This reporter they have interviewing the players and GM’s is embarrassingly bad.

They are saying Chicago is in a 5 year rebuilding plan. They should be a mess next year.

MASSIVE overpayment for Kirba Dach – that’s unreal.

Same! He was 3 OA but underwhelming. Maybe change of scenery will help but I still don’t understand why those trades were announced so early.

They’ve been a mess for a few years now. After they went on their dominant run, they went right back to being the perennial doormat they were for many years. Too many players with aging, bloated contracts.

And that’s not even mentioning Romanov who is an even bigger overpayment there. What is Lou doing??

Blackhawks are already on year 4 of not making playoffs, bubble doesn’t count.

Emily Kaplan? She did player interviews and on the bench coach interviews the entire playoffs. I think she does just fine 🤷‍♂️

Do the Wild trade up for Kemell? Yorev will be there at 24 if the Wild wants to toll the dice.

    Liam Ohgren from Sweden. LW.

Ohgren looks like a skilled guy for sure. I’d roll the dice with Yurov if he’s still there at 24.

I would have rolled the dice on Miroschenko.

Yurov, good pick. Risky but tons of upside.

Ship Yurov back to Minny and never let him leave!

Glad they rolled the dice on this uber talented kid!

Ok draft over. At least for guys that you expect to be in pipeline. Flower move was good considering the circumstances. Now where do the make the room financially.
Moving Cam? May be the best return? Kulikov just a salary dump. Dumba would get more at dead line if season goes off the rails.
Can’t imagine Cam is stoked about being in a tandem being UFA.

So let me see if I have this right. BG signs Fluery for two years at 7M and then he plans on calling Talbot after the fact to see if he’s alright with a tandem? Why bother to ask him now it’s a done deal whether Talbot likes it or not. If I’m Talbot that would urine me off more than not bothering to ask at all.

Fluery is a legend but his better days are clearly behind him we’ve all seen that. If they could have got him at a aav around 2 to 2.5 then maybe. I guess if BG likes you he likes you a lot. If he don’t like you he don’t like you a lot. He might want to consider brushing up on his people skills being he’s in that business and all.

I say tough cookie Cam. As if he wasn’t aware that they were going to try and sign Flower the day after the season ended. Bill has been saying it all summer.
3.5 is more than fair. Cam can be butt hurt all he wants. what has he ever won that gives him all this cred. He has been an average goalie his whole career. I wish my employer would call me when my feelings get hurt. There is a reason Cam is at the bottom of league salary wise for a starting goal tender.
Now we have two of the cheapest starters in the league. Sounds like a win to me. Don’t see why BG has to justify any move to any player.
How do you think Kemps feels. Hoist the cup now he is looking for a new team.

Tough bounce Cam. Don’t like it then go packing. With the two of them one of the best goalie tandems in the league. If he wants to be traded it would help the wild fill other needs but still seems there is going to have to be someone else moved to fill out the forward spots. Liking this draft so far. 1st round was great just hope the Russian can make it over in a few years but he’s a top 10 talent.

Its not like Cam has posted numbers the past few years to warrant any demands to be a full time starter…

Its good for the regular season, but it sucks come playoff time. If one is 1A and the other is 1B, I can foresee another issue next April when the post season starts. Unless one of them is clearly playing better than the other…oh wait that happened this past spring and they started the guy with more street cred instead of the goalie who was playing better.

And it wouldn’t have changed the outcome of the series. Didn’t suck for the blues.

You don’t know that and neither does anyone else. My point is that its not a great way to go into the playoffs.

Blues were fine with it. Would rather go in with the option than throwing out a career backup when Cam is off.

And yes I do know that. Blues were better in the series.

Cam wasn’t off for like 2 months prior to the playoffs.

So you’re saying you knew the Blues were going to win before the series started. I would love to have your ability to predict the future Rip. I’d be a rich man!

Different than what you stated. You stated I knew before the series started. I didn’t and didn’t say that.
I watched the series and saw with my own eyes that the Blues were the better team in the series. Goalie wasn’t the difference. From our side anyway.
I also didn’t say anything about Cam and his performance leading up to the playoffs. I stated if Cam falters I wouldn’t have much confidence to throw in a random backup goalie. They had one goalie under contract. They needed another goalie. They got one who they have more confidence in more so than a career AHL goalie.

Slight confusion then. I do agree with this part and that is now I how I read it. As far as the goalie making a difference, we don’t know. It may have. They hung him out to dry for most of the series and then tossed him into the fire for game 6 on the road which was virtually an impossible position for him.

What is the goal here with the goal tending situation? Have Fleury be the starter and Talbot be the backup or just split games down the middle all season and make a random decision come playoff time?
