Vancouver gambled that Horvat’s 31 goals last year was a fluke and he’d revert back to the career average 55 point guy and justify a $6.5-$7 million aav. He’s on pace for 50+ goals this year and its driving his asking price to the $8.5-$9aav range and they are stuck now with others needing big raises soon (Petterson, Kuzmenko, Hoglander)

Kinda sounds familiar hey Wild fans

It will be interesting to see if Vancouver can get a 2023 lottery 1st round pick back without any top 5 protection on it…

Well except for Ryan Hartman devil

You can bet the talking track from GMBG will be that we dont need a trade anymore as we’re already getting a 1C back from injury…

Would be pretty tough to get last year’s 1st jester

If he moves I bet they get something similar to the Taylor Hall package. What non-playoff team is going to trade for him to get that lottery 1st? Plus a non-protected 1st is a pipe-dream, there will be some kind of protection on every future 1st that gets moved for as long as the current CBA is around.

Or calling up Rossi from Iowa or the kid from the Gophers. Either way that’s the most brutal quote from GM’s when they say their deadline deal is an injured player coming back or a minor league call-up. I don’t think we’ve heard it from Billy G yet but I’m sure it’s coming.

Sounds like Duhaime (concussion??) might be back later this week, guessing he plays with Boldy or on of Shaw/Dewar gets elevated. If they’re ever fully healthy Duhaime-Dewar-Shaw is going to be a fun 4th line. Depth scoring could be the difference for this so far middling team.

I think Taylor Hall had full trade protection and could name his teams vs Horvat has none… thats why the Hall return was so low…

Yeah don’t see a bottom team trading for him knowing he could just walk from them at the end of the season as well. Those teams are trying to win a sweepstakes.

Who knows maybe if they can dump Brock before that they can up their offer.

My bad, meant the 2nd Hall trade where he went to the Yotes. Was a pretty big package of picks and mid level prospects for a rental.

Every team that misses playoffs is in the lottery so that’s 16 teams. No one is trading a non protected pick, not happening.

That’s what I expect to happen. Could also see them moving JT Miller.

I could see a team like Anaheim trading for Horvat with the full intention of signing him to an extension. It gives Horvat the ability to sign a 8 year deal vs 7 if he goes the UFA route… as mentioned his UFA team choices will likely be limited to a non-contender as his new AAV will be hard to puzzle piece into their existing cap structure, but teams could be willing to worry about that afterwards if it meant they could shore up their 1C spot (Wild included)

Horvat for Ducks unprotected 1st in 2023?!?! You’re on drugs.

scrap Anaheim, I forgot Zegras plays center and they also have Mason McTavish, so a longterm 1C likely isnt a big need vs other positions… I agree no bottom 5 team is going to exclude top 5 protection, especially in this draft…

The rebuild teams likely have a pool of top prospects that could be included in a trade instead of a 2023 1st round pick, especially on defense, a big area of need for Vancouver and the only position weak in the next draft…

Not to mention stunting the growth of the top two centers they just drafted.

Never mind you caught it. Lol

Getting chances is great and all, but Walker needs to start at least getting shots on net!

That’s an iffy challenge, especially since it would put their PP back out…

So the video review guys are praised as genius’s when they get one right, they need to be called out for the stupidity in that one…

What is Dean doing? You are going to risk a long shot replay to put the best PP in the history of the game back in the ice.

Can’t challenge against this team unless it’s 100%

Walker is the perfect opposite wing for boldy that kid can fly and has some skill. Freddy is a bit of a sled with those two.

I see what you did there but I think he is a perfect option for where we are right now. Speed and skill.

He has shown some speed and wiggle for sure. See if he can take advantage of his situation. Duhaime back soon.

He’s definitely dynamic off the rush. Haven’t seen him really do anything else but just that alone makes him better than anyone else we’ve seen there.

Freddy redeams himself but he owes Dumba Manny’s.

Fabulous Fred is so weird. When he scores they are usually really legit nice goals. Just enough for you to go man if he could just score a few more, but he doesn’t.

Moose looks terribly slow right now.

Dumba did that to himself with the chip pass right on the blue line. Offsides challenge four minutes after the zone entry is so dumb
