Poor Dumba…fans on a one timer actually has a great back check and then gets a delay of game penalty for back checking hard.

Not poor dumba, he’s been terrible all game. Single handedly responsible for at least 3 odd man rushes.

I know was just saying minus the fan on the one timer he actually hustled his but off in the back check and it was a poor call.

    Ottawa D are terrible..

At the beginning of every game when they bring in a guest to say, “Alrught Wild fans, it’s time to drop the puck, so everybody say it with me…” my son and I have our whole couple rows yelling “LETS TRADE DUMBA!!!”

Listening to LaPanta and Carter Reaves is single handedly winning this game because just his presence has turned the entire Ottowa team into a bunch of sally’s who barely want to leave the bench to skate their shifts. And here I thought there’s no place for guys like him and good riddance when those types are out of the game. So confusing.

Reaves single handily winning the game. That’s a hilarious take.

I am sure it had nothing to do with them being in last place in a loaded division and playing last night in Detroit.

Shooting all those pucks offseason allows Gaudreau to snipe open nets!

For being nicknamed big rig Greenway sure falls easily on the ice. Good win, good to see Gusty get the start against his former team. Hartman looked like he didn’t skip a beat for being off for so long.

I agree. What a ridiculous comment to say he only won this game single handedly when he’s obviously been the sole reason for all 9 wins since the trade. Did they even mention how he led his two previous teams to the conference finals? And then those teams can’t even make playoffs after he leaves them! No surprise there. The real question is who gets traded next year to afford the Reavo extension.

Gustafson is playing himself right off this team next year… he keeps this stellar play up there’s ZERO chance we can afford him…

I was just thinking yesterday how nice it has been to not see weak goals lately. They are making all stops they should and some they shouldn’t.

The best thing the wild could hope for would be a Dumba injury, nothing serious, just enough to take him out of the line up.
Find out who in Iowa can replace him.

Goaltending was my biggest concern coming into this season, over higher than trying to figure out how to replace Fiala’s scoring. Since if they had shaky goal tending they were certainly not going to be worried about losing Fiala, but stopping the dang puck. After a shaky start both he and Fleury have been very solid, but the D has upped their game too. Brodin now leads the team in +/- (meaningless stat I suppose) after being one of the worst to start the season.

Not as big of a problem as you would think as he will be a rfa so the wild have the advantage.

Rossi had a good week last week with 4 pts in 3 games. 2+2.

I don’t know much about goalies except that they are voodoo and jinxes are real so you guys need to stop talking about Gus the Bus. He’s been very good lately and actually most of the season aside from a couple rough starts.

Even if his solid play continues I don’t see him getting over $2m aav unless he goes all Jake Otterberger in the playoffs (he’s not playing in the playoffs). And if they can’t afford an extension for him, well I’d say that’s a great problem to have.

Nobody in Iowa would be replacing him. It would be Goose.
His replacement is playing for another Minnesota team at the moment.

just not sure they have the capspace to double/triple Gustafson’s existing $787k caphit…

If I remember correctly, Russo pointed out that the Wild will have around $15 million to spend on the following:
Boldy – Top Wing besides Kaprizov, it has to be a 2 year bridge deal before they can offer him a 8 year max deal once the cap penalties are done, but what aav will he accept for the bridge?
Gaudreau – as much as I don’t like him, he gives the Wild a decent center option they don’t have a replacement for, hopefully they figure he moves to 4th line center at the end of his new contract term…
Addison – Vital Right Shot young defender, likely signed to a 2 year bridge deal at a small aav raise
Duhaime – I think he’s a vital 3rd/4th liner, I could see the Wild offering him 3-4 years at a $2 aav as we’d be buying out a few UFA years…
Steel – I think he’s a mystery to re-sign, if he does, at what term? it likely holds Rossi back…IF he continues to rack up points at 1C, he’ll command a big pay increase over his current $825k…
Shaw – Vital 4th liner, will get a bridge deal raise, his knee injury histroy is worrisome…
Gustaffson – Will command a raise over his $787 aav, term will be important with Wallstedt likely 1-2 years away…
Reaves – wont be brought back
Dumba – will be traded by March 3rd if they can get a worthwhile return, otherwsie they’ll ride him out for the season and let him leave a UFA…Faber availability likely a factor as well as I don’t think he can be eligable to play in the Wild post season if the Gophers make an extended post season run???

Boldy and Gaudreau could eat up 1/2 of that available $15 capspace, that leaves $7 for Addison, Duhaime, Shaw, Gustaffson, Steel… that will be extremely tight…

Frozen four final is April 8 and Wild have 3 regular season games after that. Faber will be available. Trading Dumba and counting on Faber filling his spot for playoffs takes some major cajones, huge risk there if the goal is playoff success.

$15.5m space for 5 forwards, 2 D, and 1 G. Likely to fill those spots are Boldy, Freddy, Steel, Shaw, Duhaime, Addison, Faber ($925k-ish ELC), and Gus. Boldy’s contract is going to hold everything up. Right now it seems like they can’t all fit, but that’s because they’re hot. Good problem to have.

Faber could swap out for Addison or Merrill on the bottom pair if he looks shaky…like I said, the Dumba trade return would need to be worth that risk, if all that’s offered for him is a late round value draft picks, you keep him…

Craig Smith on waivers. I think that’s the closest the Wild could get to a free top 6 scorer guy who can score goals for cheap AAV. That’s also assuming he’s 2018 Craig Smith and not washed up Craig Smith, he’s not young and I have no idea if he’s fallen off a cliff. He’s scored around 20 goals a year on 15 minutes a night for pretty much his entire career until this year.
