TennaB from KFAN has been raving about the Sparx sharpener for months.

yeah, use the promo code “KFAN” for like $50 off I think….

what did Steel do to earn the opportunity? Does 1 good 5 minute spurt (1G/1A) in a game meet the threshold?

I agree Rossi’s play to start the season when he was centering the 2nd line a few games with Boldy didn’t inspire much confidence, but other than Kirill & Zuccy, who’s game did?

For the 857th time in this thread, they showed basic skill and competency. Rossi didn’t even show that. He couldn’t get to the damn puck Joe!!!! At least Steel and Goudreau could get the puck, make decent passes, and get some scoring chances. Rossi was invisible in every game he played.

Love my Sparx machine by the way.
Most shops use them now too.

kinda strange they kept such a supposed gimped player that can’t perform basic hockey skills in the NHL for 18 games then huh? Surely NHL level coaches would notice and not let such a terrible player like that stay in the NHL after even 1 game right?

Were Steel and Gaudreau making all of these plays that you mentioned from the 4th line playing 7-8 minutes a night? and a reminder that both Steel and Gaudreau were absolutely TERRIBLE the first 15 or so games this season…Steel was rountinely a healthy scratch candidate and only stayed in the lineup due to injuries, Freddy could do no wrong in Deano’s eyes so bad play didn’t matter for him…

Have a buddy that has a Sparx and loves it. I believe our youth association is going to buy a couple and I know the girl’s high school team already bought one. I’ve had my skates sharpened with Sparx and didn’t notice anything different, which is good. I should probably get one soon with 3 kids in skates.

I haven’t been paying much attention to the Gophers, but Brock Faber is having a good offensive season (we already know he’s a defensive stud) surpassing his career high in points only 20 games sofar this season…

You’re off the rails Joe. You need to reboot and possibly defrag your hard drive. Rossi just isnt ready and he is now where he should be until he forces them to move him up. He’s only 20. Boldy wasnt that great right away either, but when he came back he flourished.

Faber is having a VERY impressive season. He is now an offensive threat and a shutdown/puck mover.

Been to a handful and have watched many Gopher games. Yes Faber is playing lights out this year. I don’t follow all our D prospects super close but he definitely is the most NHL ready and may be the best of the bunch. I am fine with them moving some of the others to make this team better offensively.

Boldy wasnt that great right away either, but when he came back he flourished.

Boldy was completely different as he was dealing with back to back ankle injuries from training camp and then in December just before getitng called back up that resulted in him playing in Iowa for rehab…when healthy, he returned to the Wild in January and was given an extended look on the 2nd line and developed chemstry with Fiala and never looked back…Rossi was never given an extended opportunity to succeed…that’s my point…

What if Boldy was put on the 4th line last season and never given the chance to play top6 with Fiala? It’s strange that nobody else wanted to see Rossi at least get a chance… oh well

I hope we can at least agree his 1st NHL season development has been handled terribly by the Wild brass? His lineup placement & the game where he played like a minute total of icetime are great examples…

Here’s the problem Joe. You are taking this as a personal attack because Rossi couldn’t hang in the NHL. Look past your love affair with him and you’ll see reality again.

And yes, Steel and Goudreau were making plays, playing with speed, and doing the little things that this coaching staff wants to see. And they still are. Are they great? No. But they were and are doing much more than Rossi was.

I also mentioned I would have liked to see him get more of a chance, but where they had him playing he was clearly struggling in phases of the game that putting him with Kirill and Zucc would have been a disaster. That was the problem. If the rest of his game was lights out and just not producing it would have made sense, but he was struggling in all facets.

But what if your point is wrong?? Boldy’s first 2 NHL games were playing on a line with ROSSI AND FOLIGNO. Boldy was an absolute stud: GWG in debut plus 5 shots and 3 scoring chances combined. Rossi was a ghost in those games and got sent back to Iowa. Boldy was a stud so they put Rem Pitlick on waivers because Boldy made it loud and clear that was his spot – all in only 2 games WHILE PLAYING WITH ROSSI AND FOLIGNO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So next game was like a week later because of the covid shutdown and that’s when Boldy got put next to Fiala and Freddy and again was a stud – put up a goal and assist in game 1, he claimed his spot with the first chance given and the rest is history.

Rossi had 16 games to show that he had a pulse – and he has 1 assist. 16 games!! And the absolute cherry is guess which forwards are his two most common linemates… BOLDY AND FOLIGNO!!!!! It took Boldy one game with Rossi and Foligno to make it obvious he was here to stay. Rossi has had 67 minutes with Boldy and 54 minutes with Foligno and done nothing but take a dump on the ice. The next two forwards are Dewar at 47 minutes and Shaw at 44 minutes. Two players that also came up and stole spots because they were good from game 1. Dewar who they waived Rask for last year and Shaw who they waived Jost for this year. Rossi has been the worst player on every line he’s been on, crying about his linemates or not put in a spot to succeed is a freaking joke. Now give it a rest.

Look I love Rossi since before they drafted him. He was the #1 guy I was hoping would fall to them in the covid draft, not perfetti or raymond or holtz who were ranked higher by most. I wanted Rossi and I pissed my pants right on the couch when Buffalo’s GM said from the ottawa 67’s JACK QUINN. I still think he’s going to be a good player but dude you gotta take the blinders and look at what he’s actually done so far. He’s obviously still a prospect that needs some development, let it happen.

Lol, all this discussion over my hope that a team willing to put a non-tendered rfa from a terrible team signed before training camp at 1C, but not at least try their top offensive prospect just to see if they can light a spark…

Ok lets move on… hopefully Hartman comes back and looks nothing like he did the first 15 games this season…

Let’s talk about Gustavson. He’s been fantastic lately. I was really concerned about backup goalie situation coming in but he has been great lately. Could be an awesome tandem when The great Wall of St Paul arrives.

    Go watch tennis.

He was not trying to hurt anybody. He threw a clean hard check on someone that clearly wasn’t aware.

Did I mention I am not a fan of Reavo.
