’t like it.

Lambos is most likely trade bait at some point if they sign Addy. Not going to be room for him for like 5-6 years.

I agree on Lambos. There are other potentially better options in the D pipeline to fill in besides him.

IDK Brodin & Spurgeon are the only long term roster locks IMO, all other D could be moved and wouldn’t surprise me. Especially Addison, I could see him as the odd man out this summer. 40+ points for a 22 yo D-man has to command minimum $3m right? Probably worth a lot in a trade too. A true PP specialist might be the luxury they can’t afford when the cap space is squeezed this summer. I had big expectations for him this year but his 5v5 game has been really disappointing. I also think the GM and coach aren’t his biggest fans.

I guess that was more my point is that I feel Addy and Lambos are vying for the same spot. I think they love Middleton and can see him resigning especially after how the last negotions went. Unless they think a prospect is better in 3 years. I think Faber is the presumptive 4th D man.

Lambos is LH two-way D and Addison RH PP specialist. Otherwise agree that’s the planned top4 moving forward but not set in stone like a few years ago where they had the same top 4 for like 5 years. I think there will be room for the D prospects to step up and grab a spot if they are good enough, or at least they can make room easily like they did with Addison. Sounds like Faber is pencilled in next and then I think Daemon Hunt will step into a 1st call-up/bottom pair role.

Spurgeon signed for 4 more years with a NMC is going to be Addison’s ticket elsewhere…Some argue against it, but our Defensive core needs to get bigger and nastier (We have way too many Lady Byng nominees)

I’ve mentioned him before, Joel Edmundson is rumored to be available and he has 1 more year at a mangeable $3.5aav, now he’s not having a good year in Montreal (who is) but he’s finally healthy….he checks all of the boxes in terms of what we’re missing on defense and would allow Faber to play 3rd pairing to learn the NHL ropes…

I agree Addison’s value is likely never going to be better this offseason and maybe he could be swapped for another young RFA forward from a team overloaded with forward prospects (LA Kings)

I’ve lost some hope with Lambos…sure he puts up points on what’s basically an allstar team in Juniors, but he’s failed so miserably at the WJC’s that it raises a few eyebrows (yes he still made the teams which is impressive in itself) BUT he’s still so young (ELC slides to next year) that maybe they decide to just be patient with him…Daemon Hunt has been impressing down in Iowa and now plays 1st pairing, he could be part of the Wild’s future 3rd pairing in a year or two when Merril is gone…Kyle Masters has had an impressive season (after getting traded to a good team) so he’s another prospect to watch…

Hunt intrigues me if for no other reason to see those big open ice hits that he has highlight videos of. You guys are forgetting about the potential diamond in the rough too with Bankiers who is having an outstanding season and made the Canada U20 World Junior Team. Still a ways out for him, but we definitely have some options at D.
Speaking of Iowa, it sounds like Rossi has been pretty consistent lately around a PPG now if memory serves. That is a good sign.

    Bankiers is a center

Tim Armstrong has been a huge fan of Hunt and has been playing him 1st pairing and PP time in Iowa…its a shame the terrible luck he had regarding the 2 WJC teams he was cut from due to getting injured in the last practice the day before the team was selected, I would have liked to see him agains the worlds best..

?? He is? I swear when I saw the Canada roster they had him at D. Time to brush up on my EliteProspects info. Well I’ll be. He is a good sized boy too!

Yeah, him making the team was a surprise, but Canada likes to select a few role player type guys every year to actually play some defense, Bankier played mostly 4th line center…

Rossi has been good since being sent down to Iowa, the best sign imo is that he’s scoring goals not just getting PP assists…

There was a clip I beleive from last weekend’s games where he won a clean board battle against a monster 6’4″ defenseman, shoved him off the puck into the boards and then fought his way through a hold to the front of the net to get a deflection goal…

    Now that’s an encouraging sign.

6’6″ Griffin Mendel out of U Denver

If I hear Rossi is a point-per-game in Iowa one more time I’m gonna puke. Nic Petan is a point-per-game in Iowa. Victor Rask was a point per game in Iowa

    thx for the link!

The only thing i’ll say about Rossi’s scoring in the AHL vs Petan/Rask is that they are well established Professionals (AHL & NHL) vs Rossi is a 20 year old kid who jumped right into the AHL after missing about 10 months worth of no physical activity greater than walking down his street in sandals…

He’s got a career track record of dominating at every level he’s played at, of course the jury’s still out on what his NHL career will look like…

Wild got lucky a couple times. Pretty even first period honestly. But a good result for the Wild.

You’re right. Putting up those numbers as a 20/21 YO are a great sign for his future. It’s all the Twitter knuckleheads that think it means he’s a star now and too good for the AHL and needs to be in the AHL. Like he’s the first person to ever be PPG in the AHL. His numbers were dead on with Shaw and Dewar last year.

Speaking off Shaw… when is the myocarditus excuse finally over for Rossi? He’s not the first person to lose a few months of development due to injury. We gotta get over it at some point

Just got an alert on my phone that Edmonton and Ottawa are interested in Dumba. Looks like it’s from Darren Dreger of TSN. No idea if he’s reliable or not.

Generally he is pretty plugged in. I’d say Friedman and Russo seem better but obviously Russo isnt keen on other markets as much as others.

It seems pretty low. And the mics for Lapanta and Lou seem higher than normal.
