I just ran into one of my co-workers who is Nate Schmidt’s Aunt. Apparently he got married recently and there were like 20 some NHL players in attendance including MAF. Apparently at one point Fleury was under the table for like 55 minutes trying to tie Nate’s shoes together but it wouldnt sit still long enough for him to do it. They were handing beers under the table to keep him hydrated LOL.

Getting more nervous about the Kaprizov situation. I wonder why he didnt just say he was visiting for vacation. He should be able to do that correct? The whole Work Visa thing is sort of a joke for professional athletes. What if they want to work out here with trainers year round?

Not sure on the particulars how a work visa works. Seems to me if everything was hunky dory with KK over in Russia he would have reached out to BG or his agent by now to say so. Not hearing from him would indicate things are not all as they should be. Trying to enter the country twice in two different ways gives the look of someone fleeing. As I said earlier why’s he trying to come back now anyhow I would think he’d want to spend the entire off season with family and friends which was the point in going back in the first place.

If Kaprizov is not here for this season I doubt we see him in a Wild jersey again.

Dang you must be tight with BG to know all of this info. lol

awesome Wild behind the scenes Draft video – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFMFOP_w9z8

Judd is really really good at his job! Predicting the moves other teams would make and then getting his guys is pretty awesome! BillyG is just a goofball…I love it!

BG is such a joker and Judd is just all business. What a dynamic duo.

Bye bye Cam. Don’t let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

Don’t get Billy mad or you are gone in a second. He holds some pretty good grudges it seems. Don’t like the numbers Gustavsson has either. Hopefully it’s because Ottawa isn’t very good.

Well most fans wanted a true back up instead of wasting money on Flower. Looks like they got that wish.

Frees up a couple million at least. Flower might not make it to next season if this guy is going to be our backup.

Cam probably won’t have to worry who the starter is going to be in the playoffs at least. rotflol

I don’t see Fluery being all that great this season especially having to play 60 games.

    Reckless speculation:

If we can free up a little more money (Jost or Kulikov) could Billy entice Malkin to take a 2 x $5 deal to play with Kaprizov? (insert Kaprizov trapped in Russia joke here)

Geno would LOVE to play alongside another Russian sniper and maybe take a discount to do it…

He was the best goalie in the world just 2 short seasons ago… the games schedule will be no where near as jam packed as last years was… he’ll have time to rest up…

Gustaf will play just as much as kakko would have. Doubt Flower has to play 60.

I think Pitt would sign him for that. Guess how jaded he feels towards Pit.

I agree he could get more elsewhere, hoping the allure of playing with Kaprizov entices him enough… long shot, but who knows… gotta think the term and urgency LeTang got pissed him off alot…

The D corp having more time to play with MAF will do wonders for both. He’s an aggressive goalie and I think that affected the D corp and his performance big time with little time together. I expect a resurgence.

I hope you’re right. I just wasn’t too impressed with him last year. And he’s like 39 years old. He’s not the Vezina winner anymore. I just hope he looks better than he did last year.

It’s a stop gap for now. They were not giving Cam more long term. Cam probably was not going to resign for same or less. Honestly think they were not landing to roll with both. Cam apparently didn’t want that. Oh well.

Johnny Hockey is going to Vegas. The real question is who goes on LTIR to make him fit

lol, ok that post made my day…what’s even funnier is they are probably actually trying to figure out a way to do it…

My guess is he wants to go home to New Jersey….

with the newly added capspace, do the Wild:

    1) Overpay for D-Lo? Lou Nanne said he heard D-Lo has a $2 million x 2 deal on the table from another team…
    2) Try to pool more capspace together (trades) for a homerun attempt at Malkin?
    3) Play it safe and keep Rossi, Beckman and Addison up with the big club?
    4) Stay out of the early FA rush and wait for the inevitable deals that always pop up for a career top 6 Veteran forward on his last contract or a better than average 4th line/tough guy?

Addison is not on the club unless they move a d man at this point. Maybe to start because Merril and Greenway probably don’t start on time. So they maybe have 3ish at this point to play with as they need some money during the season unless they learn to play LTIR.

I saw Dylan Strome hit UFA. I think he would be a pretty nice winger in our roster. He’s a little pricier than they probably want to spend but they can afford him now if they wanted. Has some solid numbers too. I’m still waiting for them to dump Kulikov to free up a little more as well.

It was fun to speculate while it lasted… That’s alot of term for an aging Geno with a full No move clause for all of it.

He’s only a year older than Cam. He also played the majority of his games last year with a trash Blackhawks team. He isnt washed up by any means. Apparently this goalie we got back in the deal is decent he was just on a terrible team as well.
Seems the Sens may be making a huge push in FA to get the likes of Giroux and possibly others. Could be a rumor mill game to garner a bidding war, but if they go all in on some of these guys they could be a decent team.
