Jakub Vrana on waivers. Definitely has some issues but guy can score. See if anyone claims him.

Curious to see if team USA takes a more physical approach with Bedard tonight, try to throw him off his game… I havent seen any other teams try yet at the WJC, but of course they’re all EU teams…

This was intriguing. His metrics are off the charts, but he appears to be dealing with some gremlins so who knows if he’ll play again, but a change of scenery often helps.

You cannot hit what you cannot catch. Didnt you ever watch Youngblood?
Why on Earth do we have a home game at 8:30? Good Lord!
We’re part of the TNT double-header tonight, we’re the late game…

i’m not saying we dress “Racki” but I wouldn’t be surprised if they make it a point of emphasis to finish “every” check they can on Bedard, get him involved in post whistle scrums if possible…of course he already knows this and is likely used to it, so we’ll see how he reacts…
No way they do it but the Wild are one of 7 teams that can fit Vrana right now, but they’d have to move him before next season. Way too much risk, similar to the Boeser rumors really but I like the player better. If we knew he was healthy I’d love him on the team this year though. Vrana is poor man’s Fiala, his peak is like 2021 Fiala.
They could always just waive him I suppose, but that would sort of be a waste. I too like the thought of him on this team if he is healthy and not fighting demons. He is apparently in some player counseling program or something like that.
Yeah that program is typically for drug use/rehab. There’s way too many unknowns around him for the Wild to take that risk but it seems like a no-brainer for young building teams like the Senators or Sabres. But you know the situation is not great when Stevie Y tosses him out just a couple years after trading for him and extending him.
Yeah, as much as they rave about the culture in the room, bringing someone in like that might be a disaster.
TNT broadcast tonight. Wonder if Bizz interviews Reaves tonight. That’d be a good one.
Either Jakub Vrana has some serious off-ice issues that maybe prevent him from ever getting back to the NHL *or* No GM has the stones to claim a player from Stevie Y. I’m going with option 2. Stevie Y thought he needed more conditioning games in the AHL and told the other GMs not to touch him.

You see their interview last time?

This game isn’t disappointing so far. Same guy fires the puck over the glass in the D zone twice saved by the glass the first time then gets a penalty. Come on bud figure that out. Kept them off the score sheet on PP but gave them life.

I did. They have been going back and forth since Oct. He got on the Chicklets podcast in Oct and they started going at it. Bizz said he beat Reaves at some bar at that punch out game and that the bar renamed the game “Reaves Pillow Punch” after.
Entertaining for sure.
Why doesn’t USA just stop Bedard from scoring? I don’t get it
how do TWO US defenders get lazy on covering him in the crease?
USA defense is playing super lazy around the net… the Wild’s Peart was at fault on Canada’s tying goal…

Yep.
Suck’s to know that Snuggerrud was plucked by the Blues the pick before the Wild… Judd and boys wanted him… he would have filled a huge void in the prospect pool…
He’s going to be a heck of a player…
USA needed to add some Defensive focused defenders to the team, too many offensive defensemen and its costing them sofar against Canada…
USA forwards are playing well peppering the Canada goalie who unfortunately now appears to be in the zone…
Great pace sofar…
I don’t know the IIHF goalie interference rules but after that challenge I hate them. That’s a goal in the NHL

I think the argument for the call was that Blake’s feet impeded the goalie from pushing back towards the net…. They need to change the rule to be a blatant (plowed the goalie over) interference, these ticky-tac calls are just stupid…
Blake was bumped by the defenseman before that but I agree that should have been a goal.
I’ve never seen a player put so much of their body into their wrist/snap shot like Bedard does…. Maybe Alexander Semin…
Its just unreal… he probably uses a 60 flex stick…
I’m sure they made the right call, IIHF rules are just way different than north American rules we’re used to. In the NHL that would have been fine because the puck went into the crease before the player and he had the puck wheen he bumped the goalie. All fine in the NHL but apparently not for IIHF
