The Reaves walker thing is was LOLing. I’m like he’s twice his size
74/75 but yeah that’s pretty ridiculous.
Lot going on in that 1st period, the goal was beautiful! After watching the Ovi 800 game and that first period is pretty obvious Chicago has completely given up on defense.
So how does it work that Sammy Walker was signed as a free agent by the Wild this year, when he was drafted by Tampa Bay in 2017?
Teams lose the rights to draftees after 3 years of college. I think it’s only 2 years for the CHL and not sure about the European leagues, but I think it’s 3. Russia rights never expire.
And specific to Walker he actually wanted to sign with Tampa still but they didn’t even offer him a contract. Which is wild to me after seeing him in these couple games
Wow, two 5-5 goals for the 1st line, when was the last time that happened?

I believe the NCAA is 4 years if player is 18 years old when drafted or 3 years if they were 19 years old, thats how we lost McBain last year…
Its why we’ll burn the 1st year of Faber’s ELC so he doesnt stay at the U for his senior season and can then become a UFA…
That’s why the burned a year for Boldy but from everything we hear about Faber they’ll burn a year because they want him to play ASAP.
Your right about the 4 years Joe, but I know in some cases it’s 3 maybe when they already played a year in NCAA. I think they lost the goalie to Pittsburgh only 2 years after drafting him. He was drafted as an overager so now that I think about it it might be age related. Or maybe 4 total seasons of NCAA regardless of when drafted.

I updated my post, its 4 or 3 years and sometimes even 2, it all depends on their age when drafted, vast majority of drafted players are 18, but Nico Sturm was 19 and why we could sign him after his Junior year in college when he could become a UFA. Blake Wheeler is probably the most famous college UFA to start the trend… I believe Adam Fox might have threatened to do it and got his wish for a trade to play in NY?
We absolutely want and need Faber asap, but also absolutely cant risk him staying 1 more year and then picking his team to sign with and GMBG has a deadline to trade him. Although the McBain return wasnt bad at all…
Walker has been getting his butt rocked all game but keeps on keeping on. Taking a beating.
Jimmy Vessey was very notable on signing elsewhere from being drafted.
Boldy is determined to get Sami his 1st goal tonight, it must be driving Deano f’ing crazy…
but Nico Sturm was 19 and why we could sign him after his Junior year in college when he could become a UFA.
Now I’m lost again lol Nico was undrafted. Wasn’t he a 20 year old freshman aka the Maverick Special. Rules are different for undrated guys.

you’re correct, undrafted players become UFA’s at age 20, I forgot that about him and figured he was a 19 year old draft pick because he left his junior year at Clarkson I believe?
Last night was Zuccarello’s second hat trick of his career I’m a bit surprised at that I would have guessed he had more.
Craziest shootout attempt i’ve ever seen!
Umm what!!?

Would that count in the NHL if he made it? I thought the puck had to always be moving toward the net?
That was wild and would count in the NHL. Skater has to continue forward or lateral progress, that was just like a really good toe drag but he kept moving forward.

That is absurd how the puck seems to stick to the tape. Would have been more ridiculous if he scored.
My kid thought this was hilarious.
Santa and his little helper.
I’m officially in on Reavo. New favorite player actually
Surprised Kirill didnt skate to Gustafson for a big hug after his goal…

Honestly. Woof that was a bad play.
I generally dislike day games. Especially Sunday day games but this team seems to play very well with them. Also noticed that fleury reallllly does not like them.
