Yeah it’s been out for about a week but sounds like the kid has the right makeup. Working his arse off it sounds like.

Wilson’s biggest issue isn’t that he hits all that dirty, it’s that he has a major mental breakdown occasionally.
Yes he hits dirty occasionally but he also just plain turns psychotic at times.
Reavo is a Willi Plett looking for a Al Secord. Him and Wilson will be gone soon enough and there will be no more like them. One day everyone will look fondly back on the days when Reavo and Wilson roamed the ice and wished there were more like them.

Agree

Disagree.
Anyone see the new Not Weird, Wild!? I love these things! Mean Dean
C’mon Rip you know that after all the big bad boys are gone and all the rules are instituted for soft play the first female NHL player will take the ice for the Seattle Kraken!

Already happened years ago in Tampa. Can you show us on the doll where the lady hockey player hurt you?
With all due respect to the late great Boogeyman, I’m happy the NHL has evolved past goons who can’t actually play. Reaves is the closest thing to that now and also the last of a dying breed. I say good riddance.
So much Tom Wilson slander in here, and I can’t stand the guy. Agree he’s a borderline psychopath on the ice but he’s also a really good player. Putting him in a category with Reaves is just way off. Wilson is like Foligno but better offensively and worse on D, and dirty. Maybe a better comparison is Boston Lucic. Either way he’s been top 6 most of his career and Reaves has never been anything but a 4th line “energy guy” (plug).

The parallels between Wilson and Reaves for me are the physical game. That is where it ends. Both are big humans and love the physical game. Wilson plays dirty like you said and isnt much of a fighter where Reaves will toss the mitts a time or two. Wilson is also way more offensive.

Yep, agree. Good riddance to goon hockey. Its a speed and skill game now. If your only contribution is fighting, there is no place for you in this league anymore.
Don’t get me wrong, I love a good scrap just as much as the next guy but the game has by-passed the days of being competitive as the Broad Street Bullies.
What goes around comes around. There will become a time where goons are back. Probably not like we are/were used to but some form of them will make a comeback at some point.
In today’s world, it’s just unreal that fighting is still allowed…if 2 guys do the exact samething in the stands or outside the arena, they are arrested for assualt…Or if they want to keep it in, make the penalty so big (game misconduct vs 5 minutes) that it basically removes itself (what I think they’ll eventually do)
Kinda surprised the NHLPA hasn’t forced the league to remove it entirely (Yes it would eliminate the enforcer role, and thus some player jobs and the PA’s main purpose is to maintain player jobs) but the other side of the coin is that it would remove the injuries that occur during fights and therefor keep it’s players healthy and playing…
Does the league (behind closed doors) really want to remove it and thus shun the Hockey Purist fans who want it to stay in the game? Do you ever see fans NOT wanting to watch a fight? Would they lose TV ratings?
Hartman and Duhaime still out. Sounds like Hartman is hopeful for Sunday and Duhaime out through Christmas.
Not going to bother me when Reavo and the few goons are out of the league.
Will still be plenty of scraps.
I think it would be hard to remove it completely from hockey. The severe penalty may work for a bit but there are just to many dust ups in front of the net that can be borderline fights and guys getting tossed for that could be maddening.
Still way to many old school coaches in the league to completely eliminate it just yet.

Did Duhaime have a concussion?
Did Duhaime have a concussion?
Unofficially reported by Russo (podcast but not in print) and never confirmed by the team.
Concussions are weird. Some guys can be back in a week others take some time. He will be out close to a month with it.

I just heard someone say on the radio that athletes are recovered from a concussion in 7 to 10 days, but non athletes can take 3 months. Make this make sense?
Cuz athletes are dumb?
Kidding, that really doesn’t make sense to me at all.

Yeah, it was said when they were talking about Darrisaw’s concussion. Weird.
typically the longer recovery time is related to having multiple concussions within a short period of time, so he possibly had a much less severe one games before this one…
It’s sad how some teams/leagues treat them like a nothingburger, it’s a friggin tramatic brain injury, but because the ramifications don’t likely show up until the player is retired, it’s mostly ignored…
.
There has to be some missing context from that. Otherwise it makes no sense.

I sure hope so, but I listened to the whole segment and they didnt provide any. I agree it makes zero sense at all. I could see an athlete’s recovery being shorter for certain types of injuries just because of their training, but a head injury makes no sense at all.
The NFL has been a complete $hit$how in terms of dealing with concussions…just as Tua Tagovialoa….
I’ve been hard on her in the past but she seems better tonight or maybe it’s the beer?
Its the beer, she’s made about 7 player mixups sofar and is constantly behind the play… she just called Reaves Sami Walker…
Yes she and her sidekick has made player mixups but some of the numbers are hard to discern so I give a pass on that.
The Reaves walker thing is was LOLing. I’m like he’s twice his size
