    That was nasty from Boldy

    2A for Walker!

2A should have went to McDavid as he is the one that passed it. jester

GREEF line is so much fun to watch when Greenway plays mad… they just Dominate!

Dumba did that to himself with the chip pass right on the blue line. Offsides challenge four minutes after the zone entry is so dumb

Yep he did I always hate those passes at the blue line.

Nurse is going to put a hole right through Greenway’s helmet in again jester

That line has been fun to watch. All 3 are such good forcheckers and can protect the puck against the wall all day.

I was just going to say Dumba having a good game and then a penalty figures.

Freddy redeams himself but he owes Dumba Manny’s.

No way is that on Freddy. That’s on Dumba. Every squirt hockey player knows not to make a move or change puck direction at the line until you’re INSIDE the zone.

and then is directly responsible for a McJesus/Draisaitl/Nurse 3-1, thankfully the worst of the 3 took the shot…

If there’s an odd man rush more often than not, it’s because of a dumb play Dumba made.

Ha this isn’t squirts. This is the NHL and they do it all the time. NHL is a game of inches not feet or yards like squirts.

There are two things that NHL players do all the time that drive me nuts and its a play like Dumba made at the blue line and the through the crease passes in their own end. You wonder why kids have such a hard time breaking that habit when the best players in the world do it all the time.

I agree with Greenway, never been a fan of Nurse, especially at that rediculous aav….

“You make a lot of money” is the worst chirp. Does everyone remember when Nurse rung his bell and then pounded his helmet right into the ground like he was playing whack-a-mole?

No argument that Nurse is a tough sob though! That fight was decided the instant Greenway got a terrible jersey grab at the start, even with Greenway’s reach that jersey grab location allowed Nurse to get full swings in…

Hopefully Reaves teaches him a thing or two…

Sticking with my comment on liking the Reaves addition. How many fights has Foligno had to have since the Reaves pickup? How many fights overall? I don’t think our smaller guys are getting pushed around as much and Nurse last night maybe on pretty good behavior because of Reaves.

I can only imagine how loud it would get when Reaves finally scores at the X. He practically had the entire arena on its feet when he found a loose puck leading to a breakaway

No argument from me on Reaves fitting in well so far. So assuming Duhaime is cleared now with Petan reassigned… do you guys want to see Duhaime with Boldy, and Walker to the press box or Duhaime with Shaw/Dewar, and Reaves to the press box? I think it should depend on who they’re playing, but I doubt Reaves gets a healthy scratch for a long time.

Nurse last night maybe on pretty good behavior because of Reaves.

What does that even mean? Nurse has like 5 career fights, maybe 1 per season.

I was wondering who would find their way to the pressbox with Dewey1 coming back. If they put him with Boldy and Walker who would be center? Boldy? He’s done it in the past, but that would be an interesting line for sure. Id have a real hard time sitting Dewar or Shaw they have just been very good all year.

LOL I need to work on my sentence structure… I meant Duhaime with Boldy and Freddy – Walker will be in the press box.

Ah, reread it and now I see what you meant. Yeah, that would make sense.

It’s funny how Duhaime and Hartman’s return changes things, or at least how we think things should look. If there’s no further injuries, I think they should spot start Reaves in for whomever isn’t playing the best (coaches decision) against the more physical teams. There’s no doubt that the 2nd line has looked different the past 2 games with Walker, his speed and energy has changed the look of that line completely (granted it’s only been 2 games) I’d give him 4-5 more games to see if he sustains his play or if it was just the rush of getting called up and wears off…

if everyone is healthy, i’d like to see this lineup:

Kaprizov – Hartman – Zuccy (this assumes Hartman’s rough start to the season was an enigma)
Boldy – Gaudreau – Walker/Duhaime (there’s no way Deano moves Freddy down to the 4th line)
    Foligno – Ek – Greenway
Steel/Dewar – Shaw/Reaves/Duhaime (mixture of these players including Duhaime if Walker stays)

    Spurgeon – Middleton
    Brodin – Dumba
    Addison – Merrill/Goligoski

IF Hartman completely fails or gets hurt again, they’ll revert back to Steel at 1C, but I’d like them to give Rossi a 4-5 game trial run to see if there’s a spark…(Steel hasn’t done anything for the 1st line 5-5)

Big IF they are ever healthy, most teams are rarely 100%. But Shaw or Dewar sitting in the press box IF they’re ever healthy was my reasoning for not liking the Reavo trade. Hated Dewar stuck in the press box for D’Lo during playoffs while he was a waste of 9 minutes a night.

I like your lineup except Walker will be down in Iowa (2 way contract), Duhaime on the 4th line, and Steel in the top 6. Steel, Hartman, and Freddy can all play center or wing so they will mix them up with the 3 legit top 6 players.

Play Reaves against Nashville and other fight happy or physical teams with good depth. But against teams like Edmonton and Vancouver having a bottom line that can score is a major weapon. I just don’t trust them to scratch Reaves with any regularity after trading for him.

Sounds like Duhaime isn’t actually back yet – I jumped the gun there… see my comment above about never being healthy lol.

What has Steel done to deserve top 6? Just curious…

he has 6 goals and 2 assists, so most of his points are coming from setups by Kirill and Mats, he’s not generating anything for them like he should be….We can’t keep playing a guy at 1C that doesn’t help generate any offense…

and the press box rotation should be mostly Reaves sitting, he filled the role when we had injuries, but he should know his place once we get healthy…

There’s only 3 players on the roster that really deserve top 6. Hartman is there too if he can find something close to last year’s game. I’m just making my best guess, and that is they like Steel in the top 6 more than Duhaime. Plus I really want to see that Iowa Line for an extended stretch of games. It’s like a miniature (literally) GREEF line but with speed instead of size.

I just don’t like how the Wild brass thinks Steel is doing a good job…I realize they don’t have much options and GMBG I guess is trying to find somebody better, but that should be more than enough reason to at least TRY Rossi at 1C when/if he gets called back up…

I’m not so sure they see Steel doing a good job. They just have no options – don’t expect them to put that in the media though.

Guessing they want Rossi to do something, anything, before handing him a top 6 center spot. He did nothing for the couple months he was there. Look how fun Dewar and Shaw are to watch, that’s likely the energy and compete level they are looking for before handing him the keys.
